You can see where Shahrukh (Devdas) is...a place where women dance for men for money. Great great acting by Shahrukh,Madhuri(who is dancing in this song) and Aishwarya who is the other actress in the movie. The ending is spot on but sad. Great acting all around.
Actually it was a brothel and Chandramukhi was a courtesan (basically a prostitute)

this movie was based on a novel "Devdas" by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhya"
story in short is Devdas and Parvati( in short Paro) are childhood sweethearts.. Devdas is son of zamindar(lords of estate) and is educated in England and all.. while Paro comes from an ordinary family..
Devdas's parents doesn't give consent for Parvati and Devdas's wedding..
Devdas stupidly run away( without Parvati) and visits a brothel with his frnd there meets Chandramukhi ( the dancer in this video.. )
Chandramukhi develops a love for devdas on meeting him for the 1st time..
this dance sequence is Devdas 2nd visit to chandramukhis' and by this time Parvati has married some big lord..
she is in love with him but he has loved another who has been recently forced into marriage that's why he drinks alot

Im wondering if it isn't your fault you did not catch the details of the hand movements, the expressions,the intricate set design, jewellery, lighting, the 30kg outfit she is wearing and the story telling through dance which is what Kathak( the dance form being performed here in a mujra setting) but it isn't too much to expect you do a little research about the performer before reacting. The person you are referring to as 'she' is one of Bollywood's greatest ever actresses Madhuri Dixit. Hers was the more luminous and restrained performance in devdas which beautifully contrasted Shah Rukhs histrionics. Look for these details next time and the videos will be much more memorable
