The '91 Bears played the Bills and Redskins in back-to-back weeks and didn't come close to winning either game. But after this one, Ditka correctly forecast that the Redskins would be that season's Super Bowl champions barring any major injuries, saying they had the complete package and no other team compared, including Buffalo. He said the Bears could have beaten the Bills had they played better, but couldn't have beaten the Redskins in any circumstance.
Yes! I remember watching this in 91. Two playoff teams with a combined record of 9-1. Not a great game for the skins or either offense but I still love defensive battles
Thank you a ton for putting this game up! I'm gonna put up the '96 week 2 game later today for our Thursday game. Do you have the week 1 matchup against the Lions? That's the only game from '91 I don't have.
Yes. I'm sorry. Awesome of you to put this up. I'm a fan for 52 years. I'm excited about the 2024 season. They have signed 21 players through free agency and they have 6 of the first 100 picks in the draft. Awesome
@@lzv6990 I remember watching that game and thinking if I am The Bears I am asking how do we pick someone off FIVE TIMES and lose? That game is on You Tube BTW. True defensive struggle
Ditka losing 2 straight playoff home games bs Washington showed how much better of a coach Gibbs was then Ditka. Inexcusable to lose in consecutive years. Starting Flutie in January’87 was a colossal mistake. The following year, my Bears managed to lose again to Washington, even after taking a 14-0 lead. That’s awful.
The Redskins were just a force to be reckoned with in 1991.
Thanks for the sharing the great memories.😅😊

The Skins played some great teams in the 1991 season.
The bears blow!!!
@@christopherdelgaudio9484The Bears didn’t blow in ‘91. They were a pretty good team, but far below the elites in the NFC

No, I don't have it.
Can't wait for that week 2 1996 Redskin/Bear game.

But they are no longer the Redskins.
sounds like since '72 and Super Bowl 7...likewise
“This is one of the few places in the NFL where they cheer the weather”
I literally read your comment as soon as they said this on the video. Trippy 😂
They are considered by many as the most complete team as far as superbowl comparisons.
How big were these Redskin/Bear games? Well....Pat Summerall and John Madden called them 5 straight seasons from 1987-1991.
Skins owned The Bears. 3 straight from 89-91 and eliminated them from The Postseason in 86 & 87
The Bears picked off Mark Rypien 5 times in 1990 and still lost.
