Meatball is friendly!

Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Meatball is a fun, goofy American Bully who loves to cuddle and play. He is about 3 years old and weighs around 65 lbs. Meatball came to us via a shelter, so we have no background. He is a very friendly dog who gets along great with the resident large male dog in his foster home. Meatball has no history with cats, but he shows a calm demeanor, so he might be worth a shot with kitties. He has no history with kids, but his foster home believes he should be good with kids 7 and up who know how to act nicely around dogs. Meatball enjoys playing with all kinds of toys and sticks and anything else he can get his paws on. He can entertain himself, but he also loves to play tug of war with other people or dogs. When he’s done playing, he loves to rehydrate and cuddle with you on the floor. Meatball can climb the stairs to get around but has a hard time jumping on furniture because of his little legs and thick torso. He is crate trained and spends his nights sleeping comfortably inside “his room.” Meatball enjoys going for short walks (he will take a break if it’s too long) and being outside in the yard. Meatball can be leash walked, so he does not require a fenced yard. He is good about going potty outside, but he has had a couple of accidents inside, so it is something to keep an eye on. He knows his name and will come when called, but he doesn’t seem to know any other commands, so he’d appreciate training to ensure his success. Overall, he is a very friendly and loving dog who would love to find his forever family.
