Hi, I'm very interested in this model, I see that Cometa offers and option of Spring powered or gas powered, would love to see a video on how they each perform?!
Hi Sergio! Aaaah don't ask me that! Anything but that haha. For me simply because it'd be easier to hunt with I'd choose the Ultra Short Carbine. I prefer working rifles to range rifles usually and it's still a ridiculously accurate little rifle but the handling on that little thing is superb. If I was more into target shooting however it'd be the Fusion, its already proven itself at 40 yards but it's also such a beautiful looking thing, it'd definitely get a ton of looks at the range. Saying this however the little 300 is still tempting as it's such a lovely rifle for the money and still incredibly accurate. But for me it's the USC.
please can you do a comparison on the Cometa Fusion spring and gas ram...it would be 8nteresting to see which system is the most accurate and has the least recoil out of the two?
Hi Dorian! The rifle was a spring powered bog standard Fusion. (Shameless plug alert) If you want to see another standard spring Fusion put through its paces further check out my "100 yard springer" video.
@@bigdansairguns83 hi I have checked the other one out. the reason I'm asking is because there's a gas ram version as well and I wonder if it's as accurate? it seems that only the gas ram version is available in my country?! it would be interesting to compare both systems side by side?!
You have done 100, 300, Fusion reviews.....I hope your revision for Cometa 220, I want to have one for my birthday but there is no review one about it.
Hi Gabi! Thanks for getting in touch, the 220 will be the next springer we review and from what I've seen and heard from customer feedback they're a stonking little rifle. I'll see what I can do for you Gabi.
Love your videos great review man hey I am here America I just order one same exact gun in 177 u think it will kick more when shooting it because here America it’s between 15 and 17 foot pounds
Very interesting rifle this, although plastic trigger parts are a turn-off. My Cometa 5 .22 was probably the least sophisticated, least expensive airgun in the shop when it was bought in the '90s and even that most basic model has a metal trigger and trigger guard. I like it because it's so basic, open sights, no safety catch, no checkering on the simple wood stock. Easy to cock and has a strong ball-detent lock up. The barrel is surprisingly good and for what it is (a little gun for plinking) it still works like a charm.
Hey Beesa! Yeah the plastic triggers really get on my nerves as I'm sure people would gladly pay a few extra ££'s for a metal blade. All brands do it however even some of the premium gear use plastic despite the cost of them. A bit cheeky to be fair.
@@bigdansairguns83 Cheers Dan, yeah to be fair it is. Even if it's supposedly a 'high impact polymer' or 'weight saving composite' or whatever, it's pretty obvious that metal beats plastic as a trigger.
I have that very gun in .22, that and my AA TX200 are my favourite springers, I do have a Diana 48 in .177 that I am fond of too but it is hefty! Amazingly, my pellet choice matches yours, .22 Superdomes! JSB Exact go pretty well too from my experience. I had always thought it was a matt black anodised aluminium trigger unit but as you say, it is 'ballistic' plastic as gun makers like to call it, interesting the lower end Cometa's have metal ones, how bizarre
Hey Baz! Ah yes... the "ballistic synthetic polymer", fancy plastic. I just don't understand why the cheaper rifles get metal while the flagship rifles like the Fusion/400's etc all get plast-err ballistic polymer? I'm trying to source someone that could knock us a few new blades up. Imagine your Fusion with a brass or silver blade. Gorgeous!
Hey Justin! I honestly can't choose between them. I think the USC might just squeak ahead for me as it's more of a working gun and I'm always biased towards those but that Fusion is a stunner. I'll wait to hear from you mate.
How loud would you say this rifle is? Obviously it has no ability to add a moderator but I have heard it has some form of moderation within the barrell
Hi Deathboom. The rifle is pretty quiet to be fair. The Fusion's also don't have any real twang to them that really helps and that long barrel definitely helps to make it more mute than some. Thanks mate and I hope this helps!
Very detailed review, Dan. Good shooting at 40 yards! Would you please give it a close-up shot near the breech? I'm curious about the barrel locking mechanism. Thank you!
Hey Run Run! The best thing to do is get in touch with me via our contact us page at www.bigdansairguns.co.uk/contact.php This way I can send pictures etc. The rifle uses the same ball bearing detent as the other Cometas.
@@bigdansairguns83Any news on the plastic trigger? Spring is coming and likely to take up this air gun malarkey soon as yet another retirement hobby. I am torn between a .22 Fusion and HW95.
