Super Mario 64’s Hardest Stage: Tick Tock Clock | Level By Level
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 гру 2024
- Super Mario 64 is filled with a ton of super iconic stages but one of the ones that seems to come back the most would be tick tock clock. With it being referenced in the mario kart series it’s safe to say that tick tock clock is one of mario 64’s most iconic courses. However on top of that, I would also argue that tick tock clock is super mario 64’s hardest stage. Today in this episode of level by level I’ll be analysing this course to see what makes it so difficult. Then of course we will rank all of its stars into a tier list!

10:16 speaking of this Thwomp though I really like someone's headcanon I've seen where this is the Thwomp in Bowser's Castle (Mario Kart 64). He was imprisoned because he helped Mario get a star and committed treason
Zoomzike? He made a video about that thwomp (named Marty)
@The_Prince250Marty has more than Infinite strength now and had to be sealed in the castle.
Odyssey remember that we will wait for you. You don't have to pressure yourself to make a video every week if youre too busy with school.
Part of me agrees with you.
Another part of me wants those Sunshine and Galaxy videos he mentioned in the outro.
@YoshiAteTooManyYoshiCookies I don't know if I have it in me to watch a bunch of videos of odyssey central slandering mario galaxy...
@@BlueMarioGaming to be fair, he doesn't HATE the games, he just likes them less than the other 3D Mario titles.
Actually, we're gonna throw 2 million tomatoes if Odyssey doesn't upload 3 videos a day.
Npc comment (im sick of seeing these comments)
[1:04] I like bits like this in your videos. The line delivery is always well executed.
[6:38] This Star is named after “The Pit and The Pendulum” by Edgar Allan Poe.
Well, it’s about time you did a video on Tick Tock Clock. (AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA IM SOO FUNNY, KNEE SLAPPER FRFR)
I am rofl’ing!!!!!!!!!
GET OUT!!!
Finally someone else who likes TTC. One thing you didn't mentioned is the DS version makes quite a few changes to the stage, mainly to the beggining section, where they extended the floor at the beggining of the stage, making it less likely you will fall off the stage early on, wich I think it's a nice change, since it now focused on building the dificulty as it goes on, instead of punishing players right at the start with death.
Time, huh? Thanks for the tip.
Death Battle reference.
Ahh Tick Tock Clock, a very unique stage plagued by 64's jank. If you've seen the pannenkoek video, you know how much of a pain the invisible walls here can be
One of the better stages in the game, but DEFINITELY the hardest for 100 coin challenge. Theres only like 105 coins total. It really lets a player flex their platforming skills.
"Hardest Stage: Tick Tock Clock"
correction: Title Screen
I feel like a combination between a cookie & a clock level would be amazing visually. I think the really need to combine themes more.
I could never get through the last few levels in Super Mario 64 before like Wet-Dry World, Tall Tall Mountain and Tiny-Huge Island. They all seem so difficult to me.
We really got another 64 Level by Level before another Odyssey Level by Level
Back again to my favourite nintendo youtuber!
I love having all of my progress of this stage get undone by hitting one invisible wall that I had no way of seeing, thank you mario 64.
also how dare you for insulting my goat tall tall mountain, i can't believe you would do something like this i'm shaking and crying rn.
I've played Mario 64 a lot recently and somehow never gotten hit by an invisible wall.
I think I'm The Chosen One.
No way the level from Mario Kart DS
4:16
It's also great that the timing gimmick isn't completely unexplained; the Toad outside the level hints that the time on the clock is important.
The hand joke alone warranted a like for me
First.
Tick Tock Clock is my favorite level.
I love how when you talked about the stomp on the thwomp star, you played Thwomp Ruins in the background from mariokart 8. Nice touch :D
Amazing job on this video!
Bro said clock 7 times in the first minute. Is this a clue?
Mario
(it's a me, mario.) - mario mario.
Super Mario
luigi
I love how Mario 64 managed to make such a memorable level inspired by the Mario Kart Track. It really gets you to think about the potential these courses have to become mainline levels
15:00 did bro switch sides
needs hip hop clock
Hey Odyssey Central can you give me a hand
Odyssey Central: 7:58
I like tick tock clock since it has the best use of advanced movement of any stage but its also hurt the most by 64s jank (I think you showed it pretty well in the footage)
Title: Super Mario 64's Hardest Stage
Me: Wait, didn't he make a video about Rainbow Ride already?
YESS NEW VID DRPOPPED
Time? Clock? Tower!?
Clock Tower on the Super Famicom reference!?
...
Scissorman??
1:07 not the switch lagging running a 28y game 😭
what a way to start a video.
