    I just made these and I have to come back here to tell how awesome this recipe is. I'm gonna have dreams about how soft and fluffy these were. I changed the filling for a sweet soy sauce base and my didn't look half as good as yours but man that texture is worth everything, this almost brought tears to my eyes. I loved it...It has been a long time since I enjoyed something so much. Thank you

    I've never made baos before because they seem tedious but I've made these twice in the past week. I decreased the amount of sugar and added mushroom into the filling - the whole family loves them!

    OMG! I love BBq Pork steamed bun....it is the first thing we order when we go out for Chinese Dim Sum.... Also one thing we missed when my husband and I joined Keto Diet.       I was like that with dumplings bought from super market but it made feel a bit green. I'm wondering if they used cheap ingredients that made me feel a bit sick inside or you just can't eat them for breakfast lunch and tea. ! I haven't worked that out yet

    I’ve got home made char sui pork marinading in my fridge right now and have been looking for different ways of using it, apart from my fried rice, which is what prompted me to make it in the first place.       But you can change the pork version to chicken version though.. but of course the name is different.. char siew sauce can replace with other kind of bbq sauce.. here in Asian people did that for Muslim friends and family.. 😊

    I absolutely love this channel. I think your take on Asian cuisine is on point for those of us from mixed backgrounds. Kind of like the United Colors of Bennetton of cuisine. I myself am Eurasian and I know this dish as Bap Pao..... keep the videos coming!

    this recipe is from south of China. We have different flavors and more choices in the North of China. Love them all.

      it's cantonese bao. i make bao often i can say that chinese dont make bun like in this video.

      fussypanda do you know why the hongkong and taiwan or even malaysia pao looks whiter and more cake like and soft compare to china or other parts of the worlds pao, is there any secret that i dont know.

      @@ksam8987 china is big. the bao from the north is different from the south. i'm from the south the bao you find on the street are more fluffy then the northern ones where they prefer more firm. i dont know which part of bao you know from china so i can't tell the difference you mention. it's supposed to be white which is the colour of the flour itself.

    The oddly unique thing I noticed in your video was the absence of plastic wrap over your bowl during proofing. The simple act of placing the plate over the bowl is what so many do at home but the TV chefs love to waste plastic. It never really hit me before seeing you do what's normal that the other way looked wrong.Thank you. You have definitely gained a subscriber. And now I want bao!

    My friend’s mum used to make these for us when we would go around to his house when we were a bit younger, this dumplings were so good we would fight over them. Proper rough and tumble!

    I really like yours and your mother( she is so cool 😁) recipes. You present them in such a way that they seem very easy to prepare. Finally I managed to prepare the Chinese dumplings on steam. They are sensational !!!! Greetings from Germany !!!
