She was spot on regarding the fadeout. I thought the same thing that based on the lyrics this fadeout made sense. I love this song and the whole album is amazing.
Definitely not about drones/UFOs. It's about trying to use science/technology in order to try and find some sort of God like figure AKA The Watcher in the Sky.
This album is like a compilation of the best of the 80s - early 90s. It's got rocking tunes and ballads. It's got everything that made 80s rock great. This and Spillways is probably my favourite off the album.
Subscribed. Love your style guys. It is genuine, not fake or acting. She nailed it, you can almost imagine the search lights listening to the track. (I also like the fact you can hear your kids in the background, being a father myself this was also one aspect that I like).
Tobias Forge said in an interview "This reverts back to the imperial world of Flat Earth Society members, basically. The narration is calling upon the scientific community to use whatever science we have here within this empire to stop looking at the stars and look for God instead. Can we reverse the tools that we have to watch the stars to communicate with the Lord? And is there any way to scientifically prove that the world is actually flat? Because it looks awfully flat from where we’re standing. So it’s a song about regression"
I owe you guys an apology. When watched your first video I was like I don’t know about this. Now I’m checking and rechecking my phone hoping to see a notification for more of your videos. Awesome reactions and having fun as well.
Wow,thank you! Full disclosure, we are complete noobs at the UA-cam thing so our first videos were our first attempts! Hopefully getting better with more experience!
My new favorite reactors! So glad I found you guys :) Am I the only one who gets Ultimate Sin/Jake E Lee era Ozzy Osbourne vibes on this song? Also get a Savatage "Strange Wings" feeling in the outro. This is my personal favorite song on the album, although I love the whole thing.
I just discovered your channel in the past couple of days with these Ghost reactions. You guys are great, I love your style and you really know music and notice the intricacies of the songs. Awesome stuff, keep up the great work!
You guys do it in one shot. No cuts. I like that. I know avoiding silences or pauses can be tricky but I wouldn't mind if there are some. It's more realistic.
This a song that as soon as I heard I knew they had to do it live. Your right about that almost siren sound. You can envision something like WWI or II with the searchlights probing the sky for Zeppelins. Like you gotta do that live with search lights at the arena.
I'm just commenting on everyone of your videos at the point. I'm obviously a huge nerd for this band. I love his ability to write songs that could have double meanings. For me, this song is Satan inflicting the thought into people that with so much bad happening to people in the world, where is God? How could he let this happen? If he's everywhere and watching everything he is failing. It's the inevitable cynicism that starts to creep in when you start asking yourself those questions. I love that it fades out because to me it implies they're forever searching for God but never find them.
You need to try out Status Quo, massive band all over the world, except USA! But, I believe minor keys is their thing. Don't do any songs after 1981, but the 10 years before that, they were awesome.
or a burden to my ears. Honestly, I wouldn't mind so much if that acoustic passage wasn't so freaking gorgeous. But because it is such a beautiful acoustic melody, it feels sacrilegious to desecrate it with nonsense. :)
Haha, just got done commenting on another video you guys did w/ Ghost where fade-outs were dismissed. And I made the same exact point Jennifer made :) There's definitely a time and place for them.
this is an 80s Arena rock anthem song...i can hear hints of Ozzy and hints of Dokken among the influences in this song....just expect to hear the crowds chanting along with the chorus

Yes! Simone is fantastic! But I kind of wish they’d stop with the death vocals. For me it’s always been the weakest part of the band. But yeah I do love their music!
watcher in the sky is in Tobias's own words about how we could basically reverse evolution could happen through means of science basically flatten the earth and stuff like that witch in the time period would've been taken as pagan or basically witch branding....witch he basically found funny
I hear A7X influence on this one. Very very good, but I'd put it lower than any of the other major songs on this album. Song writing, production, and cohesiveness is top notch. Ghost FTW.
Man some editing would have made this song perfect. The chorus just gets grating in the last 2 minutes. It repeats 6 times before the fadeout even really begins then it sounds like it goes on like 10 times if you include those. He doesn't even change his vocal style any, it is just over... and over and over. Cut it down to two and then have it fade 2 more then I could listen to this song on loop. Need to make my own edit in Audacity. 😏

..or just NSA keeping us all safe...
I think both!!
Iys about ...the false god
.wake up..

