I recently acquired the SpyOpera, must admit I am a fan of the classy look it gives off. Its kind of like attaching wood to certain things, makes it very non threatening for everyone!
After a lot of thought and saving up I just ordered a Spyopera. I already have a Kepara which is probably my favorite but a little too big for some occasions. I also got a Lionsteel Best Man slip joint recently. I love it too except for two hand opening. I have a Squeek (titanium scales and Elmax blade) slip joint that I kind of like. These are all part of my journey towards my ideal edc for affordable executive carry. I think the smooth, one handed opening of the Spyopera will really make me happy and be convenient. Assuming the fit and finish match the Best Man I will like the Spyopera better. It will come down to when I will put up with the hump and when I won’t. Looks like an awesome knife. I can hardly wait! Thanks for your detailed reviews. I count on you to give me an idea of what doesn’t suck. Oh and I did a quick look around and did not find and aftermarket scales for it. I’m fine with it since refried beans are the color of wood anyway.
I picked one up in May at the Spyderco Factory Outlet in Golden and couldn't agree more about wanting a shorter version of the pocket clip for this knife like the Bugout.
There's a chance those are not T6, but IP6 (TorxPlus). Put some TorxPlus bits in the mix--if it's TorxPlus, regular Torx will feel slightly loose. If it's not IP6, the IP6 bit won't fit in a T6 screw.
I'd like to see it in a denim micarta, a red wine, yellow ochre, and even a pale blue-green. Tan/black/olive are far too common, IMO. That said, this is the first new(ish) Spyderco I've been interested in since the Kapara.
The wire clip on my Lil Native is much shorter than the wire clip on my Sage 5LW. So they definitely make one, but i dont know if you can just buy the clip or not
Is there a creed where no one will review the Spyderco Caribbean lol...I have one and it's pretty good but no one really takes a second look on youtube

Yep. It's pinned, but only the skeleton. That means you can still remove the scales, pivot, and blade. Those are the parts that would require maintenance.
For a hundred years people put knifes in there pockets with no clip .I would just keep that knife in the bottom of my pocket . it's much less to get lost. That why they're called pocket knifes

Bush's baked micarta is my favorite.

For a lock back its an amazing knife. It's even semi fidgety. It's sharp as hell too
Never will I find a more favourited Spyderco.

Just ordered my first Spyderco. Got the smock and am patiently waiting for the Benchmade auto fact to come back in stock!!!
A lot of people remove the second detent ball for additional smoothness; if i owned one i would. Hope you enjoy though 🍻
The clip on the ferrum forge stinger is, imo, the best clip out there.
That knife reminds of the old Terzoula models from 25 years ago.
Really looking forward to the Spymyto! Been checking everyday since the announcement to pre-order
They should make scales that look like alligator skin.

That hump is too exaggerated for me. If they made an indent in the handle to accommodate the hole while reducing hump size, it’d be a native 5 killer
Absolutely love brown Miarta!

As I watched this I thought the same thing about it would look great in wine red color. Honestly, I like the list that you put as suggestions.
Anyone know what bearing size?
i almost hate the gap between the blade and the handle when closed. i like a lot the shape when opened.
Ordered some tools Sunday off your Amazon page thanks
I love my Spyopera. The Vallotton seems like it's in the same vein. I found the auto version recently but I just could drop $450.
Thinking about grabbing either the Spyopera, or the Giantmouse Ace Biblio in red micarta. What would you choose between the two?
Dude Ace Biblio for sure. No doubt.
@@bladeguru6358 thanks a lot man!
@@papakrall Bibilo has had some stock issues i’ve read but you only see the negative reviews never the positive.
Seeing the exposed rear of the blade bothers me

I want one
Bill rocks
Ohh I almost bought this!! Hmm. Might still grab one eventually😄🤙🏼
Dang i didn't know lionsteel was the OEM, their m390 is really different from knife to knife... gotta be lucky ^^
Heck yeah
Better rustic than rusty, that's for sure.
Its beautiful! If i can i would love to trade someone for the lionspy.
one of my current grail knives, that I'll probably never be able to afford...
Sure you will! Save a little here and there. Take $20-$50 out of each paycheck if that’s possible you eventually get there!!
That thing has always been one of my least favorite looking Spydercos. It's probably a great knife but that hump looks like a gecko or something.
Reminds me of a gator

Nick Shabazz?
@@cameronbottoms1118 u right he did one

Only you could spend 20 min reviewing a knife and fail to mention (or even realize) that it is pinned construction.

It kinda looks like refried beans hahahahaha
But I like refried beans
I love refried beans, you ruined nothing for me.
Pinned is a no go for me…
I personally don’t think anything with a spydie hole and that logo can look fancy
Bird's eye maple chaparral
Foling knife lol
Corrected. Thanks lol

Get rid of that ugly hole on the blade!
That’s basically just the LionSpy. The hole is necessary because it’s Spydercos take on the LionSpy.
That hole symbolically has a negative connotation.
