If it touches in group functionig it might be okay but if it put force in some anterior solely, it can put the patient to the bed. Distal movement in tmj where there is no space and pushing anterior forward will lead to nose deviation , facial pain,swallow problems and also shaking of facial nurves around the anterior which holds jaw. Just an idea, not to follow, i am not a dentist.
