    Have you tried 4CM on the HX One? You’re missing a trick if you haven’t!

    Very useful video thank you. Connected the HX One to my Tonex but the setting for pre or post seems to be global rather than per preset.

      Yeah that sounds fairly normal, shame though

    Thanks for the video. I wired My ampless rig, with my origin effects revival drive acting as my amp, to have Hx One before or after revival drive. I follow the same page on the manual you were showing up in the video but it seems to do nothing. Maybe because OE revival drive doesn't have an efx loop? Am I wiring them wrong way? Thanks

      Thanks for watching, you mention you set up per the video but it doesn’t seem to do anything. It would be good to understand if you mean that you get no sound or whether you mean that you don’t hear a difference. It would also be good to understand how you use the revival drive, mostly clean or mostly dirty? Do you use other gain pedals in front of it?
      If you use the revival drive clean without much dirt and get dirt from other pedals you may not notice a huge difference with wet effects going after the amp sim. You’ll most likely notice the difference more if you are running a lot of drive on the amp sim. Wet effects going into the front of a dirty amp can sound quite messy. It’s still quite a personal taste thing though.

    Hello and thanks for this video. If I May, I have a question that’s only partly related, but you seem to know a good deal about this pedal: I want one, but I'm wondering about the looper. Since it is one effect, it makes sense that I cannot use it while I'm using another effect from the pedal at the same time, right ? Now is there some kind of cheat or workaround like injecting an effect on an overdub afterward, or using this kind of method shown in the video? Thanks a lot.

      @PBOD  Місяць тому +1

      Hello, thanks for watching. Due to the nature of the pedal (1 effect at a time), I don’t think what you are trying to achieve is possible, when you have the pedal on the looper effect, there’s no way to bring in any other effect from the unit. I haven’t tried this but it might be possible to record a loop, leave it playing and switch to another effect but I would suspect that this won’t work, the HX one has limited DSP compared to its bigger brothers so I think all the cpu power is diverted to the given effect patch you are in.

    It's just a pity that they messed up the ins and outs. So when you choose true bypass, it'll take the whole preamp out of the circuit instead of just the pedal. It should have been guitar -> left in -> left out -> amp in -> amp send -> right in -> right out -> amp return, because true bypass will short left in/out and right in/out. The way it's actually wired, it will now connect the guitar to the amp fx return. It still works with AD/DA bypass, but I hope they offer the obviously better wiring in a software update as an alternative option.

      @PBOD  3 місяці тому

      That’s an unfortunate limitation, haven’t hit it myself as I’ve not been using it in true bypass.

      Its not something that can be fixed in an update. Its how its wired

    • @emulgatorx
      @emulgatorx Місяць тому

      @@Ottophil You can't change the way how the true bypass is wired, but you can change the way the software assigns semantic meaning to the ports. That was my suggestion. Once the signal is processed by the ADC, it's just data and the processing unit can do whatever it wants with it. It can process it or not, it can decide to output it through the DAC on the left or the right channel.
      That this is possible, becomes obvious when you look how it processes the data in stereo mode. It takes the left input and outputs the signal on the left output and the same for the right input/output. This matches exactly how the true bypass is wired and there is no reason why they couldn't do in in pre/post mode. That's why all stereo EQ pedals do exactly that to allow mono operation.
      The only downside is that the labels on the back of the device wouldn't match anymore. But they could offer this as an alternative mode in order not to confuse people unless they want exactly that.
      Ideally, they could even use true bypass for the unused section, but it's unlikely that the processing unit can switch the channels independently.

      @ i would like it if this was the case, but if an update could fix it, it should have came that way.
      I want 4 cable true bypass, but i assumed if it can’t do that then its not the dsp’s fault, the switches are wired that way.

    Using the pedals amps with real amp will sound bad since you are using two amps and cabs? This is what I don’t like about these amp pedals

    • @PBOD
      @PBOD  Місяць тому +2

      The HX One doesn’t have any amp sims in it, it’s only effects. You need to step up to the HX stomp for amp modelling.
      Amp models can be used with an amplifier but you typically need to have the signal bypassing the amps pre-amp by using the fx return on the amp and then turning off any cab simulation on the amp model. Lots of people use amp sims in this configuration with excellent results.
