- I barely made it out of these mountains before nightfall..
In this video I will begin part one of a journey that I vowed that I would do before winter. These mountains have humbled me twice now, but I am determined to conquer this range. This is my third and final attempt before next season and it is an immense challenge.
I will have to deal with crashing, deadfall trees, running out of water, brutal terrain and more..

I really like riding in the fall, but my foot incident a few weekends ago has made me decide to hold off on riding for a bit longer.
How long is the trail?
Did you ride from home to the trailhead, or truck your bike to the trailhead?
I rode out to the trailhead which was a bit of a ways but the trail itself was only 15 miles so I wasn't too worried!
If you’re considering a clutch rebuild I would suggest a 4.0 Rekluse! Not for everyone but with the technical riding you like it would help!! Nice riding, filming and editing!!
I actually have given serious thought to it. It all comes down to money. Typically winter time is my project time for my bikes, but we will see how much I can budget this season for bike work. I really wanna do some cosmetic changes, some crash damage protection upgrades, clutch, suspension, and maybe an ECU.

I'm from Manitoba, Canada. Grew up riding dirt bikes, started when i was 10 and im now 26. Have had a Honda 250L since spring 2023, took it to Moab and Colorado that summer. After watching your videos and doing a bunch of research, i just picked up a 2017 KTM exc-f 500. Already planning some mods for it, haha. Hopefully back down to Moab next fall.
Nice man!! Thats such a great bike and if I didn't have my 501, I would probably have gone with the KTM. Maybe I will see you in Moab because I am hoping to go back sometime soon!
@@madjack_757 As far as I understand the 501 and the 500 are nearly the same? Yeah I've got quite a list of trails I hope to do out there. Would be cool to have someone to ride with out there, I'm planning on doing White Rim and the trifecta (poison spider/golden spike/onion creek), plus a few others.
Thats so awesome!! I've wanted to ride white rim for a good long while now. I actually tried to get the permits to do it this year, but had arguments with the National Parks Service because they wanted to get so much money from me so I could film the ride.

What bag are you using on your headlight mask? Looks like it fits pretty good and is very functional.
I have a bag from Wolfman which carries my camera batteries and then I have a smaller camo bag made by Upshift Online on top of the wolfman bag. That one I called the bank cuz its where I keep all the mountain money (toilet paper) lol
I was just out riding northern Ontario logging roads north of Cartier Ontario near the watershed it’s called Metagama rd there are hundreds of km of road and trails I want to go back up north soon before the snow flys anyways this area I’m talking about is skidoo country in the winter too
Yeah I never got into sleds, but I know once I try it, I am going to become broke from buying a snowmobile hahahaha. I've heard its so fun. Definitely try to get out there while you have a bit more time! I feel lucky since I can switch over to riding the high desert in the off season, so theres nearly year round riding here (if you can handle the cold lol)!

I have 3 DJI drones and 4 GoPros for my videos. I also have some other cameras for client work that I’m incorporating for some future videos that are currently in the editing process 🤙🏼
Do you use Gaia or trailforks so you have some idea how far you have to go?
I have a Garmin zumo and I always know the trail lengths before I start the trail 🤙🏼

What's the temps up there now?
Its different every year.. I can expect snow to hit the mountains sometime in November, but it can range from a light covering that is still rideable to being totally unsafe to ride. If I really want to push it and the weather is nice to me, then I can ride the mountains into late november maybe maybe part of december. Thats if I really want to push it tho. The good news is, the desert will be open and rideable!!
16:30 too bad! The move was there... Sometimes it's hard to pivot from a leg to another but it's all about weight distribution and throwing your butt the side you're aiming for.
Yeah I really would love do some hard enduro training next season. I think it could really improve my form.