Monke Watch
Became a top 0.3 odyssey central viewers before gta 6
The fog was included to hide the shorter object render distance this stage requires due to its large amount of objects
I love tripling jumping off the stairs at the beginning of this level and diving to barely reach the area behind the pendulum. It’s unnecessary but fun
The invisible walls is probably why players don't like the stage much.
I would personally love to see a level by level on hazy maze cave next. It was always one of my favorite levels and there would be a lot to analyze.
I do think Rainbow Ride is tougher cause patience is sometimes I struggled with more than vertical levels. If you never knew how to stop the moving parts of the clock though this could be a greater challenge than the other level.
Vertical stages tend to be trickier due to one mistake potentially undoing ALL your progress 😅
I've never knew that the timing of the platforms could be change. That's really cool actually, especially for this theme of a clock.
Cartoon Reviewer Mario still has his arms crossed so this man still makes me laugh before the video starts
Probably my favourite level in the game.
The clock speed isn't technically a puzzle, since there's a Toad who hints about it.
Where's batman 👿
I love your content ❤
Very excited for when you eventually do a Sunshine Level by Level
Time...
Time......
Time is...
The Ruler of Everything....
tally hall reference????!?!!!
I love tick tock clock in Mario 64 especially in Mario kart 8 deluxe
Tick tock, makes me like I'm windstruck
you forgot the easter egg where if you generate dust on certain frames for 39 days near a pendulum you crash the game
I’ve always found the 100 coins star on Tick Tock Clock to be the hardest star in the game
10:42 I was too bad at the game to deal with star 4 with the clock moving so i beat it with time stopped.
Making videos is more important than university
I was watching your rainbow ride video when this came out lol.
One of my favorite stages
S TIER?
I expected, B Tier at the very most, I guess you're just good like that lol
Something harder then tick tock clook is waiting for your videos to come out
Tick tock clock should have used the song clockwork crafter
"The fog is coming the fog is coming"
Hey speaking of Mario Kart, I rewatched your "Will there be more DLC after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" video (the one with Gold Dry bones in the thumbnail (dry bones for smash)), and I just have to ask: Why did you put 2 jumpscares at the end of that video!?!
Also did you know that Tick Tock Clock has a skybox?
Can't wait for your Mario Kart 8 Deluxe All Tracks Ranking video.
Design-wise, it's a pretty unique level with its whole clock theme and lots of moving parts that can make it pretty challenging. Also, I really like it in Mario Kart DS too! 🕰️
The Toad next to the clock basically tells you about this feature. I guess, Odyssey Central hates Toads.
I really don't like the stage. Imo it's the second worst in the game. You have to go the sae route over and over again and if you slip up or run into an invisible wall, you're dead.
You should rank every mario 64 star :)
Time, doctor Freeman?
Should’ve uploaded at noon
Did you read my mind?
Not me almost about to make a comment about 64 Central
Just in time!
Is Mario super? Also I gotta say I do like this stage, but I think it’s really annoying how many times you have to climb up to the top, because you get kicked out every time you get a star
Nice vid❤
You have to be an absolute CHAD of a level to get your own Mario Kart track based around it with the same name 😌
super mario 64 is a smash
Mario predicted tictok!
My mom has owned a N64 with mario 64 since it released, to this day her long time save is missing 1 star, that star is the hundred coin star in THIS level. She has never seen yoshi before 😭😭
3:58 still tick tock clock 💀 those who know
When are we getting UA-cam Clock, Instagram Clock and Snapchat Clock? Nintendo please
What about Facebook Clock???
You arent going to read this are you? I just wanted to let you know you are my second favorite super hero after batman and banana peel
I don't think Tick Tock Clock is THAT hard, I think the hardest one is Rainbow Cruise
Or maybe I think it's harder because I fucking hate that level, who knows
(invisible walls)...
Hardesr stage is bowser in the fire sea actually
let him cook
YES
I never ended up beating this game as a kid because of this level 😭
Ok
I'm somewhat of a TikTok clock myself
12 Minute Gang
No views in 44 seconds, he fell off 😞
Fourth
Now I can say that, but I wont
Was that because of that shitty tf2 meme? Was that because Im first? Doesnt matter!
Or first
Skill issue
Mario be looking like a cartoon reviewer avatar with his arms crossed like that 💀
First
I’ve always hated Tick Tock Clock. The last two worlds in Mario 64 are completely awful and they’re the main reason as to why I never want to 100% Mario 64. It’s such a cool idea for a level, but gameplay wise, it’s definitely one of my least favorites
skill issue 🗣️ (but its a vaild skill issue bc this level is pretty hard)
I mean, if youre like me and spent 5 hours watching a documentary about how Mario 64 was beaten with the least amount of A button presses, then yes, hands free, Tick Tock Clock is the hardest stage on the game.
