I have to say, that I learned a few decades ago, that I had the utmost respect for a doctor who would say..."I don't know", as opposed to thinking he HAD to have an answer when in fact...he really DIDN'T know. It's simple, it's succinct, it's honest. That's all I want from a doctor. It's dangerous to do otherwise.

You left out "God knows". That was my mom used to say, meaning not specifically that God knew, but rather that she didn't. Answers 10 and 11 are not really synonymous as they include a commitment to further action. Two things I learned in my career. Never claim knowledge or competency that you don't possess, or even that you do, if you don't want to be burdened with additional responsibility, and be very careful about commitments to further action.
