      The Canadian air force are already experienced problems with the aircraft, even before it officially enters service. There is a delay certifying the aircraft due to center of gravity issues as a result of modifications of the S &R version for Canada and problems with S&R paratroopers jumping from the back ramp. It seems when they tested it, paratrooper dummies were hitting the tail. The Canadian air force really wanted the C-27j is a superior aircraft. Far bigger cabin, more powerful engines, has an APU , flies faster and more robust design.

      I mean the RCAF was practically begging for the Spartan as it fit in perfectly with their requirements and offered commonality with the existing fleet of C-130Js. But that doesn't make the C-295 a poor pick, it still is a pretty darn impressive plane.

    • @ashleyhansen6150
      @ashleyhansen6150 4 роки тому +1

      @@AirShark95 I agree with everything you said. Why the C-295 won over the C27 Spartan is because the C295 has Pratt & Whitney Canada engines and the C27 doesn't. If the govn't picked the C27 then people would be crying that they aren't supporting Canadian companies (P&WC) and with the C295 winning those same people say that the C27 is the better mission capable aircraft and bitch we didn't pick it. Either way it's a no win situation for the govn't. Just glad we have some new iron in this role and will miss the Buff.

At least one of these aircraft will likely be stationed at Canadian Forces Base Trenton in southern Ontario. With a range of 5630km, one C295 could cover virtually all of Ontario as well as its Great Lakes shorelines.

      The obsession of Canadian politicians of hiring incompetent management has completely destroyed the aeronautical industry in our country, whether is for the benefit of other countries' industries or just plain stupidity is hard to tell. No one in the government has thought of hiring good enough management to bring the industry up without bailouts, which in the end goes to fill the pockets of those who make the bad decisions.

If you're lost in the woods or stranded in a boat way out on one of the great lakes or far from shore in the Atlantic or Pacific regions, you're not going to care about the livery of the aircraft that has been sent to rescue you.
