I wouldn't normally be interested in a "date just" hommage, but because the dial is so radical and not anything rolex would do, it is really appealing, a sort of oxymoron that works!
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
I have a couple Proxima watches and they are of good to very good quality. This one looks pretty cool if you are looking for a Rolex homage with an interesting dial, the red accents are interesting and not off-putting to me. Interesting all the way around, but not my style.....glad it doesnt have roman numeral....lol
I like it ,like someone else said get rid of the datejust bezel and I really like it ,great bracelet screws and on the fly adjustment. Proxima can't be accused of unoriginality with this one
Interesting watch. As an IT professional, this should be my work watch. However, I'm actually put off by the PT 5000 - I have owned one watch with a PT 5000 and it has the helicopter effect after being worn twice. I've checked and it means the movement probably needs a service. I'd have to think long and hard about it.
That's a very impressive dial Gary. Pity about the datejust bezel though . It ruins it. A normal steel bezel and no cyclops, this would be perfect. Excellent review as ever !
The collector in me says that it's nice but I'd probably give it a miss however the nerd in me says 'order order order'. At that price I'm going to have to keep an eye on my late night purchases as it's very tempting.
As weird as this is, I can see where people that work in tech or programming would buy it as a fun work watch. Would be cooler if it was a more of an original design….
Good video👍🏻 The dial seems to be well executed. I would prefer a different dial. Hopefully, along with this release they offer something non-keyboardish 😊
Everyone raves about SM, but to be honest, Proxima is the brand that impresses me the most from the Alix brands. I don't know why that is, but I just like what they do.
Proxima: "We're sending you a watch ahead of schedule so you can ready a review for the end of the month. However we've got an informal embargo on it, we've not got enough ready yet, the marketing materials aren't online, etc... so can you not talk about it yet?" Gary: "I just can't resist the temptation to show you guys..." Proxima: *bashes head on desk* :P
lol…although I think it’s more them wanting to benefit from the review going live as the watch is available more than them wanting to keep it a secret.
Well, plenty of square bobby textured dials out there (e.g. Tissot PRX), so why not put keycaps on them? Definitely gimmicky. I quite like it. Will they make an ASERTY dial for the French market, or a Macintosh keyboard for the Mac fans?
I kind of like it but if you are going to make a homage of the Datejust then use a Jubilee bracelet. I like the texture of the dial but they should have used something other than keyboards. Maybe something like machine turned design that would catch your eye? If they used the jubilee bracelet and the machine turned dial I would buy it. I think this is a failed attempt at something different that had great potential at least in my eyes lol.
Until you showed us the macro, I couldn’t tell what you were on about. What I saw was just a speckled dial. Once macro made the keyboard design clear, I thought it was mildly interesting, and deserved points for originality and risk taking, but in no way compelling. It struck me as an arbitrary, almost random mashup of one long-established design language with another. But there _is_ no natural connection between keyboards and watch faces - one is a manual interface device, the other is the original visual data display. So, for me, there's no synergy or design frisson from bringing them together. There _are_ hobbyists who deeply care about computer keyboards and even collect them. (As there are, or were, collectors of mechanical typewriters.) Maybe some of them would enjoy this as a novelty. But I suspect most are the type to prefer a quartz movement and digital display. So I'm really curious about whom Proxima imagines the audience for this horological camel to be.
That could be an excellent buy if they brought out a version without the cyclops that dial or the the fluted bezel.
The quality Ctrl looks good, I think they might Shift a few of these.
As a computer tech I have to have one.
Makes two of us!
@@barrettwbenton Glad to be in good company.

I didn't like it until the macro shot. This is very unique.
A little more “QWERTY” than I thought it’d be Gary!🤪🤣🤭
👏👏
A DJ inspired watch with a keyboard dial...this is very quirky...and a bit niche.
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Very unique and original.
Many thanks .
It's not though.
That is a pretty cool dial, thanks for sharing! 👍
Ok, now this looks funky in a good way.
Very cool looking watch & crazy idea! Haha! Very unique.
Will they come out with a Mac keyboard version?
I'm liking this a good deal more than I thought I would. Absolutely looking forward to that full review.
I didn’t think I’d land there but I actually think it’s pretty cool.
I have a couple Proxima watches and they are of good to very good quality.