I hunt with a 80s long barrel and then shoot at the range does that come of and what are the threads and if right, threads, and I will put a moderator on it
Hi Micael! Yes you can the brake itself is threaded into the barrel shroud. Just be advised that it'll likely have loctite on there. You can also remove the shroud completely with the small grub screw located on the bottom
@ hey, thank you so much for answering so quickly! I will try and remove it then Was applying quite a lot of force by hand and it would budge Have a nice day!
Hi Ashwaghosh. I haven't shot the Diana 350 yet so I can't comment much on that unfortunately. That being said the Fusion is certainly one helluva rifle. If I can get my hands on a Diana Magnum I'll see what I can do.
Hi Mark! It's an eye catching beast isn't it? I love the lines on the rifle and that checkering pattern is beautiful. I wasn't sure on the muzzle break to be begin with but when you see it in person it finishes the rifle off perfectly. The walnut version is a handsome beast too.
Hi Dan, is the cometa fusion trigger better than the SMK XS20? I still can't believe these plastic triggers ! I just can't understand it, just to save a few quid ??
Hey Toxic! The trigger from the factory is lighter than the XS20 unit which I personally prefer over a heavier trigger. It depends on what sort of pull you prefer as they're both excellent triggers.
Yes I see what you mean. lovley rifle, just hope the after market comes in with a metal trigger .. I have two hw97's I understand you get what you pay for. I also have a beeman duel .22 I can forgive the plastic guard for the money I payed. (£180) But £295 and plastic. Cheers Dan brilliant work mate keep it up !!!
@@toxicliver Exactly my thoughts mate. Sub £200 plastic isn't really worth complaining about unless it's a huge unnecessary glob of it on the end of the barrel. That's the lovely thing about Weihrauch, everything that should be metal is metal (with exception to the HW110).
In my opinion the Air Arms CD unit is the best, better than the Rekord. The T06 is good too but not as good as Air Arms and too different from the Rekord to really say if it's better. To me, the TO6 is a little less predictable than the Rekord maybe, but can be adjusted easier and can be made extremely light.
Hi Patrick! I'd take either one! That said I haven't been able to play with a T-06 yet but I've heard very good things. I like a light trigger so that could be my favourite of the three. Thanks Patrick!
Hi SND. In my opinion it's the superior rifle. The trigger is a little better, the shot cycle is smoother and it kicks a bit less despite being the same power. That being said the Sabre is still an excellent rifle but the Fusion is on another level at least in my opinion. Thanks and I hope this helps.
Hey Michael. It shouldn't make a difference but if you slapped a silencer on there it'd be huge!! You wouldn't need to take aim at the rabbit you could just rest the silencer against its head haha. To be fair the rifle is quiet anyways as that big barrel does an excellent job at calming any muzzle report.

@@yetiwheeler7972 Hi Yeti. The Konus 550 is a fantastic target scope. It doesn't use mildots but has a stepped ballistic reticle which I find less intrusive than a mildot scope. They're also a tough bit of kit too being rated for the US centerfire market.
I have 3 Weihrauch rifles and also have 2 Cometas in my collection, performance wise the the Cometas will equal the Weihrauchs and at times come out on top. So with respect you need to do your homework.
Plastic trigger again .... 👎👎👎 ..... Again I'de pass on this rifle just because of the cheap parts that would cost pennies for the manufacturer to put right .
It is very annoying to be fair. That being said Cometa are excellent at responding to feedback so hopefully the next few batches may have lovely metal triggers on them. The unit itself is actually excellent but manufacturers can't help but throw plastic on there. Cheers bud.

Very nice looking.
I was thinking on the smk b3 series... (Chinese underlever rifle) It would be wonderful if you review one of them, cheap and good, you'll love it
Hi Eduardo!
We do have one with us at the moment actually which we do plan on reviewing in the future. Watch this space.
Hi Big Dan, I just want to know if the Fusion you used in this video was spring or gas ? ram(pis
@@bigdansairguns83 Thank you Dan, I will waiting for it!!
Great review Dan👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thanks Alan!
Gorgeous!
😊👌Excellent review. Fusion or usc. I WILL be intouch.
Hey Justin!
I honestly can't choose between them. I think the USC might just squeak ahead for me as it's more of a working gun and I'm always biased towards those but that Fusion is a stunner. I'll wait to hear from you mate.
great great channel. springers is my fav.
