    How to Front Handspring - Front Handspring Tutorial
    Today we are going to show you how to perform the front handspring. This is going to be another one of your foundation, beginner level acrobatic moves. I personally learned the front handspring in my front yard.
    You may notice some parts of my technique are not perfect. The techniques & progressions I share with you are a mixture of what worked for me in my front yard and what was taught from friends in circus and gymnastics later in my training.
    Remember to focus on developing the prerequisites mentioned. Especially your hand stand and back bridge stretch. This will make learning the front handspring 10X easier.
    In this video I show you prerequisites, steps for the technique, and progression steps to learn your front handspring.
    You can find tutorials we have for the prerequisites mentioned here:

    When I would do a front handspring I would land in a crouched position and now I know why so thank you for the tutorial

    Omg this was soo helpful, I’ve watched a million tutorials and they all tell u how to do it, but they never tell what you might be doing wrong, especially stretching, because I haven’t been, and I real,y should be. Thanks so much!

    Good tips mate. I like how you emphasize on the importance of developing good lumbar and shoulder mobility/flexibility. I can already do most of it myself but feels a bit tight in those areas and will definitely include back bridges in my routine. Cheers

      Katie McDonnell and Luci Romberg are amazing female athletes, and there's no such thing as the wrong body type. That's ridiculous. You just have to adapt to your own body and learn how it works with practice. I think you should try it.

    I know this video is a little old, but I have a question to do with the landing. I can do a Front Handspring, but I never land as close to a standing position as you do. I land with my legs quite bent and leaning very far back and have to use momentum to get into the basic upright position. So my question is, do I need to just improve my flexibility as you mention with things like the back bridge, do I need to strengthen my shoulders so I get more push, or do you think there may be something else I am doing wrong?

    • @aminahammad4120
      @aminahammad4120 7 років тому +1

      Tyler Egan hey buddy, you have the choice, you can either work on flexibility and push a bit with ur shoulders, or strenghten ur shoulders (do handstand pushups drills) and you wont need to arch your back that much, hope it helps

    I'm going to try this tomorrow, I practice this so much at school, I can do a one handed handspring but not a two handed one. I always landed on my feet and my backside at the same time. I think the problem I had was aiming my head downwards and my hands being too far apart.

    okay, so this comment is late for this video, but my front handsprings are really crooked.... so crooked one of the times I did it I started out like a front handspring and turned to the right and ended up in the end of a cartwheel positition.... Do you have any tips that will help me straighten my front handspring?

      The roll and slap landing definitely. Also learn a speed or Kong vault. I do parkour and trust me that's what I did

    how do you get over feeling inadequate? the other day i had a nightmare that everyone i knew was doing parkour around me and i couldn't do anything. i feel like that stemmed from my lack of ability.

      Yes, but it doesn't matter if you don't because it only helps a little bit when you do it on floor

      No because it can bounce back into your wrist. A friend of mine did it and broke her arm and pushed a bone threw the skin
