All might once said “the most explosive hearts are usually the most fragile.” I love him cuz although he is very loud and mad all the time, he isn’t like that all the time. When the entire class was punished for doing something (when they moved into the dorms) Bakugou made Kaminari do his thumb thing to make the rest of his class happy. He cares about them even if he doesn’t show it.

it seems like everytime a creator tries to make a “bad” character, they always turn out fan-favorites. Take Levi. He was designed to be a hardass that everyone was afraid of, and his character design was actually intended to be UNattractive. Look how well that worked. Levi is one of, if not THE MOST popular anime character in Japan (can’t remember which poll this is from). Just an interesting note.

I think that since their quirk are both compatible with being a give(explosion) and take(hardening) dynamic, Kirishima seemed to be the only way to hold Bakugou back from stupid emotion drives decisions
their dynamic is so important to bakugou's development, too! kirishima was the first true friend he had that viewed him on an equal level, and it was thanks to kirishima that bakugou was able to connect more with his other classmates

Bakugo is my favourite character. I feel like so many people don’t understand him. Sure he’s a cocky and arrogant jerk, but that’s not all he has to his character. He has an inferiority complex because of being spoon fed praise and compliments when he was younger. Bakugo was used to winning, so he doesn’t know how to react to failure. Deku, being quirkless and weak suddenly gained a powerful quirk and is slowly learning how to use his quirk intelligently; and it scares Bakugo. He’s afraid that a “quirkless loser” would surpass him. He doesn’t like being helped, because he thinks of needing help to be associated with the weak. Deku tried to help him, but Bakugo didn’t want the “weak” Deku to help him, in-fact he didn’t want anyone’s help. We all know Bakugo wants to surpass All Might and become the number one hero, which is another reason why I think he bullied Deku, Deku had the natural hero instinct inside of him, something Bakugo didn’t have. But we can see that he has improved, slowly, but he’s improving nonetheless. Anyway I’ll stop ranting, I’m not good with words so I don’t think I can properly explain my thoughts.

It's called the gold child syndrome; and I absolute agree. I just love his hidden weakness, because I can empathizes with the need to appear strong and live up to everyone expectations.
I think Bakugo is a likeable character because no one tried to make him likable. They gave him flaws and fleshed him out. Usually, when a character with ill intent towards the main character has a backstory, it is tragic and sad. Yet, Bakugo's is simple - he was praised to the point where he thought that being number one was his purpose. It's simple yet effective. As well as the main audience for My Hero Academia(Boku no Hero Academia) is 13-17 years old. As a part of that age range, I can confirm that his aggression towards others and his desire to be the best is relatable, even if it is blown out of proportion. Everyone wants to find what makes them stand out, what they win at where no one else does, and this age is when you find it. Bakugo simply wants to win at everything. His simple character and flawed personality makes him a easily digestible character, unlike other characters in his position that seem to have tragic and not plausible backstories. My boy canonically has anxiety. In a scene shown after the first training class with All Might (Iida & Bakugo vs. Uraraka & Midoriya) He is portrayed as having a panic attack. Breathing heavily, panting, trembling and overthinking Midoriya's win. He is anxious about others becoming better than him. He thinks All Might's retirement was his fault, when it was bound to happen anyway. His extreme inferiority and superiority complex eats him away. His mother is what many would call abusive. Her harsh words are almost never what a child should hear. She has previously hit him, and you can see why many people find this abusive. He most likely has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder considering the fact he was kidnapped by villains to be pressured to join 'the dark side'. He probably smells like caramel! His sweat works like nitroglycerin, and nitroglycerin is said to smell like burnt sugar. Caramel is burnt sugar. So, if it is like nitroglycerin, he probably doesn't smell stinky like we thought. It's very likely he smells like candy.
I don’t think he’s detestable, he’s just misunderstood. Even with a hard shell, he has moments of caring about others. 🤔 The fact that he flat out refuses to work with the villains shows he’s not a bad guy.
I think something that should be added to the show is that the reason why he hates Deku is 'cause his parents (meaning mom) wants him to be more like Deku. Just a thought
Bakugou was raised in a household were his mom basically taught him that mean, loud, and rude = love. He knew that his mom loved him but always was yelled at by her and physically and mentally hurt. He doesn’t see the issue in the way he is (or just started seeing it recently) meaning he doesn’t think he’s being mean. He truly thinks that that is how you are supposed to show affection. But that is just my theory anyway.
Fun Fact: Midoriya calls Bakugou “Kacchan” becuase “Chan” is someone who is close to you, (in Japanese) so Deku took the first two letters of Bakugou’s first name (K̲a̲tsuki) and added Chan since they are childhood friends which makes them close to eachother and Midoriya came up with “Kacchan”
But everyone called him kacchan when they were kids and when they got older deku was the only one who called him kacchan still and everyone started calling him by his last name so I think it was just a childhood nickname he kept.
That might be true but i read that the chan in Kacchan could also mean as someone above or other words you worshiped or look up to, and deku does worshiped bakugou other that you could sy calling him a close friend. But you might be right also

bakugou was the main reason i wanted to watch more bnha because i immediately loved him when he showed up. i think he's just a fun/funny character but also really intense and complicated so his development is great to watch too. i just hate when people are assholes to me for liking his character; ironic that the reason they hate bakugou so much is because he's an asshole.

