Today we are going to see what would have happened if Enterprise had to engage both Romulan Ships.
I believe they were seriously outgunned.
We will also be trying the NX-01 Refit to see how that would fare.
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Kobayshimaru.

To be fair, the enterprise had already sustained major hull damage from a mine before the Romulans de-cloaked.
The nx is over rated for a ship that never existed that I wish was destroyed with all hands and paws lost.

May I point out, that in the "Minefield" episode, enterprise never had photonic torpedoes, it was basic torpedoes.
The photonics came in at beginning of season 3 for the Xindi.

Hahaha, I deleted my initial post because I was beaten to it.
The NX had all 3 phase cannons at the time, but not photon torpedoes.
Romulan war is covered in the novels set after the show. They use it to explain why ships interiors went from lovely flat panels to the ToS style too
Nx-01 refit can easily mop the floor with those 2 romulan ships. You should have done that the other way around. NX-01 Refit didn't want to fight.
I also felt that EnterPrise was very underrated. I loved the show and was downright distraught when it was cancelled.
Are you familiar with Michael Okuda? He worked on Star Trek for many years, including Enterprise, and wrote the "Star Trek Chronology". What I find strange is that the Earth-Romulan War era Romulan ships which that book shows are not in "Star Trek: Enterprise".
The Romulans used polarised Hull plating too....the Drone Marauder was mentioned to have reinforced its Hull which affected the transporter. This was done in combat with Enterprise and Phase cannons had trouble beating it. Torpedos could hurt/kill the drone but struggled even more to hit

I mentioned I loved the vid, but wanted to actually scale it, the romulans themselves during this period were essentially neck and neck, they didn’t even have shields either, and during the earth romulan war, the only thing that the romulans could do is rely on their vastly superior torpedoes and Bombard and swarm the nx 3-5’s, but I’d imagine the original refit on the nx (not the shielded version) when they get 6 phase cannons, and photonic torpedoes, as well as their enhanced secondary hill, that they would be able to fight a single bird of prey, but two is very very iffy. The bird of prey during that time only had heavy plasma cannons, which the phase cannons were superior to, but they could spam them.
I believe it's canon that Trip lived and joins Section 31 afterwards.
Commander Charles “Trip” Tucker III is still alive well the Enterprise NX-01 refit existed and in the Earth-Romulan War for that’s the ship that fought in it and was heavily damaged. The ship was restored to its pre-refit condition after the war due to the damage and after that is when Trip died. If you listened to the dialogue in “These Are The Voyages…” the Enterprise NX-01 was being decommissioned due to its age and damaged internal space frame.
Trip died in 2161 the Earth-Romulan War came to an end in 2160.

1:23 Fun fact, in the "Spaceflight Chronology", which was canon once upon a time, the Romulans had shields. It required the new LASER weaponry to counter.
5:37 The show wasn't really trying to be a prequel and I personally would not have gone with an "Enterprise" if not using the XCV-330. The thing that REALLY bugged me, however, was the fact that the XCV-330 was not in the painting that Archer had in his office when Shran commented on it about how those were the previous ships to bear the name "Enterprise".
I did read a enterprise novel. Trip became a spy for the Federation. To see the newer Romulan ships. Then in the end him and T'Pol hooked up, and they had kids.
Was Dr ploxxe able to reverse Trips section 31 surgical and genetic alterations?
Those were actually pretty decent books and kind of made up for the horrible final episode of "Enterprise". They gave some decent insight to the Romulan culture.
I read the thumbnail as St. Enterprise & now I'm never not calling any of them that.
the romulan war didn't occur until after the federation was established, the final of enterprise was pre war still
it was sad that enterprise didn't continue however as it was told they was going to reveal that archer was the future guy who was helping the suliban
romulans use simple fusion reactor until tmp era, they have more advanced magnetic and gravitational field technologies so have more efficient and powerful fusion reactors, in tmp era began to experiment antimatter warpcore but with no good results so after that thanks the advance gravitational field tech switched to singularity reactors.

In hindsight, Enterprise is an underrated show, although it never made enough of the "we've never done any of this before" concept, but I enjoy it.
I do like this design of Romulan Bird of Prey, and the NX-01 and NX-Refit are becoming some of my favourite designs, the design progression to TOS is really well thought-out.
I like the book I read in which trip didn’t die. It was a set up for him to join section 31. Also, I hate seeing an NX die. Can we see something where it wins so I can feel better?
I can actually see that. The difference is I am sure the Romulans had a lot more ships then just well 2 if you count the Columbia so they could have had 10 or 20 vs each in reality.
-Enterprise' should have had a 5th season. It would have been even better,..especially if the Refit was done to the NX-01, having the separate engineering hull added.
I feel like we got a little glimpse of the Romulan War in the Star Trek Legacy game at least. But it would have been a very cool season arc for Enterprise. Wished that show had gone on a little longer.
I wonder how many NX class ships it would take to bring down a D'deridex? :)

