- ESPN's FPI (Football Power Index) were released on Monday and one thing is certain: The Big 12 Conference is going to be the most insane league in college football this season.

I agree with you. If Colorado o line play good they can go far. They got the depth and guys In the trenches they were missing last year. Dline will be phenomenal…. The O line will be the key tho

I agree, the BigXII is going to be exciting and fun to watch this year. Hoping my Mountaineers continue to build off what they started last year. Im looking for our triple threat in the backfield (Greene, White and Donaldson) to run it down everyone throats...I hope!! Yes we do have the toughest BigXII schedule...especially starting out with Penn State and Pitt starting off. Then the BigXII grinder.
Pete, maybe it's like the 'Locked on' channels?? I call it having the 'Gold n' Blue Dude' (RIP) syndrome. Sling up as much mud as you can and praying something sticks!! Even tho i loved GnBDude channel before he passed, I always gave him heck for some of his outrageous realignment predictions. That's exactly what LoS channels are doing.
Their channels have become pathetic click-bait nonsense... it's sad.
And yes, I'd love to see WVU make that HUGE leap, but MAN it's going to be TOUGH!
@@heartlandcollegesports I know 2 of my brothers (in Boone NC & Winchester VA) and my nephew (in Amarillo TX) have started watch you , upon my recommendation. Of course we're all WVU fans and my oldest brother is also a Ta&m fan (graduated w/Masters there).

@@heartlandcollegesports I feel not the true home stadium makes it possibly harder. Like it's closer for Iowa State to travel to the game. Will be a ton of ISU fans there.
Iowa State game will be neutral, the other 5 will all be like home games
KU opens the Big XII season in Morgantown which is 866 miles away Eastward from KC and a 14 1/2 hour drive. Their last game there went into OT and the Jayhawks got the edge. That opener will speak volumes!

@@heartlandcollegesports I just might! I’d recommend checking DNVR Sports or David Talks Buffs. They surprisingly have a 3 deep on the OL and 4 ish on the OL. They’re light at Linebacker though which is where I’d be concerned, granted they’ve brought in some quality transfers.

Might be the same Media Days computer programs that predicted 4 wins last season and a last place finish in the Big XII. None of those computers foresaw 9 wins and a national ranking in the Coach's Poll.

Am I detecting a lil bit of shade being thrown towards a certain"Locked on" channel that seems to have outrageous video titles everyday, sometimes several times a day?? 😂 I love the Big XII, and the Big XII UA-cam channels and community, but much like GBD (RIP my friend 😢), certain channels only focus on crazy headlines and A LOT of "what ifs", which I guess there isn't a lot of concrete news this time of year, but it gets old hearing the same stuff that you know has like 5% chance of happening being talked about like its inevitable... @austinsmith7519 not intended as a jab at wvu. was a risky guess, putting faith in new uh hc fritz (which might not happen in 1st yr, in '24). not a native-texan, but after previously living in dfw for 2 decades, i developed a respect for uh (& hou.-region hs fb) which, i freely admit, subjectively impacted my preseason guess-list. am well aware that a chunk of big12 fans/media believe in '24 wvu. for me, the worry is the 'eers' '24 d'. as a mountaineer fan, you'd likely wax poetic re how gr8 the '24 wvu d' will be. I understand. i've found giving feedback re a ranking list is ez and that making a ranking list is headache-inducing. slotting the 6-10 big12 fb teams in '24 is a beyotch, esp. bc of ur very squad wvu, plus isu & others - all of whom have a goodly amount of talent. imo, in some cases, there is little apparent separation between some of those teams. if my 'gut' guess re uh is way too inflated & wrong? enjoy a good laugh at my expense. wvu & isu r talented, but also hi-variance teams, imo.

The SEC has 11 of the teams ranked 1-20 in the FPI rankings.. how is that not the most parity?

Impressive analysis. I am not at all shocked about parity in the Big XII. I've been saying that for a year now. I take the power rankings with a grain of salt, but they are data to consider. I am a bit surprised about Kansas, but their schedule is relatively soft.
You should get the street signs for all the teams and adjust them as the season plays out!! That gives you more space to have all 16 teams
Last year preseason everyone said okst had the easiest schedule but turned out to be one of the toughest in conference. Nobody knows who has an easy schedule, nobody knows who will ultimately be contenders, last 3 years proves it
Yes... The Big XII doesn't have Oklahoma carrying the conference all by itself anymore.
There's going to be some parity, a word that seems foreign to most Big XII fans and fans of Arizona, ASU, Colorado and Utah know all too well.

What I get from this poll is that the B12 is a battle of mediocrity. I wish The B12 had a couple of more powerhouse teams in it. What you said about CU could be said of any team. If things work out for them, they actually have a chance. Every team in the B12 is hoping for that very same thing. Hence the parody.
Last of all, compare this poll with the Vegas odds. It tells a different story. ESPN sells TV time. They need people to turn on their TV's. So, propagating parody is in their best interest. Vegas has to be mostly accurate to win by people betting. This season will be interesting to watch. *BTW, Kansas won't be playing any games on their home field this year.

Wow! I see they counting Colorado Buff out of the pictures. EA sports simulation is so BS, I watched a few of those game of Colorado playing and the tendency are far fetched they I stopped watching. In one game alone the 2# throwing 3 int. He only threw 6 int the Pac 12 season.
It's not hard to create a parity conference...it just has no chance of ever winning a title. For the top schools to have parity you'd have to break up the SEC, ACC, and the Big Integer and hand pick the top schools to be in a single conference and that will not happen anytime soon. So when you take the schools nobody wants and put them all in a single conference that equates to parity. It will be fun...just no shot at anything at the end. You could throw Boston College, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Duke, Miss St., Auburn all into the Big XII and it would still be parity because they all are about equal. And that would make that conference awesome to watch week in and week out. Would make basketball season awesome as well. But in football...they have been relegated to bottom tier of the big 4. They are the only conference that truly has no shot at a title. The talent is just not there.
re '24 Big12 fb friday night TV games episode: not weird seeing non-sec football on cbs. i remember when CBS aired BigTen fb, pre-genX-era. also not strange: remembering ND fb b4 the domers were aired primarily on nbc. all a matter of pre-genX perspective. 🙄
