btw something i would recommend doing (if u dont like to spam potions) is to use the rune Neo with Qax because then Qax is fully automated and u dont have to deal with spamming pots, my resources are like perma getting chunked all the time full auto. to fully midmax it u can play around it by looking at the icon on ur buff bar, but i just play normally atm idk if that rune can apply to non dming skills so
Thank you for not giving up on this build, although I have already. This was my first build this season, had some fun but it fell short from Torment III and up. The biggest downside is there being so many CC elites in higher difficulties and I kept getting frozen, slowed or dazed. Everytime that happened, I had to do all the setups again.
Rogue gang standing strong! I was tempted to try Spiritborn this season but couldnt bring my self to not play Rogue. Dancing Knives is so much fun, clearing Infernal Hordes is sooo satisfying with this build.
Great guide I am clearing t4 and soloing t4 bosses with few issues I did struggle a bit st the beginning of t4 but after making an heir and getting a yom it works great also you have to fill out more paragon then say a spirtborn you just have to stick with it
After starting this Season with SB (of course, I wanted to try it) - it became very "boring", because of being too easy, it feels very good, to play Rogue again and having a blast with my "old" class - thank you very much and "Danke aus Deutschland" ❤
Thank you for putting the guide together!! Was fun getting this build to Torment 3, very easy to follow. For me, the dugeons/pits have so many turns, deadends, locked doors, and other snares to keep the DoK going optimally. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but constantly having to reset is a lil frustrating.. any advice would be great!
I strongly suggest swapping to combo points due to the nature of the game. Frequently you'll be forced to take sharp turns or interrupt your channel at an inopportune time and with combo points you'll be able to instantly refill your dance of knives charges. No point in resetting your concealment cooldown with shadow clone if you only have 2 charges from being forced to stop channeling
Dance of knives snapshots concealment and imbuement buffs, making it deal crazy damage infinitely. It only takes about 4-5 seconds to get back to enough charges of DOK to continue spinning infinitely if you have at least 190% movement speed. Your shadow clone stealths you for 5 seconds. You can spend that repositioning, collecting loot, and opening doors. So pop shadow clone, don’t attack for 5 seconds and when stealth drops, reactivate your concealment, imbuement, and DOK infinite spin. By the next time your mistakes build up and you run out of charges, your ultimate should be off cooldown and you can rinse and repeat. Stopping to fill up 3 charges of combo points for a single spin run is more disjointed feeling and time/DPS wasting imo. Also it leaves you out in the open and vulnerable to burst/insta death in large mobs and other dangerous situations.
@@retrorek on top of this, if you just get the runes that it suggests and use preperation all of your cds get reset every 50 yds you travel so it becomes literally no issue whatsoever, BacYom i believe it is
Great build I have been having fun with this one. Took me a bit to get used to Enhanced Dance of Knives.. distance travelled is either really poorly programmed or Blizzard didn't want us to spin circles forever proccing it and their solution was.. **checks notes** to make us spin in slightly bigger circles

I've been struggling a bit with resistances and armor to get into t4 but think i figured that out with an all ancestral build now. @@dannyberry8725 dont use conceal after you start the spin. You press dark shroud on cooldown even while spinning, it doesn't break the channel and you need the damage reduction refreshed while doing long spins
I have found NeoZec quite useful while not having bacyom yet (dealing dmg after not having taken dmg for 2 seconds reduces ultimate cooldown). I think Noc could be good too - we have stun and freeze. And Noc gives offering for crowd control that is not slow or chill. Stun is not slow.
So for those who didn't pay for VoH and have no runes. Preparation will not work since the runes won't make us spend energy. Right now i'm at the pre-ancestral gear phase without the cracked amulet or GA attack speed rings. All relevant glyphs at 20+ and seriously struggled at torment 3. Any tips for those without VoH besides leveling glyphs?
I’ve been doing an icy/poison alchemist shadow imbued dance. No ult or core, combo points for duration. Then stack all the elemental damage in paragon and with daze/ stun aspects. Umbrus aspect to free a slot for concealment snapping. Comfortable teir 85 pit for me.
So I don't have the DLC meaning I've decided on two options, you can throw on true sight over an offensive aspect or you can do combo points with blade shift, true sight for more damage or combo points for a LOT more QoL.
Thank you a zillion for this, my main problem is that I loose the knives stacks and run out of fuel :p I did not know the 2 potions at start. We do this once only ? Then having low armour and low resistances is a pain in the head, I do therefore good at T3 with full ancestral armour ,hard to get, especially my dagger managed to get it yesterday with help. Hope to get better when leveling my glyphs. Keep it up informing us low casuals!
Hmm .. I'm comfused! You play with shadow + shadow clone in the speedfarming variant. But in your guide u skill poison too. But than we cant use shadow clone? And in your guide in the "mythic" variant, u have shadow imbuement skilled, but not in your taskbar? But nvm, great video and guide!
Use shadow for clearing and poison for bosses. Clone is there if you feel like you need a failsafe to get your rotation back up immediately. I should have explained that in a bit more detail in the video itself. Apologies for the confusion!