They're the "boppiest" tracks on the album, and I fucking love them haha
i personally believe the fade out lasts as long as it does because its supposed to represent the eternal search for the watcher in the sky
Good point!
True. Tobias knows what's he's doing.
That full neck chord at the beginning of the two phrases in the pre-chorus is absolutely massive and fills the entire air with like a sonic wall.
This was such a fun series of videos! Thank you for reacting to all of Impera!
Sublime song, killer riff, hypnotic chorus that changes key towards the end . Absolutely love it !
This channel is a real gem. Keep it up guys 😍 Also this song slaps hard!
Every first-time reactor to this album: It sounds so upbeat!
After reading the lyrics: This stuff is dark!
Subscribed. Love your style guys. It is genuine, not fake or acting. She nailed it, you can almost imagine the search lights listening to the track. (I also like the fact you can hear your kids in the background, being a father myself this was also one aspect that I like).
Thank you! It’s definitely real life! Kid interruptions and all! ❤️
I am really enjoying you guys....my second favorite song on the album call me little sunshine still my favorite 😍 thank you both..
Thanks Chris!

Love his vocals on this song really well!!!!
Call me Little Sunshine is my favorite song off the album! But I love all the songs.
Love this song

@@FlameImperishable that’s what makes it good . It’s real .
Perfection!!!! Tobias is a genius
Heavy friggin' riff! Love it!
LOVE THE MUSTACHE DUDE!!! Never seen that style with the beard. Just wanted to say that man 😂😂
Thanks man!!!
My new favorite reactors! So glad I found you guys :)

Wow thank you so much! I can totally see Ozzy singing this!
I've loved all of your reactions. You are both beautiful people.
Aww thanks!
Excellent!! The guitar parts sound like Randy Rhoades meet Zakk Wylde!!🤘🤘😀😀😀
Can't wait for you to do the last song you haven't done on the album - Spillways. Definetily one of my favorites of the entire album! :D
I just discovered your channel in the past couple of days with these Ghost reactions. You guys are great, I love your style and you really know music and notice the intricacies of the songs. Awesome stuff, keep up the great work!
Thanks Paul! More to come this week!!
Whitesnake baby!!
You guys do it in one shot. No cuts. I like that. I know avoiding silences or pauses can be tricky but I wouldn't mind if there are some. It's more realistic.
Wow thanks! Yeah I’m conflicted on whether we should start editing or just keep it casual. Thanks for the feedback!

Faith No More that keyboard.
Guitist for Opeth did guitar work for the album so that's why the guitars sound fantastic
Amazing reaction this album by far stands next to prequelle maybe a tad better.. I’m sure the best is yet to come
It also is the end of side a of the vinyl and it's 80 esk.
If journey and queensryche had a baby This would be the song
If you haven't already checked it out, I'd recommend listening to "See the light" from ghosts album Prequelle. I'd like to hear your take on it
I'm just commenting on everyone of your videos at the point. I'm obviously a huge nerd for this band.

That ending to Burden from Opeth I think is classic. But if you think of it, it’s like the detuning is its own form of a burden on the guitar.

The beginning is a plane being shot down??

Hey guys. Have you ever checked out Epica? Dutch Symphonic progressive metal band . I’d love for you guys to check out their newest album Omega
Yes! Simone is fantastic! But I kind of wish they’d stop with the death vocals. For me it’s always been the weakest part of the band. But yeah I do love their music!
So when do we get to see a gun show by this guy? Asking for a friend.
10:45 the watcher in the sky is God, he is asking where is God he is MIA
are you guys going to do Spillways? didn't see that on your channel
Yes we will get it up this week! Sorry for the delay!
@@FlameImperishable all good! its my favorite on the album so im excited to see your reactions! also: Ghost will be on Jimmy Kimmel in about 45 mins!
watcher in the sky is in Tobias's own words about how we could basically reverse evolution could happen through means of science basically flatten the earth and stuff like that witch in the time period would've been taken as pagan or basically witch branding....witch he basically found funny
Watcher in the sky is about using the technology we have to look for god instead of looking for answers in space
I think the watcher in the sky is referring to a God that people are searching for.
Great song and comments! Just think he's talking about people searching for God :)
You are right!
The watcher in the sky is God.
His arms 🤔🤔 ... big . How ?
This sounds like a missing Ozzy Osbourne song and with Zakk Wylde. Back when Ozzy was the guy
You’re right!
I interpreted the "Watcher in the Sky" as god.
I hear A7X influence on this one. Very very good, but I'd put it lower than any of the other major songs on this album. Song writing, production, and cohesiveness is top notch. Ghost FTW.
You should definitely react to Helvetesfonster (instr) / Life Eternal from Prequelle.
Yeah, it's very guitar focused, and that "solo" reminds of something Synsyster Gates would play.
You're stopping on a 🎸 solo
🤣

A fair point!
Watcher in the Sky with Diam.... wrong song