@@bigdansairguns83 thank you for such a quick reply. And I was hoping you were going to day that haha
Thank you so much. could it shoot longer ranges like 100 meters ?
Very detailed review, Dan. Good shooting at 40 yards! Would you please give it a close-up shot near the breech? I'm curious about the barrel locking mechanism. Thank you!
Hey Run Run!
The best thing to do is get in touch with me via our contact us page at www.bigdansairguns.co.uk/contact.php
This way I can send pictures etc. The rifle uses the same ball bearing detent as the other Cometas.
it's a ball detent mechanism. works well.
A year on have Cometa done anything about the plastic trigger?
Hey bud!
Something is definitely stirring in Spain but if I say any more they may turn up in red robes and harass me.
@@bigdansairguns83Any news on the plastic trigger? Spring is coming and likely to take up this air gun malarkey soon as yet another retirement hobby. I am torn between a .22 Fusion and HW95.
@@bigdansairguns83Nobody expects the Spanish inquisition! 😂
I hunt with a 80s long barrel and then shoot at the range does that come of and what are the threads and if right, threads, and I will put a moderator on it
hey, are you able to remove the muzzle brake on the Comet Fusion?
Hi Micael! Yes you can the brake itself is threaded into the barrel shroud. Just be advised that it'll likely have loctite on there. You can also remove the shroud completely with the small grub screw located on the bottom
@ hey, thank you so much for answering so quickly!
I will try and remove it then
Was applying quite a lot of force by hand and it would budge
Have a nice day!
Sir
Cometa fujen or Daina magnum 350
Which rifle is best?
Hi Ashwaghosh.
I haven't shot the Diana 350 yet so I can't comment much on that unfortunately. That being said the Fusion is certainly one helluva rifle. If I can get my hands on a Diana Magnum I'll see what I can do.
Hi dan, have you ever used a stoeger x20? was looking at one and wondering if you know much about them
could you see if you can do a remington express .22 please?
I must say , thats a bloody nice stock ..
Thanks Patrick!
hello sir, i have one, but i don t know how much joule ?
Is Cometa Fusion better airgun than Remington Sabre?
Hi SND.
In my opinion it's the superior rifle. The trigger is a little better, the shot cycle is smoother and it kicks a bit less despite being the same power. That being said the Sabre is still an excellent rifle but the Fusion is on another level at least in my opinion.
Thanks and I hope this helps.
Great testing but will it be accurate with a silencer on it ???
Hey Michael.
It shouldn't make a difference but if you slapped a silencer on there it'd be huge!! You wouldn't need to take aim at the rabbit you could just rest the silencer against its head haha. To be fair the rifle is quiet anyways as that big barrel does an excellent job at calming any muzzle report.
@@bigdansairguns83 thank you
With your last Video on the 2 Cometa Rifles. Do you think this will make a Good Trainer Rifle 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The Title of the Video Says .22 Dan Thanks for the Video. 👍👍👍👍
Hi Yeti.
Doh! I'll get that changed it's where I've shot so many .22's lately haha. Thanks for the heads up!
@@bigdansairguns83 What scope is on the gun
@@bigdansairguns83 Is it a good Target Scope???
@@yetiwheeler7972 Hi Yeti.
The Konus 550 is a fantastic target scope. It doesn't use mildots but has a stepped ballistic reticle which I find less intrusive than a mildot scope. They're also a tough bit of kit too being rated for the US centerfire market.
@@bigdansairguns83 How much is the 550 scope please mate ???
Nice rewiew..
Thanks Fernando!
All the good stuff and the put a plastic trigger on it .
Quality
I have 3 Weihrauch rifles and also have 2 Cometas in my collection, performance wise the the Cometas will equal the Weihrauchs and at times come out on
top. So with respect you need to do your homework.
My previous post was not aimed at Dan it was aimed at the idiot decrying Cometa air rifles.
Cheers bud.
Buy a weirauch and you will forget about cometa junk
Hey Bud.
I like Weihrauch as much as the next man but have you shot the latest Cometa rifles? Might be worth trying one as they're right up there with HW now in our accuracy tests.
We actually have a customer in Norfolk who bought a 220 off of us and says it outshoots his tuned HW95. You can see his post on the Longwater Rifle Club page on FB.
Cheers!
