In a brilliantly bizarre ironic twist the ad before this beautiful piece of lo-fi psychedelia was for a slick car featuring cock rock guitars and slick visuals.
I really don't think so. Thats good though because we have something to tell everyone. Like how everyone talks about 60's music and beatles and hendrix etc. This will be ours. Personally I think people will look at this music weird but in a really cool way 50 years from now. People will be like WOW you saw them live? You heard them? Who knows what music will be like 50 years from now. Will there be a BIG new instrument? Or will people go back to guitar, drums, bass, and a singer? We will see...
Black Dice are awesome, but you have to be in a certain mood and have lot of patience and open mindedness to enjoy them. They would've been good tour mates to Animal Collective a few years ago, when both bands made this kind music, but playing this to people who come for My Girls and Fireworks is a pretty nasty and unkind shock.
@dystopiandreamgirl1 Yeah.. Black Dice can be a bit much. Better than Dam Funk who opened for AC last year. I swore he was a novelty act. He shouldn't be playing at bar mitzvahs, let alone opening for AC at Prospect Park. Nice screenname, by the way.
@AntiWarhol "Hahahahahahahahaha...OhGod." probably best expresses my feelings when I read that. 1) OK. Define music. 2) Owl fucking City? Have you ever heard of The Postal Service?
i love these guys. i just finished my first album "probably not for people on strong drugs, but maybe only appealing to those who are". i am trying to share it with some like and open minded music listeners. check it out if you are interested. i am brand new to this and i would love some honest feedback.
What's all this bickering about AC v BD?! They both sound a lot different. To the average listener they're similar, bit of you actually listen you'll find they're quite different.
This is too artsy for me. Same with Animal Collective. I've given both bands multiple chances but nope. I mean, I respect their whole avant garde thing that they're doing with minimalism and such, and I think we need bands like that to counter balance the norm of everything else, but I can't put something like this on a mix CD for myself.
I mean I see you your point but not all Animal collective stuff is this strange and dissonant. A lot is but you also have a good bit of really poppy enjoyable tunes by them. Not that the non-poppy stuff isn’t enjoyable. I personally dig both styles. But I for sure can see where you’re coming from.
I don't understnd this at all. Why is the element of surprise essential to "true" art? There are people using the element of surprise in art who aren't terrorists. I can't detect any substance behind this convoluted pseudo-intellectual mess of a comment.
this is one of the best videos ever can someone PLEASE upload it in >240p ?? DFA, come on !
listen to this man.
saw them on June 4th with Animal Collective.
they played extremely loud just to spite all the new animal collective fans.
this is the most amazing anything ever anythinged by anything anywhere anywhen
This is my favorite song. How's everyone's weekend?
@Outerspacehaze there are no words, to express my agreement, good sir. also, flying lotus goes great with the haze. just a suggestion...
Schräg und kultig.
Brillant
Like one long Adult Swim bump.

Best UA-cam comment to ever exist.
I bet Tim and Eric love Black Dice
It's official, we have broken the machine

かっこいい
I really love the DFA remix of this song although it's all good on it's own :)
Black Dice is on AC label. And they also do some projects together. So yeah.
they put a lot of effort into this video. good job.
Danny Perez is a god
luccckyyyyyyyyyy
I have this really erie feeling.
A must see ^^
the best part is that a 7th grader couldn't have made this during recess, or after school before his mom got home

hah i like it :) i've never heard these guys but its new and interesting. not if you were epileptic though
and I think that's EXACTLY why BD opens for AC.
that must have been a fucking crazy trip.
@CaravanNothing Spelling is for people who can't think outside the box.
@Pointysharp
I'm not sure, I think it's by N.W.A. though.
BD is more electro, AC is more, something else.
@spartanshyne
He's number 1, I believe. With "Such Great Heights".
I'm not hip enough to understand what the fuck this is supposed to be and why it's so popular.
omg.... wow.
illumination song

Peacebone's video seems tame now. I'm scared, better get my gun.
I fucking don't want to die
my brain just vomited...in a good way...
@derekio137 Spelling correction: "than"

@mickeythebutcher Really? Maybe this just isn't for you
@derekio137 Nah, just different then this.
Argh! Electric Soldier Porygon!

@AntiWarhol
This, by the way, is FAR more "musical" than ALLOT of Noise records.
you need some serious drugs to write a song like this.
I love it, though.
@Deathofindypendent sos
what
@AntiWarhol- Define "better". Aren't we just weighing different values/tastes? Grow up some.
@ignoranttwat
i like real indie not indie that comes out on mtv sorry.
lul

real music is made with instruments, not machines...

It feels like an Animal Collective knock off. Lame.
Rather strange. Not saying it's bad though.
this band makes some of the worst music i have ever heard
