This was so awesome to see. When I was 20, rather than signing up for a gym I wanted to go rock climbing, figured it was a good way to keep fit, and it would help with the thing I always wanted to do which was wingsuit base jumping! Sadly I was beginning to experience severe back pain, followed by a number of other symptoms. Anyways found out I got a massive but non-cancerous cyst in my lower spine. Was due for a risky Op, but found out the week before I had MRSA, probably from spending so much time around hospitals during diagnosis. Anyways. Im bedbound and trying to recover, or at least not get worse. But videos like these fill me with the joy I miss so dearly being out there. I just wanted to say how special videos like this are to people like me, and not to underestimate the good that they do.
Yes this type of video really is a huge help. I am just recovering from a broken foot, not being able to do the stuff you love is tough!!! Heal up bud😎👍👍👍
I was going to comment about this. Those Yellow guys for some reason spin like mad and will drop you in a split second. I used to have to replace them constantly for a friend at a state park climbing wall.
Multi pitches means someone will lead up with a belayer on the ground, then once they get to the end of the firt pitch (length of space) they will clip into anchors and then belay from above for the last person, and continue that way up
I was thinking about something similar lol. The people who wanted to bolt the route would have probably had to contact the engineers or something, find out the specifications of how deep to drill before compromising the concrete wall etc. Idk, im no architect.. but i imagine they were working within specifications while up there.
You get use to it rather quickly. It never quite goes away for me, going back to the wall or the climb after some time away, but after a few minutes once you gain the trust in the rope your brain kind of gives up and you relax quite a bit.