Since others already mentioned things that I thought of...
I think that the NX is more powerful without damage, but this was before the Romulans traded with the Klingons for better weapons and ship designs.
Basically, all cloaking technology in the alpha and beta quadrants are of Romulan origin.
(I'm not sure about the Pegasus) 😀 Maybe the cloak is Romulan, but the phase is Terran.
To be fair...if Enterprise had NOT been cancelled we would have seen the Refit version of the Enterprise and we would have seen the Earth Romulan War....at least like the first part of it. That's what Doug Drexler said anyways...could be wrong a little bit but he did say we would have seen the refit version of the NX-01. The Mirror Universe would have been revisited again too.
The so called FINALE of Enterprise really pissed me off. It was a fan service...I mean it wasn't a true finale for the show.... it was pretty much a TNG episode. I'd like to think that Trip didn't actually die. I mean hell it was a holo novel. Even though Troi stated, "It's sad he didn't know he'd come back from this mission". BULLOCKS I say! I am PISSED off at the series "finale" after all these years. If the episode was an actual Enterprise episode and they did NOT kill Trip in that episode then I would NOT have mind it.
"Minefield" was an good episode. I wished there could have been more conflict with the Romulans for the series.
Not surprised you took out the Romulan ships so quickly. I think the explosion of the first Romulan ship damaged the other one badly. That could be why you were able to take it out so quickly. I mean hell the explosion damaged your hull plating really bad.
I have to agree that I think the Romulans at this early stage didn't use quantum singularities for their warp cores. I think they used conventional warp cores like the Klingons.

If I remember right with the Vulcans letting Earth just advance with out the Vulcans looking over their shoulder all the time they did get shielding from I think the Andorians. I mean I know they did in the episode "Twilight" even though that was a future that ended up not happening at the end. I mean it's possible Starfleet could have developed shields on their own. Or at least the Vulcans helped them out and gave them the tech to develop their own shields. You are right they were primitive compared to say the TOS E and forward.
Yeah I agree the Romulan ships were the victors. One on one yes Enterprise was the winner.

Hmm... Enterprise didn't have photonic torpedo until the end of s2. Just had the mediocre normal torpedoes. That might of made a difference.
That's a very good point! Sadly I didn't have the ship with missiles. I think NX-01 would have lost without those Photonics 🖖
Picard season 3 actually gives them an out that the enterprise finale wasn't canon.
In the last 2 episodes of picard The Nx-01 enterprise was at the athan prime fleet museum in it's romulan war engineering hull configuration. We know the last episode of enterprise was the finale mission of the enterprise after the romulan war for the federation charter signing enterprise was shown pre-refit.
By this logic alone it cant be a canon ending anymore (thankfully)

I am very surprised the Enterprise didn't hold up gosh.. I just watched the show, and funny how, From Enterprise all to Voyager, DS9, all species warp and photons are same rate and only thing missing on Enterprise was shields.. hmm funny, all the others should be 100+ of years more than earth.. just saying, and in the show, Reed said, the mines had tri-cobalt devices inside them.. gosh. 200 later Voyager got them but forgot what other ships got them or even had them eeh.. Yes the ending of Enterprise.. for best words, *I was pissed.. and the way they did it.. Trip died* like they lost vision or care at that point.. before that Trip and T'Pol had a child... so, also, Vulcans knew about Romulans but never seen them, if supposed distant cousins, that I did not understand. Yes , true. both ships had it's ups and downs.. Still great battle Admiral.. 😊🖖
Yes, totally agree about the torpedoes. It is interesting how most of the species were at the same tech progression. Even the Klingons had a bit of a time with those Photonic Torpedoes. One thing that really bugged me about Enterprise was, the Phasers and Torpedoes could have been from Voyager. They didn't even change the sound effects! Many people consider the episode with Trip and T'pol to be the final one, which I do. It was still a sad ending though 🖖

But the refit wasn't seen in the final enterprise episode, so when did the Romulan war happen in relation to the final episode?
it was going to happen a season after the final episode. enterprise was meant to go on longer with more seasons. which would have concluded the Romulan-Federation war. but these new seasons was cancelled due to not being popular enough.
The version of Enterprise in the Episode however was heavily damaged from the mine not to mention didn’t have the Photonic torpedoes. Might be worth giving it a try without the. In another video
True, and romulans during this time didn’t have shields nor advanced torpedoes, they relied on cloaked mines to secure their borders, after invading specifically pre warp civilizations for resources, and their only weapons were heavy plasma cannons, which even the NX-01 had, and the phase cannons alone are more powerful than. Photonic torpedoes would WRECK them. It’s not till the romulan earth war when romulans start getting early shielding systems that work with their cloaks, and start spamming vastly superior torpedoes, but even then they have to swarm to take out the NX-03 and 4.
Yeah, the last ep of ENT was super weak. Especially with the TNG Pegasus tie-in. Completely illogical. 😢
Not that unexpected for me. The Romulans feel like they should be way more powerful than the NX, but in reality they are actually closer to evenly matched than you would think. That's why the Romulans expected to win the war, but instead got their a$$es handed to them.

Enterprise had more mileage in it and was just hitting it's stride when they cancelled it.
It was Paramount's fault as they pushed the writers who were burnt out after Voyager and wanted them to write Enterprise before they had chance to recharge.
The only good thing was we never got the ugly refit enterprise.
there is no reason why they cant de-canonise the last episode of Enterprise then make something better, inc romulan war :D
Yes Enterprise was a great series and the final storyline of the Romulan encounters was great and looked to be building to a fantastic story. But it was cancelled by an ao exec at Paramount who didn’t like Trek. And so ended the last good ST series.
