Excellent video, just what I needed, Roborock really should pay you for this! As with another commenter, I cleaned parts I never knew I should 😂 Thank you!
Ohhhh thank you so very much for posting this video. Being an elderly person, they think we automatically know how to do things. We were never groomed for technology. The instruction booklet is absolutely usless (to me anyway, lol). Thanks again. 🙏
Thanks for the video. I've done general maintenance with my Roborock; however, my vacuum got into some fine ash. We have a woodstove; while removing the ash from the woodstove, some got under the woodstove, leaving a very fine layer that blended right into the tile, and the vacuum went right over that. Since some items needed replacement, I just took care of everything. This video was very helpful in checking other areas, and now my vacuum is as good as new.
amazing and thorough videos, also the music is matching perfectly. One thing to note, on the mopping pad the brownish stains are because of the dryer first usages, it's some plastic residue from the vents due to the heating inside the dock, so with a new one you wont have this anymore in the future, maybe in the long run but not so soon as when robot was new.
Glad I found you, Shipmate. And thank you for taking the time to teach! You pointed out areas of filth I didnt know I had! I think this may solve my streaking problem too. (Later) Yep, it solved the streaking. Thanks, again!
Great job, better than Roborock's videos. And soothing music and voice, I left feeling relaxed and ready to clean my vacuum! I'd like to mention that the dirty water tank should be emptied very regularly, if not after every mopping session. I find that if you don't use the mopping feature frequently (such that it fills up and prompts emptying) letting the dirty water linger leads to a very foul odor. I use a spray cleaner containing bleach in the tank and let it sit for 5 minutes or so before rinsing it out (don't leave it in the tank, it can eat the plastic). I leave the dirty water tank door open while it's in the dock so it can dry it out when not in use.
Another tip for smell in the dirty water bin. Put 1 capful of fabulosa cleaner in the bin after rinsing. We will only ever smell fabulosa when dumping the bin after starting this.
Got the Q Revo and with some differences like the single roller this video was super helpful for me to do maintenance and keep things running great. Amazing how much hair gets stuck in the sides of the roller.
Thanks, very useful. By the way, don't you think the way the side brush gets its fibers angeled by the heat of mops drying is a design failure? Mine is like yours and in other vacuums I had that did not happened. The worst thing I think it is not just a chosmetic error, cause sometimes I can see side brush kicking trash out instead of absorbing it. Have you had a similar experience with yours?
I think with the base you should have 2 filters so you can change it quick and easily and clean the dirty one more often to keep everything nice and clean.
Perfect videos on the S8! Helped me alot to set mine up (got it yesterday). Thank you so much Can you do another video about the app and/or best practices for daily usage? Would be awesome!
@@retrotechandelectronics Yes, thats how I found your channel. Still I think the app is quite complicated and I‘m not sure about the most effective settings yet.
No video where you can see how to take the water resovoir out of the S8 , thats the only thing i would recommend cause there is no introduction anywhere for it ;)
Thank you so much for this video! I just brought the S8 Pro, my first time ever owning a robo vac. Question: Is it normal that I hear what seems to be a loose piece inside near the mop area? Every time I flip the machine I keep hearing something move up and down as I flip it.
It looks like the same problem I have with S7 MaxV Ultra, is going to be on this new S8 vacuum. I never refill the water tank on the vacuum on my own, because it auto fills it, but today, I was looking at the cashback offer, and cleaning it up for pictures, and there is brown build up or mold/mildew in the tank! So I have been cleaning my floors with dirty water! gross! I have found the same brown mildew in my clean water tank too, but Today is the first time I even looked at the vacuum's water tank. Please come out with a better solution to add to the Roborock products! It says you are only allowed to use Roborock cleaning solution, so now I don't know what to do!
Dan, this is very valuable, thank you. For me personally, I freaking hate the "music", it makes it intolerable to rewind and rewatch, watch when hearing my own music etc. Such a high quality product, imagine if you hated the music yourself, there's just zero reason to have it there. I'd pay for a version without the crappy piano, as I would want to return to this video when performing maintenance.. but heck no not listening to that crap twice a month!
Thanks so much for the video, it’s very helpful. Just one question. Is it possible to lift the unit from the dock? I tried to and I couldn’t lift it. So in order to clean the dock (brush and water filter) I started a vacuum clean to move it off the dock. Is it ok to then turn the unit upside down to perform maintenance while on pause? Thank you
I believe the latest S7 now has the dryer as standard, making both on par as far as maintenance goes. I like the 8 for better suction, the dual roller, the lift system and better aesthetics.
I do have some cocnerns with the deformed brushes. I have an Ecovacs T8 and have never had this issue. I'm considering upgrading to the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra but this feels like somewhat of a deal breaker as it would severely affect it's ability to sweep up dirt. How long did it take the brushes to deform?
Can I ask my roborock s8 pro ultra is leaking every time it’s filling up the robot? Any ideas how to fix this or what’s causing the problem? Thanks Casey
Has anyone tried measuring the electricity consumption of the mop dryer? I live in a humid environment so 3 Hours has it just about fully dry 4 hours would likely be ideal. I do use it twice a day in the dining room/kitchen (baby + meals = mess) so I wanted to see if it was a significant power draw.
Has anyone been able to access the onboard water tank? Mine is causing an awful smell everytime after mopping. Roborock is not acknowledging this. All they're saying to send it for a warranty service...WTF
So we are finding a lot of resting water just in the base of the dock (the filter is perpetually wet, the high speed brush and the area is the dock to the left of the high speed brush? Is that normal?
Do I need to remove the water container from the robot before turning it upside down? And it needs to be done on a soft surface to avoid damaging the sensors that sitck out on the top of the unit?
