Agree. I make this on the stove top but the potatoes are the hardest to get cooked through. I even partially cook the corn so I can chunk it up. The pot looks overfill too.
I think it's because she is using fresh bay leaves and not dried. Fresh are less potent due to their water content. You need 2-3 times as much fresh herbs versus dried.
Where is the water? That looks dry, and the little liquid looks like it would choke you. The Old Bay is put into the water to season the ingredients. That butter and Old Bay just sat on the bottom of the crock pot and didn't flavor anything. Too many Bay leaves!
Where I’m from, we call that a Low Country Boil and it’s cooked outside and dumped out on a table with a plastic tablecloth and everyone serves themselves. 😁
@@sharonb519 Thank you for the invite Sharon! Oh, that would be nice to do again, but we're saving our pennies now to (hoping/planning) to go to Israel after thing's settle down a bit there. I loved LA. I stayed there for 3-1/2 weeks. Simply incredible foods! Those jumbo shrimp were fresh off the boats. I would love to go for a visit again one day. I hope you have a FANTASTIC week!!
Where I am from, we cut the potatoes in half so the flavor can get in them also to many bay leaves, no salt ,cayenne pepper, bell pepper or no crawfish. We in New Orleans we had a little more season also but what's good for goose is good momma ❤❤❤
You cannot cook shrimp for two hours! It will be tough and chewy. Just throw the shrimp in on top for the last 25 - 30 minutes of cooking time and BAM!!! Bob's yer Uncle!
I typically add chicken to low country boil..I am drooling now..cant wait to use the crock pot for this classic..thank you for sharing your kitchen 😋 ❤🎉😊
I want to try this one looks so easy like I can actually do this one. I've seen boil recipes that look very complicated with too many steps that I was afraid to try.
There are way too many problems with this dish for it to be delicious. The shrimp will be tough and rubbery like a pencil eraser. There is about three times to many bay leaves, the potatoes will be undercooked along with the corn cobs. Jarred garlic and rings of red onion??? Ewww, yuck. Do not waste your money on this nightmare.
You should never eat a bay leaf, they can cut your throat. I just pick em out. But this is such an easy way to get your Cajun boil cravings. It looks delicious 😋
I would use chicken I'm allergic to shrimp and put a layer off onion on the bottom of the crockpot and season the meat b4 I put it in the crockpot and Layer my flavors Good base recipe ❤
Being from NOLA nobody i know does this BUT we all have our ways of cooking and its not too bad only the shimp would go last very last looks delicious 😋 🥰⚜️⚜️
Ive never sèen anyone actually eat a bay leave they are normally pulled out after the meal is cooked and before serving dinner. I can imagine that whole bay leave tasted very good they are very strong tasting and the shrimp should be put on top not bottom to keep the shrimp from being touch and chewy it may even be better to put the shrimp in at the last 20 to 30 minutes of cooking. But it does look very good just less bay leave and less cooking time on the shrimp could also add other see food to the meal like scallops claims oysters even fish and crawfish would all be good in this boil
Oh this is perfect cause I love doing things in crockpot, now you did it with shrimp, I would like to try with the crab legs you think that would cook right or I need to cook it more time? Thank you for sharing this with us ❤much blessings 🙏🏼from Diana n Jose Vasquez 👋🏽👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I think it would taste just at delicious with just the potatoes, sausage, and corn. I'm not sure in the o bay seasoning has anything you would be allergic to but check first. So you can still experience the cajun boil😊
@@meredithlewis6596 Ok, Thank you very much for That information., I appreciate it. I know that I’m definitely allergic to shrimp I had the test so that I can’t have ,but all the other things would be delicious. I will check on that seasoning though. thank you so much. Have a blessed day🙏🤗🌺

