No, it dies not, I like the 9mm too.
I recently found a never shot 1984 -80 series commander in 45 of course!! I already have 2 full size classics if current erra and one thing i don't care for is the nylon straight mainspring housing colt has been used to make it lighter!! Those will be changed for real steel and arched!!
I'm a fan of the straight Mainspring Housing, but steel is the way to go!! Wilson DOES make really good parts, I keep a good supply of their parts kicking around for situations like these.

@@yrsued thanks however the 1984 already has a steel straight mainspring!! It's the new guns from Colt that don't!! In a 9 mm it's fine for it's recoil but not in a 45 ACP

The reset sounds very tactical and positive in the video. I’ve never had a 1911 with the series 80 system. Any noteworthy differences compared to the feel of the series 70 mechanism? The series 80 aspect is the only reservation I have with the Combat Commander. Probably silly, but I’m all ears for quality perspective. Cheers!
A lot of people, me included DID NOT like the addition of the Series 80 mechanism, it didn't need to be there, but it does NOT affect the functioning of the pistol. FYI, Colt is no longer using it on their New Production pistols, at least not in the ones I have handled. You only see them in older models. I have handled Series 80 Pistols with no issues whatsoever. But it is a matter of personal taste.

@@yrsued I’ve never had a 1911 with the series 80 design. It’s my understanding that the new production Commanders are series 80 designs. I’m also looking at the Competition which is clearly labeled as a series 70 design on Colt’s website. Do you even notice a difference in the trigger feel between those two models? It’s tough to find a shop that has both in stock at the same time. Cheers!
@@steveo85 When it Tested the Competition, it had Series 80 Guts, they did change that after I got the Competition.

They released a very limited number of railed commanders a few years ago, and even less with a threaded barrel, may have been custom shop. They are insanely expensive. But seriously that’s the configuration they should be working on putting into production.
