I've been a cancer patient for 16 years. Chemo and radiation messed up my teeth. My oral surgeon is in the process of getting insurance on board but said the most they will do most likely is dentures. The thought of being 45 with dentures and SINGLE is bumming me out beyond belief. I've been through enough and have handled things well. Idk if I can handle this one though. If anyone has info on getting help with this, please let me know. Thanks

Aluminium is an alloy of titanium, metal is constantly breaking down in the mouth, and this can act as a neurotoxin, like for decades mercury was used, and like even today fluoride is still used. How can this industry with a straight face advise on health or the body when they have use a high enough level of a neurotoxin in their treatments.

Your theory sounds great Doc, but after ten months of excruciating pain from a locked closed jaw joint, it was a $4 sports soft upper tooth guard that brought me back to normality in only days to weeks. Relief when I'd been reading of the risk of suicide with this condition and I was understanding that all too well. No one had the right answer, they just threw out things to try. So I did my own "trial and error" and it worked for me. The alternative was $600-$800 just for just for the assessment alone with an oral surgeon for a TMJ splint. Who's got that kind of money? (I would have paid it if I had no alternative, but I found one, thankfully). I think this is all a cash-grab and the irony is that the most common reason may well be improper dental work. No dentist wants to admit to that, but instead blame the victim for being stressed and grinding their teeth to cause their own problem. The audacity. Sure sometimes people do that, but save the blame. And it's not the go-to explanation for TMJ so to avoid taking responsibility for bad dentistry. Dentistry is an art. Not a science. And like any profession, there are good and bad practitioners. I say, own up.

Whats not being discussed enough so ppl are made aware is "Galvanism"! What happened to me was completely preventable but only, if you fully understand the materials being used and the procedure you decide to have done. This doctor is 100% right. Grade 1 Titanium implants are a great choice. Whats currently being promited and causing HUGE problems (at 2.1 million failed dental implants yearly and climbing) are the lower grade implants. When you start adding Aluminum, Cobalt, Nickel, Vanadium, youre asking for trouble, especially if youre using metal crowns as part of the restoration. ALWAYS, request Grade 1 Titanium like Straumann or Nobel and insist on getting copies of all, "chemical certificates" to ensure youre getting as biocompatible materials as possible. I became a victim of proven fraud/harm and my story was part of the 2019 3-day FDA immunology device panel hearing on the subject of mixing metals. The devastating effects they can have and the unregulated labs that are taking advantage of patients without their knowledge. Theyll advertise one thing, meanwhile, they go by the metals market. Whatever is cheapest that day, thats what you get. I had life, i paid in good faith ($74,000), i was living my dream as a singer/song writer when the botched dental restoration and substituted materials, left me in chronically ill health. Had i known what "passive fit" meant & how "galvanism" can cause a world of issues, i wouldnt be warning folks. My website no longer has an address but, anyone reading this, if you want to review my 7 years of in depth research and numerous resources, just reach out. Unfortunately, while I was trying to help educate ppl, no one i reached out to would help me. I couldn't remortgage my home again and was outside legal recourse so, without replacement, my future is grim. Im allergic to some of the metals used and while i was able to address some of them, i couldnt do all. I was warned by a few specialists to get it removed but, i just cant afford it My health is spiraling as they said it would and ive lost hope. So my advice to anyone reading this... Learn From My Mistake, Don't Become One!!

I understand that Zirconia is new & not been around long enough to know the many side effects. Although Dr Hal Huggins who was a Toxicologist & DDS did not believe in Implants, whether Titanium or Zirconia. He talked about many issues of dentistry, root canals, using anesthesia & other toxic areas like the Periodontal ligament of root canaled tooth. Do you talk to patients about all these concerns. I have had no dentist remove this ligament after a root canal or do any bone grafting after an extraction!! Transparency in all that you do is ethical not disclosing to patients that need this information is displaying a lack of integrity. This is my interview of Dentist that is revealing some truths of dentistry..........(Periodontal ligament -13:52) ua-cam.com/video/NK35C3aI4rY/v-deo.html

He is speaking in 2017, since then companies like Zeramex, Tav Dental… have created extremely strong and fracture free zirconia implants. Zirconia is more biocompatible - no bacterial formation around the implant. Soft tissue looks great around it because of this.

Your information is totally incorrect. I was found to be allergic to nickel and alluminum which is commonly used in titanium implants. Worst 6 weeks of my life. I am a very healthy woman who got very sick from the titanium implants. I had constant headaches, depression, brain fog. It affected my nervous system. My body actually rejected it. It never took and got infected. The two molar implants were place perfectly plenty of bone. As soon as it was removed, all my symptoms went away. I am not alone, there are so many cases similiar to mine. My cousin developed a fever and got really naseous daily for a month. She felt she would have died had she left the implants in, as with me they were placed correctly The percentage of people this happens to is higher than you seem to be aware of. Do your research. The body is holistic, it all works together not separately. So misleading to pass out the information you are giving as a dentist. Metals in the body are toxic and can affect the nervous system. I know the majority of people have no problems with titanium implants but Im not one of them. Has anyone had experience getting zirconia implants? At this point Im scared.

It’s so scary to see those so called professional, saying that the titanium is good for our body and immune system. I had metal braces for 2.5 years and very often IO had a metal taste in my mouth, this is why I can not stand metal fork, spoons etc… I am using plastics instead. I recently received 2 zirconium implants , and I am feeling so happy, knowing that I will not need to have any metal inside my body. For all the folks there, do you research before considering any metal implants in your mouth.

I had a similar experience, not realizing implication of larger - molar - missing tooth, which was some years before my implant. I was not informed about how the gap creates instability in adjacent teeth. I did not want an implant, but...became concerned because the fifth tooth, 2nd after upper canine, was - because of receding gum line and deep exposure - starting to become more "wobbly". Conclusion: inevitably lose that tooth and maybe more or chance it with an implant which would provide support for the "wobbly" tooth. Went ahead three years ago and had a titanium implant. Expensive, yes. But I was and still am satisfied with the result. The "wobbly" tooth became less of a concern. The level of pain in the operation was no more than getting a regular filling. If your gumline is receded, your sinus in the jawbone must be protected. A good dentist will be aware of this, and provide a sinus "lift" so as not to injure the sinus.

I had 8 mini implants placed up top, lost 3 quickly, doc removed 2 more after 1 month. After three months (and a cleaning) I rejected 1 more, all of this after a course of Clindamycin, continued Chlorhexidine use and 6000 iu of Vitamin D3 daily. Now I am watching the last 2 while some bone grafts bond so that the doc can try implants again. Strong implication that it's my fault when there are many videos documenting poor dentistry with implants, and doctors who specialize in repairing other's mistakes. No way for me to tell what's really going on. Do the meds only go to the 2 good ones? Do I only brush and floss the 2? I don't think so
