Great first video, big up for going for it, I've subscribed and look forward to more, keep going dude 👍
I got this watch for a screaming deal from Ashford. Very nice watch, a little light on the specs, but this doesn't bother me at all. I also have a Smiths Commando, and Rolex OP, but the Zeno seems to be my daily wearer. Even though it is a homage watch it is a homage of a watch model that is no longer made, so I am fine with the Zeno.
Thanx for watching and for comment. This watch seems to be my go to everyday as well.
Just got mine from Ashford 36mm. Mine came with a weird bracelet not the one in the video. No logo on the clasp even. Did you receive the same bracelet?
@@djps312 Hey. Mine came with an oyster bracelet and the clasp has ZENO WATCH and BASEL engraving. I wonder if due to demand Zeno is trying to keep up, maybe putting on bracelets from wherever they can find them, that may be yours. I know that there are different variants of this watch, some older models are not Swiss made and come with Japanese movements and considered a homage to a homage, some other newer models have a brushed bezel. The past Zeno's are a little murky.
@@Watches-r-us Thank you for the response! Yeah mine definitely didn’t come with the original bracelet. Contacted Zeno and confirmed the bracelet is not original. Wondering if Ashford changed it out or something. Aside from that, I’m loving the watch looks and feels. The bracelet is my only gripe with this, feels really cheap, hollow, and the pins are like the flat ones. Bummer. Did you get the 36 or 38mm?
@@djps312 I did get the 36mm 6704, mine does have pins and no screws. Good luck with the bracelet!
Hey,
this was a very interesting and informative video for me. And for your first one - very good. Also thank You for taking time in this video, We can see you thinking 🙂...very nice in this times .
But i think Your focus problem in some situations would be much better by using a uni coloured background. Your background with so many sharp lines and edged will always catch the focus much better then the presented piece. I hope, my german english was understanable 😁
Greetings from Germany, Marko
I've had mine for almost two years now... love it! When I travel it's the one on my wrist! Pool and Sea swimming ...remained in perfect shape!
I almost bought this one, but opted for the Steinhart Adventurer instead. No real regrets. The quality of the Steinhart is really pretty good for the money- and also a bit cheaper than the Zeno as well.
I picked up the Steinhart GMT Ocean and the Ocean 39 black ceramic. The quality is very good! Really a great value, really turned me into a Steinhart fan. I was thinking about getting the Adventurer, but I already had the Zeno for that itch, but I am still tempted.
Keep going very good for first time. I was looking at the same model and still not sure to pull the trigger.
Omg..just came across this review and I just purchased the Zeno super precision just 10 mins prior to bumping into this review. ❤
Thanx for watching. This video is so bad 😂😂😂 it was my first
Nice review. Thinking of getting one. What’s the thickness from case back to crystal?
The thickness is 14.9 mm
Great job.
This is the most correct homage to the Rolex 1016, the acrylic Chrystal and the printed on numbers is accurate, the newer explorers had applied numbers and in my opinion doesn’t look as good. Check out my review on the same watch but in 36mm
No it's not the most correct. It shares proportion problems with the Smith's. The Incipio was probably the most correct, but it had oversized numerals.
I have never handled an Incipio so you could be correct but that being said I have owned a Rolex 1016 and the Zeno Zex and it is extremely close
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 One of the distinctive aspects of the 1016 is the proportion of dial to case. The Zeno and Smith's both have smaller dials, with too much space between the bezel and the circumference of the numerals.
I don't believe this is a homage watch but a watch on it's own merits. Are there not many brands of jeans. Do you call them homage jeans because it's not Levis ? Thank you for sticking up for just a working man. I do have an Airking but after my last service charge I plan on selling it. Also note the original explorer had printed dials. Just Fyi.
Thank you I freaking sold my Airking after I paid over $780 to service. I sold it 2 months later
Does your watch make another sound apart from the ticking? Mine does and I am a bit concerned.
That’s weird. Mine does not make any other sounds besides the movement.
I believe 86% for Swiss made.
50 atm! mineral xtal! the zeno is a rip at $700
It’s a good deal actually. I never understand why people get bent out of shape over 50 meters of water resistance or 165 feet. If you are a diver going down to those depths, then you obviously would be wearing a legit dive watch, not this thing. That being said. 50 meters is more than over kill for swimming. Showers. Etc etc.
These can be found at a deal, with a little patience and searching, usually Jomashop or Ashford. Mine was $350 new. That is a good price point because it is a little light on specs.
Go make some more.
Watch is OK the old new stock AS 5206 is very poor and will be huge headache for anyone who buys it , stay clear get smith's everest .
Smith's reputation for customer service as seen on forums is non-existent. Mathey-Tissot and Armida have outstanding customer service.
The Zeno, Smith's, Armida, Addies, Mathey-TIssot 3rd generation 36mm, and the Incipio all more or less fail to capture the magic of the original 1016, and if what you want is to recapture that magic, buying the fails just encourages more fails. All of these watches cash in on the awesomeness of the 1016 while also depending on the uneducated eyes of the buyers. They are using the 1016 while not doing it justice, it's like a perpetual shell game in which the sellers are using your ignorance as well as your desire to sell their half-asped watches. Educate your eye and hold out for getting it right. Rolex stopped making this design almost 35 years ago, there's no reason someone can't nail it and give us the whole package of what we want. That said, if you don't care about the 1016 and just like any of these watches for what they are, more power to you, enjoy it.
I have 3 Rolexes , 2 of them are vintage. I've since sold all but these. Their service fee is totally ridiculous. I'll keep my Zeno and Omega 2003 Seamaster