I like bakugou because he shows the most room to improve. At first I absolutely hated him. I thought he was the rudest meanest person unworthy of becoming number one hero, but as the story progresses you get to see more sides to him. He progressively got better and has a more (in my opinion) character depth than Deku. I just really, really, really like how he has gradually become a more in depth character. I believe that's what makes him the most likeable character despite him being made to be the most unlikable character.

Bakugou’s been my favorite character since episode 1. I do agree that he’s a jerk, but he became my favorite character because I know that he’s gonna get really good character development. His character as a whole is just interesting. His traits that can be easily classified as a villain, but he obviously wants to be a hero.
Everyone says that they like him because "He kicks ass," or "He's super attractive" He's my favorite character because he reminds me of someone I know. Pretending to be tough and (sometimes) mature but he's hurting inside. No one ever cares if he feels sadness or pain. They just scream at him when he shows anger; ignoring any other emotion he has. Sometimes I wonder if he tossed aside the decent pieces of himself just to please those around him who had judged him based on his quirk. Thinking he was emotionally impulsive and downright cruel. But if you think about him as a little kid, he was happy. He wouldn't make rude remarks as much and he wouldn't go completely out of his way to hurt others. Don't you think there's a reason he wants to be hero other than a villain?

My favorite thing about Bakugo is how you know when he has a mutual respect for another student by calling them by their actual names, When Kirishima asked Bakugo to team with him in the calvary battle Bakugo called him "Weird hair" and then when Kirishima appealed to Bakugo's drive to be number one, Kirishima was the only student he calls by his name, he called Mina "Racoon eyes", Sero was "weird elbows" or somethin like that, but he called Kirishima, "Kirishima" the same with Uraraka, after his 1v1 with her, Bakugo respected her effort against him, and he now refers to her by her name "Uraraka"

I personally loves how he wants to win in a *correct* way. He has some form of integrity where he doesn't consider winning a win if his opponent didn't do he best and he basically just isn't dumb. He recignized that Deku saved him from the slime monster, and usually when a character is always angry and explosive, they usually don't think things through but Bakugo actually does. During his fight with Deku (the first one) he used a pretty strong attack but its not strong enough to kill him.

He looks up to All Might just as much as Deku, he's great at cooking and cleaning, he's organized, intelligent, resourceful, goes to bed early, and is one of the top students in class. Pretty sure his grade is even higher than Deku's- not to mention he sometimes tutors members of the Bakusquad.

I Honestly Love Bakugo! You can't change my mind about it!! Because Bakugo is by far the most Interesting Character in MHA, or *He has the Most Character Development in MHA.* While Everyone is just... The same Except for Todoroki. You see... I don't really understand what's so Special about Deku... I mean, I don't see any Character Development from him at all... Just same old Kind protagonist. But other than that I don't see anything else. Bakugo on the other hand is Different He's a Jerk, He is Rude, He has Anger Issues and He is Amazing in his own way. Because unlike Deku, He has a Big Improvement on his Character. Throughout the show you can clearly see that His starting to Open up to others... Starting to accept the others as friends. And He's growing up
Deku isn't a bad character at all, but he _is_ a pretty basic protagonist with a basic heroic personality and morals. My sister heavily disagrees with me on this, she calls me basic for liking Bakugo over Midoryia, but that's probably because of the age difference. From a distance, it's hard to tell how one character development is more satisfying than the other. Maybe it's basic to prefer the most well-liked character on the show, just keep in mind that there's a _reason_ that character is so well-liked. Even if it's over the protagonist.
My favorite part about him, is his anger. One of my favorite scenes with him, is during the Sports Festival, where, after regaining some points from Monoma, he kept hammering his fist against Kirishima's head while shouting. It was so hilarious to see! :D

He was designed to be a hardass that everyone was afraid of, and his character design was actually intended to be UNattractive. Look how well that worked. Levi is one of, if not THE MOST popular anime character in Japan (can’t remember which poll this is from).

I think that since their quirk are both compatible with being a give(explosion) and take(hardening) dynamic, Kirishima seemed to be the only way to hold Bakugou back from stupid emotion drives decisions
their dynamic is so important to bakugou's development, too! kirishima was the first true friend he had that viewed him on an equal level, and it was thanks to kirishima that bakugou was able to connect more with his other classmates

Bakugo is my favourite character. I feel like so many people don’t understand him. Sure he’s a cocky and arrogant jerk, but that’s not all he has to his character. He has an inferiority complex because of being spoon fed praise and compliments when he was younger. Bakugo was used to winning, so he doesn’t know how to react to failure. Deku, being quirkless and weak suddenly gained a powerful quirk and is slowly learning how to use his quirk intelligently; and it scares Bakugo. He’s afraid that a “quirkless loser” would surpass him. He doesn’t like being helped, because he thinks of needing help to be associated with the weak. Deku tried to help him, but Bakugo didn’t want the “weak” Deku to help him, in-fact he didn’t want anyone’s help. We all know Bakugo wants to surpass All Might and become the number one hero, which is another reason why I think he bullied Deku, Deku had the natural hero instinct inside of him, something Bakugo didn’t have. But we can see that he has improved, slowly, but he’s improving nonetheless. Anyway I’ll stop ranting, I’m not good with words so I don’t think I can properly explain my thoughts.

