Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. - Навчання та стиль

Thank you Carl for taking the time to explain your sanding system. Great to see and I will be trying this method on my next project. 😀

Nicely done Carl! Hope that you guys have a great weekend! 👍👍
Thank you Steve!! You have a great weekend too :)
I surprised myself by watching a video about sanding! Lol! Good info, I do pretty much all my wet sanding with walnut oil, but I get mine from the grocery store. It works great and makes my hands feel good! Thanks for sharing Carl.
Take care, Dave
Thank you Dave!! It's good stuff!! Have a great weekend!
Thanks. I have been using these products for a while and you just helped me improve my sanding and use of the Pens Plus greatly!!
Great to hear it Garry, thank you.
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge

Thank you Douglas! I love this stuff, but then again I like that satin finish. Take care

Thank you Kris!! :)
Great tips, Carl. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Cameron!
Great explanation Carl
Thank you Doug!!
Awesome tutorial Carl!!!
Thank you buddy!!
I think the oil finish is beautiful. Yes I like shiny too but some of the finishes people use can look like a shrink wrap plastic finish and even feel like plastic. The warm glow is what makes the pieces. I use Ack's sanding paste and restoring paste. It is shiny but you still feel the feel of the beautiful wood.
I love the oil too! The natural look is my favorite. Have a great weekend :)
Thanks so much for the very interesting video, lovely piece of wood i must say, really gorgeous finish….take care you two as always from south africa
Thank you so much Val!! Have a great weekend :)
Great video Carl.
Thank you very much Jack!!
Fantastic video Carl.
I'll have to get some Walnut Oil and try to sand this way.
Take care my friend.
Cheers, Huw
Thank you Huw! It really does work great! Have a great weekend!
THANKS carl that was a good video. weldone.
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Jerry!!
Enjoyed your video
Thank you so much!!
Thanks Carl, I have often sanded with walnut oil but found that it would dull without a finish and was unsure of how to then proceed. I now know how long to wait and that I can apply a finish on top.
Thank you Harvey! I'm glad the video helped :)
Hook up something to hold your dust fan hose in place.
Nice tutorial buddy 😊😊🦾
Thank you brother!!
welldone
Thank you
Good video, I have been using Acks paste and polish, will have to try using the Walnut oil. I want to become your supplier of blue shop towels
lol Thank you Paul!! I really love the Walnut oil! It brings the richness out in the wood.
Thank you so much for showing how you are sanding. Most turners never show this step and so you are always left wondering how they do it. Do you always use sandpaper or do you sometimes use Abranet? Do you clean Abranet since it lasts longer? Thank you.
Thank you Dave,
I use Abranet and yes clean it with soap and water.
Pens Plus reminds me of the OB Shine Juice Braxton used. does it work and feel the same or similar as that?
I'm not sure I've never used the Shine Juice.
Do you use up more sandpaper with the oil sanding? My local stores don't carry the mesh sandpaper. Will it still work with the regular types?
It lubricate the sandpaper so you use less. It doesn't work well with paper sandpaper.
Carl. How do you clean the grit out of the abranet?
Should have said after you sand with the walnut oil?
I just keep them and use them one the next project. Just apply more oil and it will clean itself out.
