2019 BMW 540i: Start Up, Walkaround, Test Drive and Review

- Today we take a look at a new 5 series from BMW! In todays video we check out the 2019 BMW 540i! This has a 3.0L twin turbo inline 6 and is very quick!
The new 540i has a ton of power! The turbo engine pushes you back in the seat and the 8 speed transmission is super responsive. Super comfortable car as well! Test driving the 540i was enjoyable and the car is well put together. The exhaust isn't too loud either which makes for a comfortable ride.
I'm very impressed with the overall car and unlike the 330i, and 440i, this is a little longer, and has a higher roof line giving back seat passengers plenty of room.
The exterior has nice clean lines and the interior is spot on with all of the premium feeling materials from the leather, to the wood trim and bushed aluminum!

Nicely described. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do! We have a ton more vids since this one!
Favorite color Interior
Great review. 👍👍👍
Thanks!
My very first BMW sedan!! Terrific job bro.
It’s a nice bmw!
I had this as a loaner car. I still can't get over how quiet the interior gets with the windows rolled up plus its sneaky fast
Wow was this thorough. Felt like I was being read the manual word for word.
Glad you enjoyed this BMW review! Just going over a few specs and then showing the rest of the car!
Bad news, Mike. BMW Malaysia does not get the G30 540i with the 3.0L twin-turbo inline-6 due to expensive taxes and most G30 5-Series Beemers gets the mid-range Harman/Kardon audio system. All we get are 3 engines: the normal inline-4 turbo 530i, the base model 520i and the PHEV 530e.
Yeah! Just the different markets.
In Russia most sales are for 520d xDrive (190 hp) and 530d X Drive (249 hp) Diesel models
Great information content. I have a 2019 640i, which is based on the 540i - both superb cars. Check out the Msport option - the Msport brakes are excellent as this is a fairly quick car and needs the additional braking.
badgastein2 you mean 6GT? Thought it’s different platform
Dear Chin-Chen Lee, I had a 730 d and the platform is certainly not based on a 6GTas the 6GT does not have a carbon core floor, 7 series dash or seats , The 5 series has same cabin layout and controls as the 6 GT therefore I am sure the platform for the 6GT is based on 5 series as it would not be cost effective to develop a platform just for the GT.
does it have the B58?
I have a 2019 540i as well mine is xDrive (northeast) loving it so far
Im choosing between this and E class?how come you chose this over E class?
3636 3636 i have it before and now i have 540i , i dont like it
Is it expensive to maintain? What’s the cost etc
Great work dude 🐐🔥🔥🔥

Nice one
I got my 2019 540i xdrive with M package (Carbon Black Metallic) and I love it. It is truly a fun car to drive. I had to get rid of the chrome around the grill in the front. Made the car look more aggressive with the all black grill. They don't call it the ultimate driving machine for nothing.
Did you drive the M550i by any chance?
@@cesarpena6633 yes I finally got a chance and it’s a different kind of beast. One that I welcomed with extreme joy.
How did you change the grills to black? Did you buy the black ones or u wrap it?
@@jadenkumar I purchased the Black Grill. Was easy to remove and install myself
Wow that’s crazy this is exactly the model I want brown interior and options lol
I don’t believe you
These are extremely beautiful cars. I simply love the look. I would buy one if I had enough money, but I don't know why, for some reasons, I read a lot of bad things about BMW. I mean, a lot. And I don't know why.
People jealous they can’t afford it. Also, the people who say the plastic fails after a year are people who drive the living shit outta their bmws and the engine gets too hot and breaks down the components
@Big Ballah yeah I get what your saying but I’ve seen bmws last to 170k without major repairs (same as any other car). I am also aware of the depreciation on those but that’s the same with every single luxury car brand.
Recently took the delivery of my brand new Bluestone metallic (G30) BMW 540i xDrive M Sport with M Sport package+ (Incl. M Sport brakes), Napa leather, 20” BMW Individual wheel/tire option, adaptive LED lighting, and other great packages/options. I must say it is an exceptional vehicle. You must see it in-person to appreciate the looks, quality and the feel of awesomeness in driving dynamics. IMHO, I think for myself it was money well spent...if you appreciate this fine automobile, and have the means to do it.
I love the 2019 BMW 540i it’s very nice!!!! I enjoyed taking a ride in my brothers neighbor’s Tesla!! I love Electric cars!!!
9:04 I love that red gauge
It's a nice touch to see on this BMW!
Should I get this car or not debating between 540x drive msport vs 530i xdrive m sport
LUXURY
Heck yeah! BMW makes some great luxury vehicles!
Hmm. This particular car doesn't seem to have adaptive dampers (no corresponding vertical button next to drive mode buttons), yet the reviewer claims that the chassis is able to absorb road imperfections better in Comfort mode vs Sport? Damping characteristics should be the same in all modes, unless the vehicle is equipped with variable dampers or dynamic handling package. Also, what does "Charge" refers to on the display in Eco mode, if this is not a hybrid car?
Does the BMW 5 Series have B-pillar rear air vents? I recently had to travel in an Audi A6 that had those and it made a huge difference!!
Edmond Kuçana I’m pretty sure it should. The 2012 BMW 750li has them, but then again that’s a 7 series.
They are dead cheap now on cargurus. I got a well equiped 2019 with 17000 miles for $32000. In Pristine condition. I just hope it holds up well interns of durability.
Oh yeah you can find great used BMW's for good prices. Some older ones can be iffy tho
There’s literally no way in hell you got a clean 2019 for $32,000
@@gopletkarmah2639 Here are examples. You're obviously I'll informed about the depreciation of these vehicles and the current cost for the 2019 models. These examples cost a bit more than 32K. But you can easily negotiate their prices down to 32K.