@@TobDa I felt that way last season when using shroud of Khanduras. It wasn't a big deal, but would've been cool to get that immunity every time umbrous proc'd.
Been playing Goblin Blaster since start of this new cycle while everybody else has been all about Spiritborn. It’s not as OP but still fun as hell to play.

Hey, appreciate the kind words! We get these through Poison Imbuement. Check out the variants in the planner too! I have made a very particular one where you use the Poison Surge Temper, that can activate it too. However, for that you need to have at least 2 Masterworks with a good roll on Dance of Knives Double Damage on your Crossbow.
I was testing some variants with Alchemical Admixture (Key Passive), got some pretty similar results using shroud of Knaduras and Bane Glpyh to scale the Key Passive (got up to a 400% multiplier) bonus. Unfortunatelly not even close to Spirit born
If the Chain breaks you have to cast everything again. Befor i start using all the skills i attack 5-6 times with the base skill to make sure i got it. You can also see every buff (asheara indeed) over your XP progress
So annoying to do that everytime it breaks. Pick up loot, rebuff. Open door, rebuff. Open chest, rebuff. Take a couple back to back sharp turns due to map layout, rebuff.
I found 4 % movement spend per dark shroud better then movement speed... it gives you i think 5 dark shroud is 20% total plus the aspect , dark shrpud all the time
I followed everything but why is my damage so low in T3 and barely do any damage. Something is missing in the guide. I have almost perfect Astral gear but I cant farm t3 fast as compared to T2
It won't speedfarm T4 but it will work. But it is a clunky build. If you don't do the entire snapshot rotation every time the build will not oneshot entire screens. Also doors, chests indoor dungeons etc=not spin to win but more like spin for 10 seconds and do the rotation all over again.
You will be a doing about half the damage, a little more if you use dex gems. You also can't run preparation because you aren't spending energy without runes.
im using shroud rn and it just has bugs with this build, it makes concealment not apply vulnerable u have to cast it twice for it to work. probably cus of the shrouds unique effect with the stealth thing but try it out if you have it

So before starting dance of knives, always potion potion, concealment, and shadow imbue, is that correct? The basic attacking isn't necessary right? Also which potion is best to use?
I loved the idea of this build, couldn't wait to play it on xpac Launch, but I wish they would get rid of the snapshotting... Door? Hit 6 buttons, then attack. Interrupted, Hit 6 buttons then attack. Pick up loot, Hit 6 buttons then attack. Really killed this build for me :(
i tried dance of knives and had a good build going. nothing crazy but comfortably farming torment 4 easily but just got extremely bored of just spinning and very low level engagement. had to swap off to something else lol
Love the content and the guides throughout seasons M1PY, you got a sub! I have one question about the guide: why do you have movement speed on boots? I get that as a QoL thing for farming and in cities maybe, but at least for pit pushing content wouldn't dexterity be better? We can easily cap MS by passive boosts from momentum (30), haste (15), darkshroud (25), DoK (20), stutterstep (?) and boot tempering and don't need the extra MS aspect from boots.
Been leveling with this build (leveling version into endgame) and its been fun. Maxroll guide has been nice. Things I wish were better explained: 1) movement speed - ex. 200max? from base gear vs perks (crit+10mov or runes). 2) how to deal with tight/small dungeons/pits/etc. I run out of charges because you can't do large circles/go straight (I'm gear 200mov speed) 3) I dislike asheara+blade (+alch advan) at the start. What are my options? 3a) It seems there are no cap2 attack speed bonuses other then Asheara + alch advan and cuttroat speed? 3b) my game is buggy and I have to wait at least 2sec between each button (potion 1.5sec, potion2 1.5, imbu 1.5, 1.5, conseal, 1.5, go. So its up to 4-5sec of standing still. (If I don't, the game doesn't register the actions and I will not get the buffs). So, then adding attack with basic skill 4-5 times, feels bad. (also using a potion after being damaged, and then having to restart the buff rotation (2 potions) sometimes doesnt work.) 4) Yom (petrify)- don't have it. But I have 220 paragon, so ultimate board is wasted? 5) what skills don't stop your channeling (you mentioned dark shroud, anything else?) Cheers
1) You get a lot of movespeed through different buffs and passives. Aim to get 190%+ with all of them up. 2) try to move as straight as possible. The new patch on Thursday will help a lot as prep will always restore all of our charges. 3) I mention in the written guide that you can do an unbuffed small spin with dance of knives to prestack. But that takes a lot longer than hitting bladeshift 5 times as it attacks insanely fast. 3a) none that apply to this bulld, correct. 3b) I have not faced this issue before, but I can see how annoying that must be. The build is made for t4 with the snapshots so you will struggle without them unless you have absolutely godlike gear and glyphs. 4) take eldritch bounty until you get Yom. 5) only dark shroud and imbuements so not interrupt the channel.
awesome guide! One question tho, M1py. Should I always spam potions? I mean after I spend the Qax rune, should I straight up start another rotation with the potions?
solving the res and armor cap has become so difficult for some reason, I feel stuck in T3 and all the alternative ways I've found to cap my res tank my damage

