I’ve been dealing with chronic right food, leg, and back pain since 2012. Going in next week to see the neurologist about a Medtronic neuro-stimulator implant. Because my pain is more widespread I was told that was the best option. Appreciate your videos and wish you continued success with your DRG.
Hello! I recently came across your video doing some research. I am a young 22 year old girl, my story i think is a little different, I have had 3 failed back surgeries with no luck and still in constant pain every single day. Im wondering if there was anything you wish you knew before getting the DRG? Also do you have to charge it everyday? Can you go through metal detectors? Im wondering how did your life change with the way you have to take care of the DRG? Thank you!
Things I wish I knew before surgery: the surgery is painful, I needed more time to heal then they let on and there are five things I would do differently. 1. ice more often after surgery 2. do not travel after surgery 3. If they say it takes 6 weeks to heal give yourself 12 4. Ask for Ketamine during the surgery 5. Use a tight wrap around my battery and I rested on a hand made cushion. That said, I do not have to charge my battery. The battery will last for five years. I can go thru metal detectors without any problems. My life has changed dramatically. It hasn't taken away all my pain but it has improved my ability to function. Before surgery I was in a wheelchair and hardly leaving my house. I am now able to walk with little to no pain, workout and drive. my pain comes and goes throughout the day but overall I am really glad I got it!
