I think druid and bard should be in their own tier as the most difficult classes to play. Clerics, wizards and sorcerers usually have easy options as long as they have spell slots available. Clerics can alway cast spells like bless, spiritual weapon and spirit guardians and heal in the meantime. Wizards and Sorcerers have so many of the good controll options but also blast spells like magic missile and fireball. Bard and Druid spells are so much harder to use since their staple spells are not as universal.
Yep! You definitely are right and honestly this list could really change depending on how good your DM is. I just know what it’s like when the DM wants to offer little help and it’s all on you. I just chose this list as it’s from my experience. But your points are also super solid so if anyone see this, this person is definitely right!

While I agree with the tier list itself, I expected this, due to the title, to be centered on the upcoming D&D 2024 changes.
Man I feel like such an idiot haha I didn’t even think of that..
But now that I have this video I could label it when the update comes out to be pre update and make a new one with the changes
Also I’ll make sure in September when the update comes out I’ll organize everything to be super clear what is before and after the update.
I think till September I won’t do anything related to the new update. I know a lot of DMs including me take a while to really pickup new systems

Your fighter example was exactly what I went for as my first character. His name was Albrich Greataxe and he was a drwarf with a brother, Thorin Greataxe, who was also a champion fighter but was much greedier which killed them.

We were in this hallway between worlds were you couldn’t make attacks or do anything and in one of the doorways was a lich. He sind that if we went through the door we would become rich and my friend just said “yes” and walked right through. He got instantly charmed with an impossibly high AC and then his character started trying to convince us to walk through as well. I survived to the end though.
Hahaha that’s amazing. Man that’s such a good use for the lichs. That must’ve been so fun.
@@BananaBreakdown the funniest part is that then another character went in to try and save them, also got charmed, and then a third one went in, rolled 2 natural 20s, and managed to get themselves and the second person out. The second person then tried to go back in to save the first person but we held them back. A few days later we had a dream of Thorin getting crushed between two planes of glass or something as the lich tried to extract as much soul energy as possible from them.

Also I would put ranger a bit lower because of one of the positives you mentioned. You said that recent add-one made it easier but I would argue that the need for more books would make it harder.

I think warlock is a pretty good spellcaster for beginners.

But i do have to disagree to be honest, just due to their unique spellcasting system and complex customization options. Unlike other wizards or sorcerer, they have limited spell slots that recharge on short rests, which means you now have to resource manage rests/slots another reason is their Eldritch Invocations and Pact Boons can be overwhelming for new players who aren't yet familiar with the systems.
That was my rationale though!!

For my players at least (I don't know what happens at every table in the world), having just one kind of spell slot, and having a powerfull cantrip with a rarely resisted damage type, make the warlock pretty easy for the newer players.
For a newer player, the fact that other characters have different spellcasting is pretty mich meaningless, because a new player typically start with learning about their own character and not every character at the table. For someone playing his first campaign, it doesn't matter what "other" ways of spellcasting exist, only the way his class do it.
@@BananaBreakdown Warlock might not be as easy to build but its pretty easy to play. If you have the Eldritch blast invocations and Hex you have formula that works almost all of the time. Then add some other spells that you can use on occation and youre good to go.
@@SuperSorcerer Oh i love that you do that! Thats a really good point, i think sometimes i'm pretty guilty of overthinking it. I also have done a few DM lessons and sometimes i help out kids who don't know a thing about d&d haha so they get so confused. This is actually really good advice..

Yep! I stupidly made this before even thinking of the September release ah. So I plan to make a new one as well for the new ruleset closer to when it comes out and I’ll organise them clearly :)
@@BananaBreakdown Monk should move higher just for being redone in the base class features. Druid is the same with Wildshape being streamlined, no idea if the "Known Shapes" made it into PHB. No trying to guess the stats of a Wombat.

why do so many youtubers insist on calling it "Kie" or "Kai" I mean any dnd player is a nerd and no nerd has never heard of "Qi - Chi - ki" or any of the thousands of others that are used in asian traditionalistic thinking and OVER used in every kind of media in the west.
Its pronounced "Kee" all versions of stuff like this always uses the "E" sound because most languages dont have the letter i be pronounced "ai" like in english
Since the 80s this word has been everywhere in games, anime, fantasy and other pop culture and is consistantly pronounced like "kee"

My friends constantly would tell me I’m wrong if I called it “kee” they would always refer to UA-cam and be like “see you’re wrong”. Haha I knew it! I know Qi is pronounced “kee”. I just thought due to my friends and other videos that it’s got a different pronunciation.

BTW if you ever need some insights or someone to bounce ideas off of about dnd you can always let me know ;) ive been a DM for about 15 years (not just dnd) both doing paid games, 5 sessions a week on stream campaigns and regular campaigns both around the table or online.
Mate 100% will take you up on that offer! I’m trying to figure out what would be best for the channel. If it’ll be a discord server or what. I just wish the channel was a bit bigger cause it’ll make more sense haha.