Went with SB starter but now wanna try this for an alt since I see you still made it work. Just have two (probably embarrassing) questions.. 1. Do I have to reapply the snapshot sequence every time I let go of DOK? So even if I loot a legendary for example, or free a prisoner or something - I need to do the full activation every time? 2. Do imbuements snapshot as well or do I still press imbuements while spinning? So while spinning I am pressing Dark Shroud and (imbuements?)
Another question: If you were to run with the Edgemaster aspect and the rune-combination YaxQax, which one registers first? Will Edgemaster think that you have full resource or empty resource? (Since Qax spends it all I mean)
Great guide mate. I´m using it as well as I can, and I´m on the brink of getting Pit65 down. I´m Para 182, so still alot of stuff to fill in. But I have a huge problem with not having the legendary runes. I'm not even close to the damage numbers in your video, and that makes it hard. On top of that, its really annoying to play like this, in the pit levels, where you have to be in small rooms, and take sharp turns. So... questions: 1. What do you do if you dont have the legendary runes? 2. What tips do you have to keep spinning and keeping DoK charges up, in small rooms and tight turn pits? Thanks in advance Colosseus
A question. On eternal Torment 1, I don't have any of the new mythic uniques yet. I could use Cowl as you recommend, but why not just dropping in Andariels Visage, which I do have (both a legacy Andariels and a Cowl). The build already has features that support Andariels. I get that a well rolled Ancestral Cowl of the Nameless would be better, but I don't have one yet. Thanks for your work for the community.

Hey, I really like the build but I just wonder, I don't always one shot mob or elites on the first shot, which can be fine except when the map is a corridor so you can't really run in circle, how would you deal with situations like this ? Just do very long lines but then I'm not sure your knives reach, just to keep the spin going or kinda like ignore this annoying part of the map and keep going until the map is more enjoyable ? I guess the build really relies on one shotting on the first go once you have enough dmg so you can just keep going without paying attention if mobs are dead or no but still wanna ask, thanks for the vid !

If you have capped movement speed with rolls+tempers+dark shroud+momentum, what would you suggest switching in the talent tree? Stutter step? or should I look to reroll a gear affix to something better? I know I am gigacapped in movement speed and want to minmax. Are there any valuable alternative talent points?
If you want to min max look at the min max 2.0.3. Speed variant in the planner. This is what I am going to transition the speedfarm version of the guide towards. I've been Playing that on stream and it's heavenly to farm with.
That one only applies to the first knife you throw and not the full duration of the channeling. If you notice it says it affects the damage on next attack not on next skill or cast.
It's a long rotation when playing in a group/party. Your skill bar doesn't have Shadow Clone in the gameplay video but it's there in the guide. which is it?
I often rotate the skills used on my Skill bar depending on what content I am running, so the footage may have different combinations. All of them I noted down in the variants in the Planner though. I mostly use Shadow Imbue + Clone when speedfarming.

It doesn't not really matter as both are additives in this build. Pick whichever you have the highest roll.

why not put a point in core skill so you can spend energy. We should experiment and find out a variant for non-expansion

Use shadow for clearing and poison for bosses. Clone is there if you feel like you need a failsafe to get your rotation back up immediately. I should have explained that in a bit more detail in the video itself. Apologies for the confusion!

