I opted to try a more challenging hunt and boy was this one draining, over 1000 resets and 3000 encounters later we found our Shiny Seadra which we evolved into Shiny Kingdra! Talk about an epic Shiny and an epic Shiny moment!

i've done a few of these, namely haxorus on the island in wild area, milotic in the lake of outrage, mimikyu wandering around somewhere in the middle of the wild area, larvesta in IOA, cramorant in IOA(which i tried to get pre-ioa but went way over odds for and gave up), lilligant on the honeycalm islands(this was really easy since 6 spawns!), i might also do a comfey since it is the same as lilligant in foggy weather.
Done a few more i can't remember off the top of my head, glad theres shiny hunters doing these and not just hatching eggs the easier way, keep up the good work!
Also, i havn't watched your full shiny hunt, but you might have been wasting encounters.
If you save in front of an allready spawned encounter, i'm pretty sure it's shiny locked even for non special encounters.
To test this, catch it and check it's iv's and nature(if you arent synching) to see if they are identical, if they are the same and its a non-shiny, it will be non-shiny no matter how many times you encounter this mon, this is my understanding of how it works anyway.
For example if i wanted to hunt tyranitar in the wild area(the one that spawns once and disappears until another day), i would need to leave dusty bowl if i accidently spawned it by getting to close, ride back to the spawn until im just out of range of the model spawning in the overworld and then soft reset for it that way, another example is the wailord in IOA, which you would need to be quite far before SR'ing for.

The very first Seadra I got in this game was one of the ones out in that exact area. Wasn't a shiny but it DOES have 'The Recluse' Rare mark.
I feel good about this because it was my comment on the stream "Dream Ball tho" that he saw that got him to use a Dream Ball on the Seadra. I know it's likely he might have been persuaded to use one anyway, but for the moment I'd just like to revel in the feeling that I helped in some capacity. :) Epic Shiny, absolutely awesome.

@aDrive is funny that I have not yet seen a video reaction to the fact that Hacked raids were patched yesterday and they are no longer possible. I'd love to see your input on this as I know this is something you were looking forward to see patched on Pokemon Sword and Shield and this is something that I also appreciate being removed tbh. As someone who threw tons of Quick Balls to finish out my Galar Dex when these games first came out I can tell you that Critical Captures can fail.

I got a shiny corphish for my shiny dex in the soothing wetlands in 5 encounters. I started it, ate lunch, came back walked to a corphish and lost my mind! I popped off so hard

For the world spawn pokes... like rare spawns or certain weather spawns have to be out of veiw to shiny hunt. Asking to make sure because i tried rockruff but was in view and same exact stats/nature/ability.

Fun Fact: "Tsu" is an actual sound. The word "Tsunami" is _not_ in fact pronounced with a silent T. (I took Japanese as my foreign language credit.) It may be difficult to hear to the untrained ear, and it's not the easiest sound to make for native English speakers, but it's definitely actually pronounced TSUnami and not Sunami. (Sensei taught us to learn to make the sound by adding an "ooh" sound to the end of "Cats". Cats-oo, Katsu, Tsu.)

I critical captured a pokemon but it escaped and then the next one I threw was a critical capture
