I’m keen on English.I can’t get enough of POC English UA-cam videos.I’m really into their videos that help me get much knowledge of English.their videos are interesting as well as easily understood.🎉🎉thanks for all your videos
I can't believe that in this point of my life i can understand almost the whole video. Things like music, duolingo, and this kind of videos it helps a lot. Thanks.
During my first year at university, I used to hate listening to English videos because I was struggling to understand them. But later on, when I built my bank of vocabulary about various topics, I took an instant liking to English videos in a wide range of contexts.
I feel like in everyday “lazy” English most people would look at you funny if you said “I’m keen on” or “I take a great liking to”. There’s nothing wrong with saying “ I like” or “I’m into” and is usually what most native English speakers would say.
These "stop using the everyday expressions native speakers use all the time" videos are really weird. Why don't they say something like "expand your vocabulary with by learning these other expressions, but those everyday expressions you already know are 100% valid, so keep using them as much as you want because those are what natives use all the time as well"? No, they have to tell you "STOP USING THESE EXPRESSIONS ALTOGETHER". I don't get the logic behind this.
Hi all. Here is what I think about this. I am a native speaker of English at the C2 level. I also hold a Masters in Linguistics, and several other certificates. Don't try to use vocabulary that is too advanced in everyday speech. Keep it simple. It is ok to say that you like/dislike something, etc. The purpose of language is communication, to understand and to be understood - to convey your ideas or thoughts. I have never in my life 'had an aversion' to anything. I simply like or dislike it. Be well.
Yes I agree. The expressions of the beginner’s and intermediate levels in this videos are fine, while the advanced ones are rare in daily conversations or even written English. It’s just a good reference for expanding our vocabulary and preparing for exams.
Wow..., wow..., what an Excellent Teacher you are...!!! It's so worthy and makes the viewers pretty enthusiastic towards the language. Thank you so much ❤️
Im glad that there’s such great videos for people learning English out there. I’m actually a native English speaker and am trying to learn Chinese but somehow the algo must’ve confused me for a native Chinese speaker(hopefully I’ll seem like that in due time 😮💨🧐). Just some bonus structures for anyone interested; they achieve basically the same thing as those in the vid, but are nice alternatives: I find [something] (to be) [adjective]: Eg, “I find economics to be exceptionally intriguing, and I enjoy modeling growth with differential equations” I consider [something] (to be) [adjective]: Eg, “I consider gardening to be challenging, but rewarding” I hold a certain [feeling] towards [something]: Eg, “I hold a certain distaste for lazy geniuses. It is as though they have received a gift they would benefit greatly from, but don’t care to take full advantage of it.”
Mostly everyone in the comments are saying that they are fine with just "I like".... But are you forgetting the fact Its a video to expand your knowledge & vocab. Its great to learn something new people
POC English is always to my liking.I always find myself in a stats of flow whenever watching them.Your style is really fabulous. Thanks for your generous efforts.
I was taught English by some American teachers when they were living in Vietnam during the vietnam war. However my English at that time was.not enough for me to communicate with foreigners. After graduating from Coastal Community College I have been teaching it over 40 years so far. I am really into your English videos on youtube that make my English better. Thanks a milion for your lessons. I have a great liking for them. After I had your first video, I took an instant liking to it. Many thanks again.
Maddy, you look great! Thank you for video. It's wonder, but I am understanding what you are saying without subtitles and translator. You have a good pronunciation.
You are extremely good teacher. I always watch your videos every day and know a lot of captivating vocabularies or structures. I love it very much! Have a good day !
Thank you so much Mandy. Your teaching is really precise, easy to understand, humour and importantly your patience to explain. Some lessons are eye opening to me. Thumb up.

I have a huge liking for POC English. Oh man😅 I really have a strong aversion to getting up so early in the morning 😅😅😅
Why do I or anyone else has to care what I say? *Like,* if you want to say what you do and don't like you just say it with lots of "likes" or just use enumeration after first "I like/I don't like" and everybody will get that. Why do you have to struggle and put up phrases like "I'm keen", "I'm fond of", "I'm crazy about", "I abhor this/that", "I hate this" in you head when you have simple and convenient "I like"? And judging someone's level of English by the use of vocabulary is ridiculous for me.
Exactly what I wanted to say. Also not all people are native speakers so why would I use such complicated statements? I like is just simple and straightforward
You can use either the -ing form or infinitve after "like' when talking about enjoying activites in general, so you can say either "I like playing tennis" or "I like to play tennis".

This is true. It wouldn’t sound natural to use those words others than very specific instances. I’ve never used I have a hatred for or aversion for.
Yes, that sounds weird. And hatred or aversion seems very rude. Besides, he pronounces “listening” like “lessening” or something like that.
Only extremely old or extremely pretentious people *ever* say “I’m keen on s.”