I think Bakugo is a likeable character because no one tried to make him likable. They gave him flaws and fleshed him out. Usually, when a character with ill intent towards the main character has a backstory, it is tragic and sad. Yet, Bakugo's is simple - he was praised to the point where he thought that being number one was his purpose. It's simple yet effective. As well as the main audience for My Hero Academia(Boku no Hero Academia) is 13-17 years old. As a part of that age range, I can confirm that his aggression towards others and his desire to be the best is relatable, even if it is blown out of proportion. Everyone wants to find what makes them stand out, what they win at where no one else does, and this age is when you find it. Bakugo simply wants to win at everything. His simple character and flawed personality makes him a easily digestible character, unlike other characters in his position that seem to have tragic and not plausible backstories. Thank you for reading my ideas, thank you for making this video, and thank you for your effort. I hope my two-cents help you in your quest to find Bakugo's appeal.

Bakugou was raised in a household were his mom basically taught him that mean, loud, and rude = love. He knew that his mom loved him but always was yelled at by her and physically and mentally hurt. He doesn’t see the issue in the way he is (or just started seeing it recently) meaning he doesn’t think he’s being mean. He truly thinks that that is how you are supposed to show affection. But that is just my theory anyway.

Fun Fact: Midoriya calls Bakugou “Kacchan” becuase “Chan” is someone who is close to you, (in Japanese) so Deku took the first two letters of Bakugou’s first name (K̲a̲tsuki) and added Chan since they are childhood friends which makes them close to eachother and Midoriya came up with “Kacchan”
But everyone called him kacchan when they were kids and when they got older deku was the only one who called him kacchan still and everyone started calling him by his last name so I think it was just a childhood nickname he kept.

I like bakugou because he shows the most room to improve. At first I absolutely hated him. I thought he was the rudest meanest person unworthy of becoming number one hero, but as the story progresses you get to see more sides to him. He progressively got better and has a more (in my opinion) character depth than Deku. I just really, really, really like how he has gradually become a more in depth character. I believe that's what makes him the most likeable character despite him being made to be the most unlikable character.

My favorite thing about Bakugo is how you know when he has a mutual respect for another student by calling them by their actual names, When Kirishima asked Bakugo to team with him in the calvary battle Bakugo called him "Weird hair" and then when Kirishima appealed to Bakugo's drive to be number one, Kirishima was the only student he calls by his name, he called Mina "Racoon eyes", Sero was "weird elbows" or somethin like that, but he called Kirishima, "Kirishima" the same with Uraraka, after his 1v1 with her, Bakugo respected her effort against him, and he now refers to her by her name "Uraraka"

I used to hate Bakugo in the first 2 episodes in season 1 because of bullying Deku but then I started to love him later on because of his development and relationship he has with the other students especially in the latest chapters of the manga.(๑ↀᆺↀ๑)✧

@@CyanideOwl Not true entirely. He hates people who don't have a fighting spirit. Take Bakuguo vs Uraraka for example, she was weak against him but still he called her by her name.
Same I respected him in the first season but still hated his guts but during the sports festival knowing that he respected uraka after their fight and the fact he hates to lose made him my favourite charactar
I personally loves how he wants to win in a *correct* way. He has some form of integrity where he doesn't consider winning a win if his opponent didn't do he best and he basically just isn't dumb. He recignized that Deku saved him from the slime monster, and usually when a character is always angry and explosive, they usually don't think things through but Bakugo actually does. During his fight with Deku (the first one) he used a pretty strong attack but its not strong enough to kill him.

He looks up to All Might just as much as Deku, he's great at cooking and cleaning, he's organized, intelligent, resourceful, goes to bed early, and is one of the top students in class.
Pretty sure his grade is even higher than Deku's- not to mention he sometimes tutors members of the Bakusquad.

You see... I don't really understand what's so Special about Deku... I mean, I don't see any Character Development from him at all... Just same old Kind protagonist. But other than that I don't see anything else.
Bakugo on the other hand is Different
He's a Jerk, He is Rude, He has Anger Issues and He is Amazing in his own way. Because unlike Deku, He has a Big Improvement on his Character.

Deku isn't a bad character at all, but he _is_ a pretty basic protagonist with a basic heroic personality and morals.
My sister heavily disagrees with me on this, she calls me basic for liking Bakugo over Midoryia, but that's probably because of the age difference.
From a distance, it's hard to tell how one character development is more satisfying than the other. Maybe it's basic to prefer the most well-liked character on the show, just keep in mind that there's a _reason_ that character is so well-liked. Even if it's over the protagonist.