You'd be surprised... In great condition too. Luxury cars value depreciate fast...
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I'm getting this car for my boyfriend
It’s crazy this is the exact model the exact interior color I want except I want it black exterior
Oh cool!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed ard
Crazy that I can pick this up for $23K with only 20k miles
Dang that's crazy! Sounds like a good deal as long as its in good condition
salvage title or flooded? heads up!
@@peopleschamp3223 Exactly!!
@@peopleschamp3223carmax had them.
It's at least $40k now in 2023 for the V6. This economy blows.
Top speed of 130 mph? I didn't know they limited them even more for the US market. They do 155 mph in the UK.
It’s either 130 or 155 for US models, and that usually depends on the tires and if it has that additional package to raise that limit.
“There really isn’t that many buttons”
Me looking at 200+ buttons: okayyyy
Some cars have a ton more. BMW does a good job not going crazy
Bros FOURR Speed True true.
2019 BMW 540 OR LEXUS LS 500 ? HELP MAKE ME MY DECISION PLZ.
Tough one. The Lexus will be more reliable. But the BMW will have more tech and be more fun to drive
Looking at 2019 540i M sport with 46K, asking $42K, from private seller. Still has the BMW factory 4yr/50K warranty.
Is that a good deal?
Depends on what others are selling for at that mileage. The warranty is about up, so no much value on that
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Correction. He has the Extended CPO warranty ending 2023.
What is “charge” in the fuel gauge means at 9:09?
It has the mild hybrid system, so you can monitor that!
I believe the 5 Series is an uncool car, but this week, it became really seriously uncool.
Why? Because Келрун from Colorado US and A has one, so it has to go to seriously uncool.
Just the normal 5 Series, not the M5 or M550i.
I think the 5 series is a great option! I wouldn't care about someone else having one to make it uncool!
My cool wall isn’t about how good the car drives or about value for money. It’s how cool I think the cars are.

Thanks for checking out this bmw!
What line was this car ? M , or luxury line or sport line ?
I'd assume this is just a luxury line. Not really too sure
Bros FOURR Speed well , as i know the order of BMW line is like this first is M , second is Luxury line , third is sport line , so luxury line is the better line than sport line , right ?
Is this the luxury package or M?
luxury package
this car fwd ?
Nope, I mention that at 0:46 seconds!
This car a exclusive package ?
I'm not too sure. It's been a while since I filmed this
The e39 is better
Give your words some space. You are trying to fit it too many words in a short amount of time. I dont like it.
This was a long time ago lol, better now!
Breath from time to time, gejdbsjsgsv blah blah, easy.. Gosh ! Let the image speaking itself
First
90% talk and 10% driving :/
Going over the entire car takes some time to talk about it compared to the driving.
i have an offer to buy one of these from my old boss for 15k, it needs a new driver door handle and new a/c, should i take him up on it? 30k miles was a leased car prior, m performance package etc