Interesting all the way around, but not my style.....glad it doesnt have roman numeral....lol
I would have liked more discreet branding i.e. they should have used the same font used on the keys for everything.
It’s definitely good for a laugh or conversation piece
Pretty cool/different...I like it! I'm not really into the fluted bezel, though.
Someone got confused when the boss said we need a new dial type
I love it! Can't wait for it to be available
Proxima dares to experiment and try new dials. I am impressed but I hope they comes out with more vibrant colours with sunburst effect instead
Not bad, I am kind of wanting it.
You can't
I like it ,like someone else said get rid of the datejust bezel and I really like it ,great bracelet screws and on the fly adjustment. Proxima can't be accused of unoriginality with this one
Cool dial but I think it would be better suited with a square case.
Interesting. The perfect gift for your favorite stenographer. Proxima does know how to do bracelets right.
This is pretty cool. Would be cooler if it wasn't trying to look like a Rolex 🤮
Agree. They need to come up with orginal design elements of the case instead of copying the bigger brands.

@@michaelbell9811 These movements are great as long as they're in watches from slightly higher end companies...

I believe Hruodland wanted to do a 222 homage with a similar dial setup and Proxima found their blancs… looks funny!
I'll wear that anytime. Love watches that are different from normal products
Elle existe en AZERTY?

Wow, indeed a unique dial and nicely done. But can not understand where that minute markers are sitting on.
Great looking case and bracelet. They need to dump the datejust cues (bezel & cyclops), and put a decent dial on there.
As weird as this is, I can see where people that work in tech or programming would buy it as a fun work watch. Would be cooler if it was a more of an original design….
Instant buy for me ❤
It's definitely different that's for sure. Seems to be great value for money. Look forward to your in depth review.
As a regular keyboard user this is causing me both an equal amount of contempt and curiousity.
Now that’s unique ❤
Good video👍🏻 The dial seems to be well executed. I would prefer a different dial. Hopefully, along with this release they offer something non-keyboardish 😊
I need this, I want this and I will buy it. Though I hope it will also be available with SW200?
I've never seen a dial like that before. I don't know if I love it or if I hate it.
The word Cool to describe it is an understatement. 😅
There’s a reason why it’s never been done before 🤢
Very well done proxima. All you need is a unicorn key
The colors and look are giving my 70's Oster ptsd
More interesting than incredible.
Is there more than one keyboard layout for different regions? The America's, UK, Europe, Asia etc.
Are you Serious?
There is really no limit to what could be put on a dial. All that is needed is imagination. We need more!
Horse 💩
San Martin need to come up with orginal design elements of the case instead of copying the bigger brands.

Love this

Cool dial, but in the wrong style of watch.
Hate the Cyclops and fluted bezel. The value is exceptional though

Really cool..but needs to be bigger imo 🙏
It is a winner!
Just because it hasn't been done doesn't mean it SHOULD be done.
LOL! Darn but I like that funny watch!
I associate a flutted bezel with nugget jewelry....
Very qwerty, I mean quirky
Different dial for Sure! Not for me.
Will I buy it? No.
Is it very very cool. Yes.
Proxima and Cronos are much more interesting outfits than San Martin, yet get very little love...
They get loads of love
Just don't get the keyboard dial, does nothing for me.
That is seriously weird!
I like everything but the dial. Hahaha
1st thought, the herps, 2nd chicken pox, 3rd freckles, 4th dominos. Meh..
I would have bought that, but the Cyclops is a deal breaker.
It’s very easy to remove the cyclops yourself
@@davidc3903 Have you ever done it?
I hate fluted bezels.

Wow! What a shame they ruined it with 3 o'clock date and a cyclops ☹️
An automatic digital watch.
If the keys worked…
I'm glad they made it but it's not for me.
Quirkey
Not my cup of tea.
My 18 yo daughter says its cool.
So cool, but why they put it into a case for granddaddies is beyond me.
I was keen then i realised it was a keyboard. Wtf why
Is this Proxima’s attempt at a Smart Watch?
The rare Chinese original?
Quirky
Qwirky, but cool.
Well it's missing the Windows key, that's it, I'm not buying it.
I don’t get it ??!
Love it!
I hate fluted bezels, not my cup of tea.
Unsigned crown, unsigned clasp. Big no from me.
Absolutely not.
Fucking terrible and also amazing.
For all the keyboard warriors out there. A lot more of them then divers.
Ctrl+Z
What a waste of time! You don't show us the (ugly) dial until 4.20.
Probably one of the worst dials I’ve ever seen. Great if you’re an IT person I guess.
