That is the most genuine hysterical unscripted laughter I think I've ever heard in a game video. It was both startling and endearing! This game looks like it has buttloads of charm already.
As soon as I heard "moonlighter elements in an aquatic environment" I was instantly hooked (harpooned?). This looks incredible, can't wait to try out the demo when it releases!
The "Chomper" Fish is a Titan Trigger Fish. Any experienced diver is wary around them, especially in nesting season. Their territory extends in a cone up from their nest and they're VERY territorial. I have seen another dive instructor have to get in between a Titan Trigger Fish and the divers she was guiding because they came a little too close. It left holes in her fins where it bit right through. I shall now forever think of them as Chomper Fish though. Thanks for that... :D
This is what representation in a game should look like. Judging by how Cobra acts, Dave's belly, and his green duffle bag. There's a definite retired mercenary feel. The characters are just extra enough to be relatable and the sound design pushes the immersion deeper. Definitely going to put this on my wishlist.

I have been watching him for years, from when he was still doing Let's Plays and Town of Salem to now. I don't always fully watch his videos, normally able to tell if I will like the game or not within the first ten or so minutes, however, I love giving his videos a quick look each day to see if there is a neat indie game that I must have. Thanks, Splat for the years of content and the countless amount of games that you have added to my life.

I don't even have to finish watching this video (but I will) to lay down my praise at your feet Splatter. Honestly, it's so so so nice to have daily videos to unwind with, and games that I would know nothing about prior to watching your videos. I am hard of hearing and decibel deaf in my ears and though this does not mean much to the outside world it is with great humility and appreciation that I still have the ability to understand you(with subtitles). My investment in these products is rather lacking without auditory input so to have you describe the worlds is how I interact etc. If this makes sense, I do not know. Keep doing you man, much love from the cold north.

Played it during the last steam fest and couldnt not agree more. Everything was perfect and the tease at the end of the demo is awesome. The only issue, surprised you didnt say anything, was the transition from boat to water. Wish it did not fade to black.

There was a sushi train in town, hole in the wall, not done up at all, but the chef was trained in the Tokyo Sushi Academy. No one went there, but it was awesome. Probably the best in Melbourne, but he went out of business due to a lack of customers.
That miss at 5:04 - I’ve had fish move out of the way after firing at them with a speargun myself. Some fish have such incredible reaction time they can notice an abrupt movement and bolt away after you’ve pulled the trigger and before the spear hits them. What isn’t realistic is the fish did a 180, in reality this only works when the fish bolts forward as they don’t have time to turn around. But I’d still say there might be some real world experience driving this game design.

So much sushi in this one. I also found a nice hole in the wall Japanese food place. Had his sushi credentials on the wall. The food was of course much better than anything I've had in years. Too bad I moved out of the area.

Not my kind of game, to be honest, I've just stayed because of the comments making remarks about the baseball bat thing. And I was not disappointed, SCG genuinely losing it was such a treat. :D Also, I am glad I did watch this because I genuinely like this, the gameplay looks actually quite interesting and charming and it's alway a plus if pixelart graphics (which I am not exactly a fan of) brings back fond memories from my Amiga 500 times. Also, 23:15, wait, did you just eat a puffer fish? Innards and liver included? Well, _technically_ the game should end here, because now you are dead. :D

This game is pretty amazing. It throws a lot at you, but it’s intuitive and it all flows together wonderfully.

Fun fact: with a harpoon gun that big and powerful, your shot would tear a tropical fish into pieces.
