  • This was shortly after Dino's Friar's Club Testimonial Dinner - Roast in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel Basildon Room September 13th 1984.
    It aired on or about Nov 15, 1984, i think it was a 3 part over 3 days and this is most of it. Correct me if i'm wrong.
    Quality is terrible but it's a miracle that i didn't throw this away, it was a close one, If there is a better version out there please link me to it.

      D Lepanto And not only a wonderful singer, but also an extremely funny comedian, a very talented actor and a great all-around entertainer in the true sense of the word. Also, according to many who actually knew him and worked with him, Dean was a genuinely nice guy offstage as well as on, a very quiet, self-deprecating man with apparently very little ego (not a ‘big-head’, as we would say in the U.K.)

    Not to stick up for Sinatra, or the situation, but @7:31, David Hartman reports that the New Jersey gaming commission said that Frank Sinatra was abusive at the gaming table;and forced the dealer to break the rules and deal two decks which got everyone in trouble. If that was the case, and Dean also mentioned earlier that no one would back Sinatra up. If it were true that Sinatra was abusive and forced the dealer whatever? Then where is the footage from the hidden cameras at the casinos have; they have more hidden cameras than a camera shop; the casino and the gaming commission have no proof from what I gather, it's the Casinos/ New Jersey gaming commissioner's word against Sinatra's

    He thinks she nay not want him again?? Bets if he tried she’d be back, she moved a few houses down to him, sees him as much as possible and has dinner with win a few times a week, sounds like she would have but he would have to stop cheating , most men do ,never met a man that didn’t cheat, some more then others, can’t find a totally faithful man, they don’t exist, but they will fall apart if the woman cheats, it’s a one way street and we can’t fix it, accept it or don’t get married

    This is from philly.com, shortly after Frank's death:
    In 1983, the public got a glimpse of a darker side to Sinatra. During one of his engagements at the Golden Nugget, Sinatra wandered out onto the casino floor with Dean Martin, sat down at a blackjack table, and ordered the dealer to use only one deck of cards and to deal by hand.
    Neither practice was permitted in Atlantic City, and the dealer refused. Sinatra, who casino employees said appeared drunk, threatened not to perform at the casino.
    ``He asked me, `You don't want to play? You don't want to play one deck, you go back to China,' '' the Korean-born dealer later testified.
    Fearful of losing her job, she did as Sinatra demanded. For that, she and three supervisors who stood by were suspended by the Casino Control Commission. The Golden Nugget was fined $25,000. An outraged member of the commission called Sinatra an ``obnoxious bully.''
    Sinatra left Atlantic City, vowing never to perform there again. But he did return, performing in the late '80s and early '90s at the Sands. His last show was in December 1994.

    • @lindashelley3635
      @lindashelley3635 7 років тому +1

      A Krenwinkle I have never been in a casino but I would have thought that as they had performed at Atlantic City plenty of times before, and must have surely also played in the casino there, that they must have known what he rules were. Unless of course the management had recently changed them.

    • @akrenwinkle
      @akrenwinkle 7 років тому

      You don't understand- there were no rules for Sinatra; rules were for other people. Dealers were supposed to dispense cards from a little device called a "shoe" only. I don't know enough about the game to get why it made a difference, but maybe Frank did. The "you go back to China" quote was widely publicized at the time, and the public got a rare taste of Frank's true self, as opposed to the usual charitable public relations his management put out. Frank was an alcoholic and likely drunk at the time, and as is often the case, people say exactly what they mean when too drunk to self-censor.
