Duuuuudeee! Here I was searching on making my driveway into a pickleball court and talk about a blast from the past. Rando picked your video and within 20 seconds I was in my head going "Man do I recognize this guy from somewhere....." and then the BYU hat CEMENTED it for me lol. Your intonation and joke deliver hasn't changed at all Curtis, still love it! Looks like all is well man, thanks for the knowledge, quotes for a court like that are 40k in Texas, figure I could deal with some small cracks and save tens of thousands. - Ryan DiGiovanni
I’m a subscriber! Awesome detail, great pro tips, love the 2 year review. Most diy’ers don’t have the patience to wait for the results and share them.. good or bad. We’ll done!
I am VERY IMPRESSED with the construction of and the finished product of your pickleball court. As a pickleball amateur, I love playing on it. In fact, let’s schedule a doubles rematch! Ps. I recommend watching this video just for the entertainment. 🤗
My dad wants to build a pickleball court I think he might have his work cut out for him 😅 but dude you did a GREAT JOB I would be super proud of that !
This is a really awesome video. Love the 1 and a half year follow up at the end after 2 winters! Did you have to resurface the concrete with muriatic acid? I’m just curious where you got all your directions and steps from to do all the prep work.
Good call. I tried using a string, but you have to keep good tension on the line to ensure there is no wiggle. Not insurmountable, but the stiffness of the tape measure made the process a little easier/fool proof, at the expense of my favorite tape measure...
I’m getting ready to do almost the exact same thing! Basketball and pickleball. I even like your exact same colors. There’s a Sport Master distributor nearby so I’m going to visit with them soon. Our court size is 48x30.5. What did it cost you for all the paint and prep stuff if I may ask. Thanks for making the video by the way. I’ll be referencing it again I’m sure.👍
Awesome job! Has anyone used this technique on a driveway that you actually sometimes park your cars on? I have a very long driveway but we drive on it in order to get to the garage where we park. We are in Florida so we do not have the snow factor but don’t get lots of rain to hopefully clean any car or tire marks. Thank you!
Thanks for the video! You made me nervous though with the kinked water hose splattering acid with no eye protection, and your curious daughter peeking in at the acid. 😱
Hey Shane great job man looks clean. I was also wondering about your neighbors and if the noise is a problem. Have they mentioned anything about the noise?
Great job- wishing to do this in our HOA on nice cement court and nervous to start on nice cement basketball court. What tape product did you use for line? What type rollers and sizes used? Asking because I didn’t see those items listed. How many total days to allow from start to finish to allow all coats to dry correctly. Thank you
I have the same slab and ready to start the finishing of it. Thanks for the video, it was great. Did you put a vapor barrier down before pouring the concrete? Thanks
Thanks for the comment. I put a complete list of supplies in the video description. As for whether or not I'm happy with filling the cracks, time will tell. At about 2 years in, I'm happy. But if the cracks start chipping, then I may regret it!
If you don't want weeping under the tape, do a first coat with the same color as the court then 2nd coat with white. Then a light touch razor blade when you pull the tape up.
I saw someone on reddit do one and they said cost of concrete was 16k, and they had a company do paint and lines for 6k - but the owner's close friend was the contractor, so lets round that up to 30k. Other items could include: lighting, multi color, short fencing, permanent net poles/premium net. All things to consider.
You friend was robbed! My friend just done this whole process (including concrete slabs) with this video as his inspiration, from start to finish at less than £7,000

Thanks for the sub!
I am resurfacing my 30 your old pickleball court as I had sport court tiles on it. I have all the stuff and currently power washing the court.
Nice. Good luck!
Great job on the video and explaining everything!!! I just got my 50'x30' slab poured and I'm going to attempt the exact same process.
Looks great! I’m in the early planning stages of building a court in my backyard and this video helped a lot!
Thanks - good luck!
Congratulations👍, I'm planning to do this. How much did it cost?

Great job, it really inspired me to do it at my own court, my court need attention asap thank you so much for this video, saludos desde Cuzco 🇵🇪

This is fantastic, great job. Very jealous, would love to of seen a few points played on it.
Pretty good for an ME. Thank man! Gonna do the same thing out here along the gulf coast. Go cougs ('04).
Fabulous job. FYI. Your chalk line can be used as a plumb bob and to scribe circles so you don’t have damage your tape measure

You inspired me!❤
I’m looking forward to playing with you sometime 😅.
Thanks! I've heard that you have some tennis skills...they'll probably translate to Pickleball nicely.

Did your concrete pad have a vapor barrier? Also after time did shoe marks pop up? Thanks, you did a great job

Thc makes me question my life decisions. That's what I enjoy about it!
That was awesome! Good work
Do you feel like that length is ok? I was even going to try for a 45x30. What are your thoughts on a shorter court?
Really great video! Thanks for sharing!
I think you did a great job brother!
I’ve already placed my concrete slab, How much was the pain kit from sports master?

Great video Dad!
Thanks!
Looks great man thanks for sharing the process
Great job and great video
I have the same slab and ready to start the finishing of it. Thanks for the video, it was great. Did you put a vapor barrier down before pouring the concrete? Thanks
Come down to Texas and put me one in!
You did a great job
Good stuff. This is the way.
Thanks! And great screen name - it basically sums up my life.
Great Video. Can you list which products you used? Also wondering if you are happy with filling the cracks.
Thanks for the comment. I put a complete list of supplies in the video description. As for whether or not I'm happy with filling the cracks, time will tell. At about 2 years in, I'm happy. But if the cracks start chipping, then I may regret it!
Looks amazing!! What was the total coast?
This helps give me perspective on chemical engineering.
Awesome video
Thanks!
Hi Shane where did you buy , the primer and the paint color ? I live in Draper
Thank you.
What was the total cost for primer/paint. I am doing a 30x60 and it’s coming out to about 4k with line taper…….trying to decide on DIY vs. hire out
Dam 4K seems high for 1800 sqft brother. I can imagine it’d cost 5-7 with a contractor
Nice. Can I ask how many gallons of acrylic resurfacer that you needed?
I put a complete list of supplies in the video description. I ended up using seven 5-gallon buckets of resurfacer.
Wow great documentary!
Thanks!

could you explain a little about light touch razor blade?
Thanks for the tip. The Stripe Rite did a decent job after I got the hang of it.
Great job!
Thanks!
What type of lights did you go with for the court?
You crushed this ! #WellDone 🙌
Hi
I’m interested in making one of these courts at my house can you approximate cost?

I was told a vaper barrier is a very important step ..
Did it hold up ok a year later?
How much did that cost ?
Impressive
Could you comment on the total cost all in on the finished product?
I’d say under $800 not counting the cement .
You really only needed a foul line for Your basketball lines . No fouls being called . At least you made it a light color .
Makes me think about the average guys idea of engineering.
That "DIY" is pretty much a pro job. lol
You have a wonderful kids they can really play basketball.. Excellent 🎉😂
I always love the Blue colour
Always good to bring out the acid around children
just give up basketball.🤣....a pickleball court or tennis court lines should not have any other permanent lines
Definitely better ways to do it
Cool. Let's see your video.
Aww did little baby get his feelings hurt🥺🥺🥺
@@Btc_bott LOL this video hurt your feelings. Go cry more.
