Can you use the better press plate dies without the better press machine or hot foil machine? I thought I heard you can something along those lines, but wasn’t sure.

Yana, I have a problem using my better press. The plates have made an impression onto my platen. Is that normal? What am I doing wrong? Wrote to Spellbinders, but received no answer. Love your cards and videos. ❤
I’m not an expert like Yana, but it sounds like you’ve got too much pressure going through the plates when you run it through your die cutting machine - try removing the shims underneath the betterpress chase. If you’re not getting a good enough impression with all of them taken out, you can add the shims back in one by one until you find the “sweet spot”.
Yes, that's good advice. Remove shims, see if that helps. There are replacement platens available
