Got mine a few days ago. Love it! Very smooth action & very classy looking collaboration. Spyderco & Lionsteel had a baby! M390 is a favorite steel of mine, sharp right out of the box! Good job! Thanks for the review. 💌👱♀️
Same. Didn’t really like it at first, saw some videos, handled one from a friend, now waiting for them to come in again....MKM, those under that umbrella are killing it this year.
Love the hump, ever since I got my Firefly the Spydies with this feature instantly catch my eye. Very Lionsteel spine on this one, which personally I like. If this had a titanium scale side with frame lock then this would be perfect, not complaining though, $175 is a tough number though, usually when I see that tag I think of what I can get with $75 more.
Most Spydies I'm not crazy about at first sight, then you get them in hand and then I get it. I guess that's why the majority of my knives are Spyderco.
I like most about it, although i've seen in a review that it seems to be pinned, but also on bearings... Maybe i'm wrong. You're still missing out on the Spyderco Astute! Spydercos best design this year IMO. Need a battle to the death against the Civivi Mckenna.
hey brian, i really like it and am tempted to buy one. the trouble with me here in the uk i have a few knives and when i no longer require them i am pretty much stuck with them as we have no sites where we can sell them. i have some really nice mint knives which i cannot move on. one for instance pohl force mike 5 only 300 made i have number two , cost £240/$320....... i would accept £150/$200.....so i end up with alot of unwanted knives and it sort of stops my buying some that i'd like, great channel buddy, spyopera nice 👍
Hi there. Thanks for the review. I am on the fence between this one and smock m390. Which one is more all round to use. I mainly use it to open packages..and food prep. Sometime cut boxes and ropes. Thanks.
I have the lionsteel big opera and it's very nice. I'm waiting right now for FedEx to deliver my spyopera. I think it's a classy looking knife. Can't wait to feel the action of a lockback on bearings.
Okay, feel free to cite me for Spydie bashing, but if I ignore the somewhat different handle profile the blade is the same 'ole Humpty Dumpty we've been seeing for decades... LOL! I own somewhere around a dozen Spydies, however avoiding the icon look made in the millions, that vaulted Sal and Co. to fame... 😑 🙄🤔 Thanks for the review, Bryan!
Enjoy that smooth action while it lasts. It won't be long if you use the knife. It runs on bearings but it's pinned together, so the first time you get any funk or grit in the pivot, your action is ruined and you can't take it apart to clean and relubricate. Bearings on back locks are mostly pointless but bearings on pinned knives are idiotic. Other than that one gigantic deal breaker, it looks pretty nice.
If you hold one, the click it makes when the lock engages is the stuff dreams are made of. Mine was dull out of the box but stropped up well.
Is that a Spyderco with a sharpening choil?!? Someone call Hell, let em know a blizzard is on its way!
Lmao i got em on speed dial

The more I see this knife, the more I want it. Thanks for the review Bryan, I think you’ve just convinced me to pull the trigger!
It looks like a smaller version of the Gayle Bradley 2
I’ve got one on the way
Polished Mircata, crowned edges, Spyderco name, M390, wire clip...these are features i like in a folder
I appreciate the lanyard position and the wire clip, hopefully we see more in other models.
Same. Didn’t really like it at first, saw some videos, handled one from a friend, now waiting for them to come in again....MKM, those under that umbrella are killing it this year.
Getting mine tomorrow and I can't wait. Excellent review.
When he calls the Vallotton "old" and you've been a bladeforums member since 2005. I remember when the Delica 4 came out, lol.
I like it, high on my list to get this one.
I especialy like that polished micarta and the wire clip(that is wat the swayback needed)
I took the clip off of my swayback...much better now and fits nicely in an mkm leather slip!
Awesome knife - love mine!
Just got mine today! Love it!
Alright already, I’m getting one. No need to twist my arm.
Man I am loving it!!! Need it now
Love the way it looks - thanks for the review.

Miss you Slicey. Hope you come back to us soon.
Thing looks pretty sweet tbh, might have to get one.
I love the look of it,
Just ordered one! Great review SD! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻🇨🇦
Hahah, they do take a while to get used to , but after that, they are really cool. I am already used to Spyderco’s so yea I like it.
The looks and the action which is even better makes it a very sexy gents knife
Most Spydies I'm not crazy about at first sight, then you get them in hand and then I get it. I guess that's why the majority of my knives are Spyderco.
It reminds me a lot of the first generation Gayle Bradley.
I'm a micarta junkie so yeah this top the list.

Nice video and not a bad lookn blade. 👍

The hump is weird. But... it works. Steller in the hand
Has a very old school look to me! Hope you enjoy it. Just not my flavor. Thanks Bryan!
It looks like a lizard. Love micarta
It is so slick that the gap between the handle and the back of the blade when closed is really distracting.

Love it
There is a lot to like about this knife, but closing it isn’t fun, you have to be very careful cause it wants to cut you when you go to close it.
Do you still have it? Still highly recommend?
Rigmarole used properly, I love it!! Yet my autocorrect wasn’t aware it was a real word 😂
SEKW Is a great company !! appreciate the look at this one wire clip for the win. it's not for me tho Thanks Bryan ✌️ maybe I need to try itl LOL 😂
Boy that didn’t take you too long
Surprised to see that maxamet para 3!
Me too! I blame Metal Complex.
@@SliceyDicey I blame him too. I saw it one to many times and I just had to have it. Awesome knife. I'm about to order this if I can find it
Dude I love mine to death
I bought one..was that para 3 open all the way or does the blade have that angle?
It's a backlock, why couldn't they make the clip reversible? I'm so sad
Me too.
i like it thankd for the video

Thanks for the review, Bryan!
I’m gonna be down at sekw tomorrow 0.0
AWESOME👍👍
Give Chad a wedgie for me.
Lol I'll be off tomorrow - all day on Wed tho 👍👍
Chad Damron cool I’ll be down tomorrow through Friday for work
Slicey Dicey will do 😂😂
I gotta get one! I’m the micarta Natti Boi
Hey Bryan, off topic here, but which model lynch clip(deep carry)did you get to fit the Shaman? And are you using all 3 screws with it? Thanks tons.
I don't use one on the Shaman.
Slicey Dicey Gotcha, I’m probably going with the mxg, just a little worried about having only two screws.
@@jerrymillett3895 Don't know if you got the clip by now, but I have the mxg clip on my Shaman with two screws and it's solid. Rides very deep.
ugggg - hard pass - looks horrible up at the pivot when closed - the big hook / V gap.
Super nice knife. The sway back is super MEHH. I hate how it looks

You can remove the scales unscrew the pivot and slide the blade and bearings out similar to a one piece handle design like the lion steel sr knives.
@@toadstkr That commenter was very ill informed about how the knife is put together.
To small for the price.
