I’m a redskins fan, but I miss the Houston Oilers. I loved that team. Moon was awesome. And those receivers were legit...the “Fab 4”. Nice uni’s too.

Moon was good but not awesome. He wasn't a championship calibre QB. That first series when his knee touched the ground was indicative how Moon responds. He should have hurried up to the line and had the ball snapped before a timeout could have been called for a review. He just lollygagged up to the line and waited.

You miss the Oilers (I do also), buit I miss the Redskins - and I'm a Raiders fan, and my sister was a Redskins fan before the name change - I mean die hard Skins fan- sad to see society made the name change. I'm boycotting this year, I can't deal with the politics I WANT FOOTBALL.

@@jeremiahrose4681 - me too man. I’m a die hard skins fan. It’s hard to swallow honestly. And now, I’ve gotten attached to the “Washington Football Team”, I love the organic simplicity of it. But of course, that will be changed next year to something probably dumb. But I’ll still root for them, always, and they’ll always be the Redskins to me.

As a huge Washington fan, I’m not shocked we struggled this game. Houston obviously had a very good squad that year, but we came off an emotional win against the Giants the week before who had beaten us the previous 6 games. This game had let down written all over it and they’re kinda lucky to pull this out.

I'm not a Redskins fan but I remember this team. I was like 12 y.o. and I remember just how dominant they were that year. I mean just demolished teams. And I remember how awesome rypien was that mvp season. Definitely one of the best teams ever. They had the number one offense and defense that year .

Wilber Marshall was an absolute beast for both the Bears and the Redskins. Won two Superbowls, was a 3-time pro bowler and got snubbed for 3 more. Also came in the top 6 in the DPOY award 3 times. He is basically forgotten these days, and travesty that he hasn't been elected to the HOF.

1991 Redskins had all-time greatness all over the place, so complete, efficient, and explosive. 1991 Eagles D was truly legendary, and playing more disciplined made all the difference. But the O? When Jim McMahon was in there the team could pass, but there was nothing to fall back on in regards to the run game. The Oilers could've won this game, but the Eagles pummeled the Oilers in the dome.

I used to debate that Byner was the best all around running back in the game at the time, sure Thurman Thomas was more explosive but Byner was a game controlling runner, an excellent receiver and a dominant blocker who could play the H back as well as any tight end, niether Thomas or Craig in their prime could do that

Imagine having a multiple pro bowl Tackle limping off the field and his replacement,,, a hall of famer . Jacoby and Grimm. The Redskins had even more depth on that team, Ray Brown, future pro bowler was on the bench, and also Ed Simmons who I doubt went to a pro bowl but was one hell of a great lineman. What a solid team with solid depth not just on the O-Line but in all phases of the game.

This is classic Oilers. Their M.O. Outplayed Washington, but couldn't do the little things. Like make clutch FG's. Or run for key first downs. I remember distinctly flipping between this game and the 49ers/Falcons game that ended with Michael Haynes catching the Hail Mary that basically kept the 49ers out of the playoffs. Two low scoring, but intense games. Used to be that was okay. Now you hardly ever see them anymore.

The Oilers did NOT outplay the Redskins. The Redskins rushed 35 times for 154 yards (4.4 avg) while the Oilers rushed 16 times for only 25 yards (1.5 avg) Not even close! The Redskins also dominated time of possession and 3rd down conversations. The only reason Washington didn't blow the Oilers out was because of self destructive turnovers.

The Texans name is just so...bland and the uniforms are as well, but ultimately the blame is, of course, the ownership of the Titans. For example, back in 2018, the Texans threw that idea out there of using the uniforms as a throwback and the Titans organization said, "That's a hard no." At least the Browns got to use their name again after the Ravens were formed.

Gibbs did a great job coaching around his short comings and putting him in situations where he could thrive... its why he wasn't good with other coaches. It actually took Gibbs a few seasons to be able to create the ideal situation for Rypien to thrive in. Mark had the best deep ball I have ever seen but he was crappy in the redzone. Gibbs would run a lot and force 8 or 9 into the box then unleash the deep ball to avoid the redzone.

And some idiot named Ian Howfield ruined it for the Oilers by missing a field goal that could have won it for them that day. Oh and btw, the Oilers waived him the next day as a result of that botched FG and was immediately replaced by highly accurate PK Al Del Greco. If only the Oilers had signed Big Al at the beginning of that season. Hmmmm......
