    Whole murdering druglord aside, this is why I really like Gus. He's never afraid to get his hands dirty. Whether it's breaking out the box cutter or wiping down the tables at Los Pollos Hermanos, he never once thinks getting down on his hands and knees picking up trash is beneath him.

    • @briangonigal3974
      @briangonigal3974 4 роки тому +36

      It is hard not to admire his work ethic. It also helps explain why he & Mike are drawn to each other, I mean how could a drug lord who insists on taking out the trash at his own front business not appreciate a man who insists on actually showing up to his no-show job?

    Re: Jimmy blowing up at those copier guys after being hired. Two theories:
    1. Jimmy subconsciously is feeling Chuck's absence. Chuck was the one person who never, ever fell for Jimmy's bullshit (the show's co-creator mentioned this)...and surprisingly, maybe Jimmy appreciated that about him. We see Jimmy respond with disgust several times to people he considers "suckers", which Chuck most definitely was not (Jimmy calls the two copier guys 'suckers' after they agree to hire him). He even spoke of his father in less-than-flattering tones when it came to grifters taking advantage of him when he was a kid. So when he was able to convince those guys so easily to go ahead and hire him, some part of him thought "Chuck never would have bought that," and became angry that Chuck was no longer in his life--anger is a mask that hides what you really feel, and perhaps what Jimmy really felt was grief that he's refusing to show or even acknowledge.
    2. Jimmy is wanting to do things the right way, but the "rubber-band effect" keeps pulling him back to his "Slippin' Jimmy" ways. So perhaps he gets angry because it's still working for him when he's trying not to be that person anymore. Kind of like saying "Why is the world full of people who make it so easy to keep being Slippin' Jimmy, dammit?!" For the record, I got the rubber-band effect thing from another video that gives a clinical analysis of Jimmy's personality lol. It made a helluva lot of sense and described Jimmy to a "T".

    Giancarlo is everwhere these days. He's still on Better Call Saul, putting supes in their place in The Boys, wielding the Dark Saber in The Mandalorian, running a country with an iron fist in Far Cry 6, and apparently, he's a villain in the new Ducktales. I remember when he was one of the nameless assassins who shot Malcolm X.

      wdym, they have strong bias against chuck, and thats facts. At some point they reached so low that they said "Chuck was abusing Jimmy since they were kids" when nothing even close to that wasnt mentioned anywhere... Or in trial when Chuck was telling all facts they called him crazy. He had his mental illness but almost all he said in trial was truth, it looked crazy only for judge and other people in the room who doesnt know full story...

  • @endorphinzz

    "You're clearly ignoring the trauma this kid went through"...What trauma did he go through as a kid? His dad was too nice and gave away money? Oh, the horror. His brother read to him outside in a tent? Unforgivable. He watched a con man take advantage of his father's good-hearted nature? The register was too available for stealing from?
    This show, to this point, has not shown or discussed any trauma whatsoever Jimmy experienced as a kid, and it has said absolutely zero about Jimmy as a teenager. This comes across as rationalization more than anything. Jimmy even said on three different occasions in season 2 that this is just who he is an he can't be anyone else. I mean, if you're gonna talk about "clearly ignoring" things why do those moments continue to be ignored in favor of stuff the show never said or showed?
    Hell, the show hints strongly at Jimmy being the favorite child over Chuck (and the actor who plays Chuck said so as well). Interestingly enough, it's only Jimmy who gets absolved of his adult behavior because of imagined childhood "trauma" but Chuck gets no benefit of the doubt even though he had the same parents and upbringing--and even had the actual trauma of realizing his parents may have loved Jimmy more than him. Instead, Chuck's just a petty, jealous asshole.

If Jimmy had wanted to he could have taken those two guys for a ride. By telling them like it is, he helped them. If Jimmy were a real narcissist, he would have taken advantage of them both.
