Setting multiple hubs in China is great idea and it will reduce the burden on a single city. But the other problem is now you have too many stopping routes, for instance, a person going to Indonesia from Romania, will have to go to Sarajeva, Rome, Austria, Berlin, Moscov, Astana, Wuhan, Burma and then Jakarta. Not suggesting a single long route, but try to minimize the number of stops on the way. In Europe you have connected a single capital city to multiple capital cities, In Africa you didnt do it so when one of your hub was damaged you had to create and improve the other line. In that route there was no alternate in case the route failed, so you had to scramble to save the game. If Paris or rome fails you have too many alternate airports who will handle the traffic. Internal traffic will be disrupted and you will still have to save it bu if Rome fails a person from Paris will still find its way to athens because there are too many alternate routes. Think if Storm or Earth Quake damages Astana? How would you handle this? A lot of flights from Berlin to Moscow are carrying people who want to go to China, so i would recomment a direct flight from Berlin to Beijing/Wuhan. Also recommend you to connect cities together dont rely on a single hub. A failure of a single route will ruin the game. Dont focus on time, but focus on having extra money. atleast have 10,000. Dont go under it. The game gives you 5 minutes to unlock a country but it gives you 5 seconds to upgrade an airport.
I did consider that too, that holding on to a minimum amount of money was important. But it quickly went out the window. If a disaster hit Astana they would use the ultra awkward router of Moscow > South Korea > Beijing. Not great, but at least it wouldnt cause another Mali issue
That was pretty much the thinking behind my comment as well - Astana can at least be bypassed by the Moscow-Seoul-Beijing route, but if Moscow were shut down due to some random event, then that would completely cut the link between Africa/Europe and Asia. Likewise if Berlin had to shut down - that would also completely cut the link between W./S. Europe with E. Europe and Asia. Given that Berlin-Moscow-Astana-Beijing/Wuhan is pretty much the spine of the network, there would be major problems if just one of those airports had to shut down. That's why I would suggest a Sarajevo-Kiev-Tblisi-Tashkent-Beijing/Wuhan route running parralel to the existing spine (and also creating connections with that spine if possible). If somewhere in South Asia like India or Nepal opens up, then you could have a Tashkent-Naypidaw route via South Asia, thereby being able to bypass Beijing/Wuhan as well. Urumqi could also be used as a holding airport in case either Russia or Kazakhstan has to shut down. Good to make sure alternative routes are also available :)
@@S2isDrawingDead You could try to add a level of hub over the regional/country hubs you currently have. Basically designate a city in Europa, one in Northern Asia, one in Eastern Asia, one in Western Asia, one in Southern Asia, one in Nothern Africa etc, as a Overregional Hub and connect all the overregional Hubs together and connect the overregional Hub with every Regional Hub in their Area.
But the game also not nice enough to put the map unlocking list, since they often put like a needle route when it's possible to make simpler route when India and other middle eastern country unlocked
@@samuelevolve184 yeah part of the issue here really is that very stretched one, the game imo should focus on opening up more in circles instead of stretching out like this. Would make it a lot more viable to have multiple major routes between things

I wouldn't sell the routes in China. Since people still want to travel domestically and leaving existing routes after making the new hubs still allows for people to get in and out of areas most optimally for revenue and airport relief.
Shanghai gets a lot of traffic and connecting it to other big cities in China is worth it. Tianjin should get a couple of its own routes too in my opinion. It's very tempting just to pair it up to Beijing and do nothing else, but Tianjin alone is a somewhat big destination.

Hey Drawing Dead, really good series, enjoying this a lot! Just something I noticed: all of the flights leaving Berlin for Moscow are either red or orange - that's pretty much because the only way of getting from Africa, Western and Southern Europe on the one hand to Eastern Europe and Asia on the other is that you have to go through Berlin. That could potentially be a problem in the long run as more of Asia opens up (as well as the Americas, seeing as Venezuela is next to be opened up). It might be a good idea to link somewhere like Sarajevo with Kiev so that there's another route to Eastern Europe, taking some burden off Berlin. If you then also followed up the Kiev-Tblisi route with a route from Tblisi to Tashkent and then Tashkent to Wuhan, that would create another corridor between East and West, taking pressure off Moscow and Astana. Also might be a good idea to make greater use of Urumqi in China, given it's the only city that is sort of halfway between Central Asia and the rest of the Chinese cities. Bigger challenge now though might be getting Indonesia and Venezuela sorted, but hope those two cents help!
Just wanna tell that it will be significantly harder after opening 40%-ish of the map.... the prices to open a new country skyrocketed so much.