Maybe put the shrimp in later after the other stuff cooks. So they don’t get tough from over cooking! 🍤
Agreed
I was thinking the same thing, because shrimp doesn’t take that long to cook 😳
Yea my first thought
Definitely I can see you can't cook at all lady !!! You should be ashamed of yourself 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Yes! I was thinking the same, but overall a good dish.
When I seen the raw shrimp at the bottom of a crock pot I immediately thought this was a joke
I immediately came to the comments thinking that same exact thing.
Me too 😮
😂😂😂😂me to ,was like this have to be a joke
Me too!!!
Exactly
Should be put in the exact opposite way, with the potatoes first, corn, etc, and shrimp on top
I also add other seafood, and I prefer the sheet pan over the crockpot sometimes when I only have 30 minutes from prep to dinner time
Agree. I make this on the stove top but the potatoes are the hardest to get cooked through. I even partially cook the corn so I can chunk it up. The pot looks overfill too.
She did this sooo wrong.. 😢
Her talk drives me crazy.
Everything looks great except I'd never put the
shrimp in the bottom of a crockpot. I'd put them in on top for about the last 10 minutes.
Never plate bay leaves.
The shrimp is going to be like rubber lol
Looks like a great meal. A bit heavy on the bay leaf. Those are very potent and a little goes a long way!! Just 1 or 2.
I think it's because she is using fresh bay leaves and not dried. Fresh are less potent due to their water content. You need 2-3 times as much fresh herbs versus dried.
By the time this is done, the shrimp will be overdone rubber

Shrimp should be added toward the end of cooking time! 🍤🥘

Easy on the bay leaves, my goodness 😂😂
Right😅😅😅

I usually make this in a pot but never thought to make this in crockpot, what a great idea. When you added the butter and garlic, I swooned ❤ lol!
Ya the shrimp should be added in the last 20 minutes after they been thawed to room temp cause they are easily overcooked
That overcooked, rubbery a** shrimp!
Looks good. Somewhere there’s a Cajun cursing tho. 😂. “ that’ ain’t. No boil mama..”
Those Scrimps Bout To Hit Different!! 😮😂
This right here. Game changer adding some turkey necks with my homemade garlic butter sauce. I’m gonna take this to the next level . Thanks
You're right, put shrimps 🍤 in last before finishing the final cooking process!!!!
You had me at the butter and extra seasoning 😋🤤. Going to pull out my old crockpot and give it a whirl 😂

How was it?? I have yet to make it, any advice?

I found that recipe in an old novel. They called it frogmore stew.
I've been doin this for 15 yrs.
I also add CRAB LEGS.
I also cut the potatoes up in thin slices...also you boil it too, comes out better....
Omg that looks so delicious and yes please. I love your bowls, again Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe with us 👍👍👍👍
I know that shrimp was tough as heck
Shrimp is going to be overcooked being in there for two hours.
I made this recipe on and my family absolutely 😍 loved it!!!! Thank you 🙏 for sharing!!!
Did you over cook the shrimp for hours too? Lol
Looks delicious and easy peasy!

Are those shrimp rubbery?
This is a skit guys, they always make these funny skits.
When everything in your crockpot is done put shrimp on top to cook til pink,or your shrimp will be way over cooked 😊
That shrimp looked gray maybe taupe 😳🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️😂😂
Bcz they were frozen and she put them in too early
Yumm😊 delicious!
Those prawns are going to be like leather....
You don't need to cook seafood for more than 10 min. and shrimp always good with the shells.
The shrimp cooked for 2 hours?
Shrimp in the last 5 minutes! You just turned those shrimp into erasers
That shrimp got tough as hell .. and that's not enough pot liquor..
This is actually called (Frogmore Stew) or low country boil and it's origin is here on St Helena Island SC. Yours is different I'll say that.
🎉. Oh since when yall start using seasoning lol..
The shrimp should be added maybe in the last 30 mins. Recipe would be way faster in a Pressure cooker.
After two hours those shrimp have to be rubbery over cooked. Even cooking gumbo, the shrimp go in at the last minute.
Looks good. Thank you for sharing.
Have to try this only have done it in a pot never have I ever thought about my crockpot and I love mine
Awesomeness 🔥🇺🇸🆙

I’ve never seen anyone eat one until now. 😳
Actually basil is good for digestive issues....she just ate one very small piece...it should be in small pieces...put in salads also....
@conniehahn4577 it was bay leaves.
Looked good raw or otherwise always wanted to make that. Going to try it this weekend.👍
The shrimp desapere😂
Why that recipe looks so good I definitely will try before the super bowl on super bowl Sunday.

How long should you boil the potatoes before you put them in the Crock-Pot that way they get done all the way would really love to try and make this

I like your shirt/top.
The stew looks good too
Everything tough including the shrimp hey what else to expect from this dish🪨💀
