Another failure! OMG this happens all over! A local Middle school put in 8 courts, each fenced. The fence in 2' from the baseline and about the same on sideline. 2 weeks ago, an adjacent School District put in 8 courts. I was given heads up...looked at the pic and horrified. Plent of room for 8 courts, with center fence. They put 4 courts on each side 3' from baseline to fence! Meanwhile, they left 16'? of non used court. Once again horrified. I spent a few hours putting together letters/USAPA suggestions of surrounding area, reasons of why it would not work. Sent off to multiple people at top in School district. First response from superintendent the architect and contractor said it was regulation ? NOT the outside. They had drilled the holes for the nets but not set posts. Long story short, project has stopped and no doubt have to be repainted, costly $20,000? mistake, etc...including possibly re-approval from the State Board of Education? here in California. I am thankful I got the stopped before a total fail. These courts were built from a grant and intended not only for the school but the public in a community that has had some very terrible natural disasters. PHEW! Crazy how a contractor can be such an idiot, and ironic a school does not educate themselves on big money projects!
As a painter, country clubs, towns and even homeowners wanted to stuff as many courts into the space they had as possible thinking they needed to service as many players as possible. What you're showing in this video was common but is changing as people learn more about how to play the game. It is definitely moving towards fewer courts per space in order to have a little more room. For instance, they used to try and stuff four courts into one court, people only do two now.
thanks for the content.
Seems like a cheap trash barrier like they use on roadways would solve the problem rather than removing nets from courts.. that's about the dumbest thing I've seen on any court lol ..
Or maybe it is done this way so that people can bring their own net?
That would be 10 ft between courts and that’s not bad ! Stop wining !
I’m researching the idea of putting in 2 courts in a lot we have in town. It’s borders are close to roads. The lot is 150x60’ so I’m assuming we could make two courts end to end with plenty of breathing room. And high fences along road sides 👍🤔
Oh yea there is another city about an hour away did this! Once again horrified!
Amen brother. Beautiful video.
Just need to run a fence down the center of the courts
How long is this video?
No lie took forever like geez
