  • Have you or are you in need of dental implant surgery? Watch this video to learn about recovery after dental implants surgery. Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains the necessary steps to be taken after dental implant surgery and what you should expect and do to have a healthy recovery. Dr. Parsa Zadeh answers a series of important questions such as:
What should someone expect after dental implant surgery?
What day will you feel the most pain after dental implant surgery?
What factor is critical towards dental implant success?
Is swelling and blood after implant surgery normal?
What can you do the first 2 days for a quicker recovery?
In this video, Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains that you need to remember that you have had surgery and you will be sore. You need to arrange for soft food in advance such as liquid meals for a day or so. Protein shakes like Ensure, ice cream and other foods that don't require chewing should be eaten the first couple days after surgery. If it is one or two implants on the corner of mouth, you can start to chew on other side in a couple days or so, although if it is a surgery with greater extent than it is best to wait 5-10 days before chewing. You should expect to be numb and then sore after your implant surgery, and expect to be on a soft diet for typically around 5 days. You will be given antibiotics and it is very important for you to take them as there is no way to disinfect the area in the mouth before surgery. If it gets infected, your healing period can be expected 3 times over. Besides ensuring that you take your antibiotics, it is helpful if you limit your talking because as you talk you are pulling on the side of the wound and in turn it will give more swelling. Swelling will depend on how much you rest on the first day,.You will feel okay on the 1st day, the 2nd day you will start to swell up, and the worst day will be the 3rd. The worst day will be the 3 because you will feel the most swollen and beat up, this is normal as your body is trying to fight this trauma and start the healing. That will be at its peak on the 3rd day, then your body will start to feel better on the 4th day and will start to take the trauma away. How you feel the 3rd day and on will depend on how much you rest on the first and second day.

Ok. After the 3rd day, the situation changes. What you
would indicate as a toothbrushing solution to avoid pain or bleeding?

@@SistersScott it’s been a week and a few days and I’ll say in the end it’ll be worth it. They’re supposed to do the teeth placement in May or June. If I remember to reply then - I will. If not, just ask and I’ll reply.🙏🏾🥰💗