@TobDa there are other aspects that are more vital to upping your damage, such as Frostbitten, Concussive strikes, and noxious ice.
@@CloudK23 Yes, nevermind... The downside from umbrous is, that we cant precast dark ahroud for the snapshot (If we dont put it in the actionbar)
@@TobDa I felt that way last season when using shroud of Khanduras. It wasn't a big deal, but would've been cool to get that immunity every time umbrous proc'd.
Been playing Goblin Blaster since start of this new cycle while everybody else has been all about Spiritborn. It’s not as OP but still fun as hell to play.

Hey, appreciate the kind words! We get these through Poison Imbuement.
Check out the variants in the planner too! I have made a very particular one where you use the Poison Surge Temper, that can activate it too. However, for that you need to have at least 2 Masterworks with a good roll on Dance of Knives Double Damage on your Crossbow.

I was testing some variants with Alchemical Admixture (Key Passive), got some pretty similar results using shroud of Knaduras and Bane Glpyh to scale the Key Passive (got up to a 400% multiplier) bonus. Unfortunatelly not even close to Spirit born
Do you need to re-snapshot asheara's, concealment, etc at the start of every floor?
If the Chain breaks you have to cast everything again. Befor i start using all the skills i attack 5-6 times with the base skill to make sure i got it. You can also see every buff (asheara indeed) over your XP progress
So annoying to do that everytime it breaks. Pick up loot, rebuff. Open door, rebuff. Open chest, rebuff. Take a couple back to back sharp turns due to map layout, rebuff.
I found 4 % movement spend per dark shroud better then movement speed... it gives you i think 5 dark shroud is 20% total plus the aspect , dark shrpud all the time
I followed everything but why is my damage so low in T3 and barely do any damage. Something is missing in the guide. I have almost perfect Astral gear but I cant farm t3 fast as compared to T2

It won't speedfarm T4 but it will work. But it is a clunky build. If you don't do the entire snapshot rotation every time the build will not oneshot entire screens. Also doors, chests indoor dungeons etc=not spin to win but more like spin for 10 seconds and do the rotation all over again.
You will be a doing about half the damage, a little more if you use dex gems. You also can't run preparation because you aren't spending energy without runes.
@@sirmoke9646 Agreed, M1py undersold how clunky this build is and how often you need to re-snapshot all of your buffs.
im using shroud rn and it just has bugs with this build, it makes concealment not apply vulnerable u have to cast it twice for it to work. probably cus of the shrouds unique effect with the stealth thing but try it out if you have it

Check bottom left of the page, updated the skills and also weapon temper. Shadow for aoe blasting and ice for bossing

Any advise for people that dont have runes? You use runes to spend energy right? If no runes, no spent energy, no ultimate procs and buffs.

I loved the idea of this build, couldn't wait to play it on xpac Launch, but I wish they would get rid of the snapshotting... Door? Hit 6 buttons, then attack. Interrupted, Hit 6 buttons then attack. Pick up loot, Hit 6 buttons then attack. Really killed this build for me :(
i tried dance of knives and had a good build going. nothing crazy but comfortably farming torment 4 easily but just got extremely bored of just spinning and very low level engagement. had to swap off to something else lol

I have one question about the guide: why do you have movement speed on boots? I get that as a QoL thing for farming and in cities maybe, but at least for pit pushing content wouldn't dexterity be better? We can easily cap MS by passive boosts from momentum (30), haste (15), darkshroud (25), DoK (20), stutterstep (?) and boot tempering and don't need the extra MS aspect from boots.
Yeah I personally run without movespeed on boots. I just include more as a failsafe for those who have low rollls
Been leveling with this build (leveling version into endgame) and its been fun. Maxroll guide has been nice.
Things I wish were better explained:
1) movement speed - ex. 200max? from base gear vs perks (crit+10mov or runes).
2) how to deal with tight/small dungeons/pits/etc. I run out of charges because you can't do large circles/go straight (I'm gear 200mov speed)
3) I dislike asheara+blade (+alch advan) at the start. What are my options?
3a) It seems there are no cap2 attack speed bonuses other then Asheara + alch advan and cuttroat speed?
3b) my game is buggy and I have to wait at least 2sec between each button (potion 1.5sec, potion2 1.5, imbu 1.5, 1.5, conseal, 1.5, go. So its up to 4-5sec of standing still. (If I don't, the game doesn't register the actions and I will not get the buffs). So, then adding attack with basic skill 4-5 times, feels bad. (also using a potion after being damaged, and then having to restart the buff rotation (2 potions) sometimes doesnt work.)
4) Yom (petrify)- don't have it. But I have 220 paragon, so ultimate board is wasted?
5) what skills don't stop your channeling (you mentioned dark shroud, anything else?)

