The more we hang on to this world, this experience, the material, the harder it is to see more clearly that this is passing by very, very quickly. Years ago we chose to make the sacrifice in school to forgo the party and study for that big final, because we understood the longer term benefit of passing the test and all the positive impacts of that. Similarly we need to clearly understand that this life is a proving ground, a preparation, and is an immeasurably small sacrifice when compared to an eternity of peace and happiness beyond all understanding with God.
@@rjskeptic5273 We don't fully understand love, yet we love. We don't truly understand the Universe, yet we study and learn. But we DO see the activity, the impact of these things and see truth in them... and that truth inspires a desire to plumb the depths of understanding. And God being God, gave us something to intrigue us for an eternity!

"Jesus, Mary, I love you save souls!" The above reparation prayer called, "The Act of Love," saves a soul & repairs 1000 blasphemies. As St Peter said, love covers a multitude of sins. Do your penance now. GOD bless!
I am 60 now, and I can say that my life has shot past. I don't know how many years I have left, but I intend to appreciate the time more than I did when I was young. No regrets, but making those changes that Fr. Mark spoke of is imperative now.
I do not think it is wise to assume your salvation. I wonder how unimaginably beautiful heaven is. Life goes by quickly, I agree. I feel like I just woke up 30 and now I am 31. I want to go to heaven. I want my friends and family to join me too. I should pray that my enemies enter into the gates of heaven. I think Jesus really wants us to think of others more - feed the hungry, clothe the naked, comfort the mourning, visit those in prison.
Heavy. This topic has been such a source of anxiety for me, but as I learned to believe in Heaven & Hell, I was given a way to process the space outside of my sphere of control. TY! 😇
I had a previous Bible Instructor that had been insisting that what happens after death is unknown. I ended up leaving this group because of this. After a few years of discerning this topic, I would say what happens after death is important even though much of us may be too focused on temporary things. After viewing Ascension Presents and Divine Mercy videos on UA-cam, my eyes have opened to the importance of Dogma and a conservative take on Catholicism. We say the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed for good reasons. It is right to remember! God bless! 🙏🙏🙏
I think it is such an important practice. It really helps one to focus on what really matters. Regarding being accountable, I am reading St Silouan the Athonite by St Sophrony, and you reminded me of this part: when he was young, he did something wrong, and his father -- out of love for him -- waited a full six months to correct him. Thank you, Fr. Mark-Mary, and your fellow of infinite jest. God bless.
Billy Graham almost lived to 100 and one of the last sermons he gave mentioned how quickly life passes. Part is because we only live in the present. Past is only a reference to our ever changing memories. While it is important to reflect on time we must do it in a healthy way. For people depressed or with trauma related conditions death is often a constant focus. As with everything in life we need to find healthy balance through Jesus.
Bless me father! I'm Aline, from Brazil. I'd love to add subtitles in portuguese to some of your videos here, so we could make it all more acessible. May you turn on the permission for subtitles to this one?
There are a number of philosophical arguments and maybe even arguments outside the sphere of philosophy that can rationally lead you to God, but the point is; if you don't pray you can't have faith. Faith is a grace from God and praying is always YOUR option. Pray for Him to increase your faith, pray a rosary and so on.

Thank you. Good reminder
If it's beyond all understanding why would you believe it?

Praying for your Mother, and for you Lydia. May God be near to you now 🤍

That's my favorite image of Saint Francis, with him gazing at the skull. Momento Mori!
That was so very beautiful. Such a beautiful invitation, and surprisingly, not scary at all. 🙂

God is a just and merciful judge, also is a source of our hope in heaven.

I will celebrate shabbat with my wife at the age of 95 years by the blessing of Hashem Amen
Thanks Fr. Mark-Mary for sharing your experience. God bless you.
❤ Very insightful, Father. Thank you!

Hmmm...why did his father wait six months to correct him?
Splendid endurance perseverance courage

You're a riot with the skull 🤣🤣🤣🤣I love all the scripture quotes. Thank you!
I understand the necessity of studies yet I do not understand why baptism is only once a year.

The Four Last Things are terrifying - I don't think you should be so sheepish about that - confronting the fear of that reality is part of the point.
Remember your death Oh christian soul! 👽😱💀✝️💒🙏👻😇🔥
I would wish I hadn't spend so much time on UA-cam. (This channel excluded of course. :)
If I'm not convinced that a god exists, then how can I freely choose to reject that god? 6:46

Rejecting the commandments of your conscience you are rejecting God.
