    I use the 1560 Geneva bible and I love using it. I feel as if I'm safe from corruption when I read it.

    Tolle Lege Press has a 1599 geneva bible with modern font and modern spelling. Notes moved to footnote area so easier to read. The 1599 geneva was the first english bible to not print the apocrypha. The 1599 geneva bible notes are more up to date than the 1560 geneva bible notes.

      would consider 1599 tainted. they modified/removed footnotes. compare 1560 / 1599 and you will see. for instance revelation 17 in 1599 version removes who will be destroying the antichrist. 1560 indicates it will be the gothic/vandals/huns that will rise against the papacy.

    The Geneva Bible is a much better translation than almost any other Bible.
    I feel that the Geneva and KJV are the two best translations out there, The Geneva is just easier to read. Plus the KJV came from the Catholic church, just something for the KJV only people to ponder...
    Peace

      Why do you say the KJV came from the Catholic "church"? I have neither heard nor seen such a history and am very interested in learning.

      @@MadlyinLovewithJesus-1953 The KJV was a government publication at the time, hence it's name: The Authorized Bible (Authorized by the King of England).
      King James claimed to be a Protestant, and did include some Puritan translators in the KJV project for political reasons.
      Unfortunately his behavior, and those of the Kings after him was very harsh towards the Puritans, who wanted to see the church and government in England purified of its corruption.
      In the years following the release of the KJV, Geneva Bibles were seized and destroyed, ownership of Geneva Bibles was outlawed, and those who did not comply were jailed.
      Meanwhile, fake Geneva Bibles full of errors were printed in Continental Europe and smuggled into England, in an effort to discredit what is to this day one of the most accurate Bible translations available.
      This dark history usually goes unmentioned, especially by KJV Onlyists; but there's plenty of fascinating history out there to read.
      The history of the Geneva Bible is the most wholesome thing. I have one, and I love it!

    There are no such terms as "protestants" or "Catholics" in the New Testament. There are saints, disciples, Christians, believers. Why can't we just use Bible names for the Lord's people?

    • @yardmasterswealtheducation8424
      @yardmasterswealtheducation8424 5 років тому +3

      That is an easy question to answer. Because not all who claim it are, in fact, the Lord's people. Roman Catholicism is a satanic religion.

      KJV is ok. The new bible versions after KJV are corrupted. Look up New Age Bible versions by Gail Riplinger. You can find her videos on youtube.

    • @michellemassacre999
      @michellemassacre999 9 років тому

      Yes, 1599 to replace the NIV, certainly. I have a 1560 Geneva facsimile reproduction, and I love it. It may be less perfect than the KJV, but it is still more perfect than even the NKJV, which should give some idea. It can be trusted, and has all the verses in tact.

    • @chriswesterman5331

      Jordan Weller The new Bible versions are based on much much older manuscripts than the KJV. They are an improvement on the KJV and are actually written the OUR language, not some "foreign" language like Old English

    • @michellemassacre999
      @michellemassacre999 9 років тому +2

      Those "older manuscripts" are the same ones the Roman Catholic Church has used from the beginning. It is an outright deceiving statement that seeks to convince people that KJV English is a completely different language than English in general.
      The frequency with which I run into this statement lately, leads me to assume it stems from programming, rather than from critical thought based on discernment.

    • @michellemassacre999

    I have the Geneva bible. Can u explain how to read it! I see that f is s. I’d like to hear someone read it as it is on UA-cam. You know how u have people read the KJV here to listen to. It would be great if someone who can read the Geneva on UA-cam and I can read along to get to know the way they spoke and wrote. It is kind of hard to read it.
    Also why did KJV not include the Apocrypha books and why the Geneva Bible has the apocrypha books but I do not see Enoch book in there? I thought Enoch was part of the apocrypha as well?

    because the countries that use/used the KJV have been blessed far beyond the ones that don't/didn't use it.
    western Europeans are the 10 lost tribes of Israel so it makes sense that we would have the truth to bless us. that's the way God works. it was our job to spread the gospel throughout the world.

  • @prettyjohnshill76

    Christ came for none but the lost sheep of the house of Israel. then the lost sheep took the gospel to the gentiles (nations). that's why Paul went to Greece (Europe). Joseph of Aramathea came to great Britain where he traded copper.
    you have not understood Isaiah 49;6.

    Protestants do not venerate saints, that's what catholics do which is unbiblical. If you are a born-again believer in Christ then YOU are a saint, Christs' church of believers are the saints.

    As for Gen 3:7
    Breeches was first used in the Wycliffe Bible of 1380. But no one said a word about it being there.
    They snicker at it in the Geneva Bible.
    But it makes perfect sense.
    Breeches means pants or trousers.
    What's funny about that?
    If you want to laugh, laugh at "aprons" in the King James Bible, since an apron is a workers garment that is designed to protect a laborer, worn over clothing.
    The funny part is- it only covers the FRONT 🤣.
    The KJV claims Adam and Eve walked around with their backsides exposed.
    Over 60% of the KJV is word for word copied from the Geneva Bible, but people give King James the credit for translating it, yet he hired 50+ other people to work on the KJV.

    no they were not.
    God scattered the 10 tribes way before Christ came, he placed them in a new land under a new name, Europe and Caucasians.
    the eternal throne of king David is sat on by European royalty.
    our names (example,Denmark=mark of Dan), linguistics - Welsh, irish and Cornish are derived from Hebrew/Aramaic. the Scottish declaration of independence states their Hebrew decent. who spread Christianity throughout the world? I think you'll find it all scriptural.

      @@yardmasterswealtheducation8424 they modified the footnotes / commentary of the 1560 geneva over time. every revision of the bible is the perversion of the bible. that is why they intentionally create dozens of different versions of the Bible. Its meant to divide and deceive Christians. 1560 Geneva is the way to go. Example can be seen in Revelation 20, where it indicates WHO will be destroying the antichrist. Its removed in the 1599 version.

    Older video post but I felt I had to comment anyway. Laughing and joking about the bible (especially the wonderful KJV translation that has stood the test of time) as they do in this video is utterly dispicable. The Geneva has all kinds of notes, some of them facts but a large majority are opinionated and that is the real reason why it was forgotten and never widely used again except for a shelf reference or dust collector. There is no place for opinion in the Holy Bible. The Geneva was also rife with inaccuracies and wrong translations and is worse than all the earlier bibles. Also never did the translators of the KJV use the Latin Vulgate, in fact the last thing they wanted was to use a Roman Catholic text. It wasn't just about the anti-monarchy commentary. They wanted a uncorrupted text not filled with a bunch of hate filled opinionated comments (even if it was toward Rome, which England still wasn't very friendly with at the time). It is said that God will preserve HIS WORD, not those of men that were running from the English crown. History has proven that to be very true. That doesn't mean it doesn't have historic value. People did die just for being caught with this bible, but that was all they had to read. They were martyrs to the Lord that gave their lives. That still doesn't change the gross inaccuracies and opinionated comments in this bible as being very wrong and corrupted. The Pope and Mary were against anything except a bible written in Latin and that would have also included the KJV had it been out at those times. The things wrong with this version are just too many to gloss over though and it should never be used for regular study. Also it has been proven that at least one copy of the KJV was brought over with the pilgrims as well, a copy is currently on display in a museum about the pilgrims. So chances are more than excellent that other copies were as well, to say otherwise is just not being realistic. They sailed in 1620, nearly a full decade after the KJV was first published. Also, by the time our country won our independence in 1776, most people including our founding fathers had never even seen a Geneva bible in their entire lives except maybe the very few that survived and were handed down by a great grandfather.