1) You get a lot of movespeed through different buffs and passives. Aim to get 190%+ with all of them up.
2) try to move as straight as possible. The new patch on Thursday will help a lot as prep will always restore all of our charges.
3) I mention in the written guide that you can do an unbuffed small spin with dance of knives to prestack. But that takes a lot longer than hitting bladeshift 5 times as it attacks insanely fast.
3a) none that apply to this bulld, correct.
3b) I have not faced this issue before, but I can see how annoying that must be. The build is made for t4 with the snapshots so you will struggle without them unless you have absolutely godlike gear and glyphs.
4) take eldritch bounty until you get Yom.
5) only dark shroud and imbuements so not interrupt the channel.

solving the res and armor cap has become so difficult for some reason, I feel stuck in T3 and all the alternative ways I've found to cap my res tank my damage

Hi M1PY, thanks for sharing, and for persevering with the build despite the nerf - I was so looking forward to playing this and was bummed to hear about the nerf before the season started. Went with SB starter but now wanna try this for an alt since I see you still made it work. Just have two (probably embarrassing) questions.. 1. Do I have to reapply the snapshot sequence every time I let go of DOK? So even if I loot a legendary for example, or free a prisoner or something - I need to do the full activation every time? 2. Do imbuements snapshot as well or do I still press imbuements while spinning? So while spinning I am pressing Dark Shroud and (imbuements?)

Yes you can. It even states it in his guide. Just use a short channel though as you need to ensure you have enough charges on DoK to start the run.

Great guide mate. I´m using it as well as I can, and I´m on the brink of getting Pit65 down. I´m Para 182, so still alot of stuff to fill in. But I have a huge problem with not having the legendary runes. I'm not even close to the damage numbers in your video, and that makes it hard. On top of that, its really annoying to play like this, in the pit levels, where you have to be in small rooms, and take sharp turns. So... questions:
1. What do you do if you dont have the legendary runes?
2. What tips do you have to keep spinning and keeping DoK charges up, in small rooms and tight turn pits?

A question. On eternal Torment 1, I don't have any of the new mythic uniques yet. I could use Cowl as you recommend, but why not just dropping in Andariels Visage, which I do have (both a legacy Andariels and a Cowl). The build already has features that support Andariels. I get that a well rolled Ancestral Cowl of the Nameless would be better, but I don't have one yet. Thanks for your work for the community.

Yes ive tried it before i had ashearas. Massive explosions… its good! might put this on an alt ring instead if elements for speed farming.

You don't need to have shadowclone, it's just for convenience, resets when needed and unstoppable

Hey, I really like the build but I just wonder, I don't always one shot mob or elites on the first shot, which can be fine except when the map is a corridor so you can't really run in circle, how would you deal with situations like this ? Just do very long lines but then I'm not sure your knives reach, just to keep the spin going or kinda like ignore this annoying part of the map and keep going until the map is more enjoyable ? I guess the build really relies on one shotting on the first go once you have enough dmg so you can just keep going without paying attention if mobs are dead or no but still wanna ask, thanks for the vid !
Isnt it better to switch boards between Headhunter and Devious? The Bonus to magic nodes seems better thete, isnt it?

If you want to min max look at the min max 2.0.3. Speed variant in the planner. This is what I am going to transition the speedfarm version of the guide towards. I've been Playing that on stream and it's heavenly to farm with.

That one only applies to the first knife you throw and not the full duration of the channeling. If you notice it says it affects the damage on next attack not on next skill or cast.

No because we spend all of our resource with Qax and edgemasters is dynamic

It's a long rotation when playing in a group/party. Your skill bar doesn't have Shadow Clone in the gameplay video but it's there in the guide. which is it?
I often rotate the skills used on my Skill bar depending on what content I am running, so the footage may have different combinations. All of them I noted down in the variants in the Planner though. I mostly use Shadow Imbue + Clone when speedfarming.
So would you not recommend the victimize variant

Why are we running shroud of false death when entering in stealth doesn't proc on the entire canalisation? The passive seems useless . It is for the "all stats" roll ?
