- Many say that the Salvator Mundi by Leonardo Da Vinci was "invented". Is it a real Da Vinci? Depends on who you ask...Is it the biggest single art scam in history? We're also not sure where it is now.

Might as well been restored in one of Montmatre touristic painting studio... owned by someone called Di Angelo
Can it be called a derivative since so many people had added their touches on it?
Can there be glass or crystal that does not distort the light?
Wasn't the New Orleans purchase price actually less than $2,000? Highly entertaining video. Love well-done sarcasm. Still, any number of comments and observations are overly simplistic.
They did have rock crystal globes back in Da Vinci's day and I think you are right this has a bit too much restoration to the point of being a curious artifact rather than an original painting.
No way is this a real Leonardo...too many bad painting points...emperors cothes syndrome going on.
great video
And the crystal globe for your information , has 3 white specs representing the main stars of Orion’s Belt , DaVinci believed an Angel named Oriel hailed from the heavens from Orion’s Belt to protect Jesus , I would explain the rest , but honestly it’s not worth it.
9:27 These specks aren't in the shape of Orion's Belt.
the joe rogan of he's time lmaooo bad take
It is a 100% Da Vinci. In its cleaned form, after all the past restorations layers had been removed. Kemp is right, and he refers to the cleaned state. Though, of course, the final product that sold at Christie's for 450 megs is a whole another story and can't be any longer be considered Leonardo anymore. Thank goodness reversible paints are being used today in restoration works, so this is not a complete loss.... but still, a world renowned restorer with vast knowledge of art and history should know better than letting this homunculus leave her workshop...
What about that 400 Million
Wasnt it from Russia back to South Arabia .....
it was not lost for centuries
Salvator Mundi is a Banksy... ;)
A family member once showed me a credit application he had got at a local store, only a mile or so from my house. The salesman who filled out most of the contract had handwriting exactly like mine - whether he was printing, writing cursive slowly, or scribbling a note in the margin. I do not believe you can trust handwriting experts. (As the art experts in this video compared themselves to handwriting experts.)
money laundering , like all "art"
Saudi crown prince bought it For $450 million .
Joe Rogan of his time?
A joke
It's a Da Vinci! Notttttttttt! Nice hair shame about the... rest of it!
I don’t like the over painting - Mundi looks cross eyed 😵 & has Mae West’s cleavage 👀 It removed too much original paint, so I’ve seen in a 2 hour documentary on UA-cam, & looks like a cutout. I think I prefer the “Monkey Jesus” 🙊
"he was the joe rogan of his time" Sorry, but thats where you lost me.
That's because you have zero sense of humor
Sarcasm, sorry if it wasn’t obvious
@@PeterMacland Well you never know if it's sarcasm with so many idiots running around worshipping him.
The sucker who bought it deserves it.
Sub because we'll the quality of this video.
Cheers.
The sucker is MBS and I say karma…but to him 400 million is pocket change.
@@mythicsin3083 it's not the money, it's the perception of the fool the people laughing. The poor laughing at the rich hurts the most.
@@manjsher3094 I think the French Revolution showed beheading their asses worked better.
