- Three channels with distinctly different voicings and gain capabilities. The MLC S_Zero 100 retains clarity, depth, and detail all the way from sparkling cleans via delicious crunch to high-gain meltdown.
- Dual cabinets with a blend slider to mix between them. Two cabinets are included, each miked with five classic microphone models that can be positioned freely. The user can also load their own impulse responses.

Groundbreaking IRDX Technology
The new IRDX technology breathes life into the guitar sound by adding dynamic and true-to-life behavior to static speaker impulse responses.
Impulse responses are excellent at capturing the tonality and resonance of a guitar cabinet. But by nature, they are only static snapshots in time. Real-life guitar speakers react dynamically to the input from the amplifier - they move air, compress, and break up depending on how hard they are being pushed by the amp. An impulse response can replicate the tonal characteristics of a real cab but not the dynamics and other non-linearities. As a result, the sound of an IR can be two-dimensional, lifeless, and fatiguing.
The IRDX technology, developed by producer Jens Bogren, uses advanced machine learning methods to reconstruct the difference between a real cab and an impulse response. Any impulse response can be processed with IRDX, and the result is a guitar amp sim that reacts like a real amp, easily fits in a mix without sounding stale, and feels great to play.

I think the next logical step would be making an IR player with IRDX tech?
Would be insane if they‘ll decide to go for the hardware market as well, an IR loader with this functionality would be a dream. Or maybe a partnership with different hardware companies. I would love to get something like this into my Quad Cortex
@@AsgrimDestroyer Agreed. I make my own power amp IRs. It's a fantastically important part of the overall tone and there's really nothing on the market that offers this. So yeah, having an IR player with poweramp emulation and IRDX would be perfect. I'd definitely buy that. I just don't have use for another heavy and expensive amp sim suite. I have one that I like that matches my DSL50 pretty good which I use for writing and practice. But when it's time to record, I reamp through the real thing.
It would be a instant buy for me. Especially since it works with the impulses one already has and loves

After a few days of experimentation, I wish Jens/Bogren Digital would make more amp plugins like this in the future. It's okay if the specific name can't be used like "Peavey 5150". The AmpKnob series is nice but it would be great if the options shown here were also available for other popular high gain amplifier models.👍

I think without realising it was there, that IRDX is what was really standing your AmpKnob series out from the competition for me! It's a fantastic feature that really does make your sims sound like a real amp in a real cab to my ears!
You can imagine us going 'nooooo' every time we saw a video of someone disabling the cab section in Ampknobs. :D

Awesome plugin
I’m not into the voicing of the mlc amp itself but the plug in was masterfully done. I liked it blended with another tone in a mix. I’d love to see the irdx tech in an ir loader.
I love the whole thing, however, I tried bypassing everything except the cab section and running Neural Amp Modeler through it and when I A/B'd it compared to my old way of running wall of sound as my IR loader, it was like a night and day difference. I agree, make an IRDX IR Loader!
I test already the trial version, man that amp plugin the sound is just awesome. 100 % I can hear tube section on amp. I may make purchase. Great amp and sound even with impulses

I have no Amp product from Borgen, but i would buy in the near future, also because of the good reviews. Would like to see bringing out classic Amps: Vintage Marshalls ( JTM 45, Plexi, JMP, VOX, vintage Fenders (Tweeds, - Bassmann, silver- and blackface), Dumble, Trainwreck.❤
I haven't DL'd the demo yet but I will this weekend but I can say I am 100% positive I'll buy it. Jens products have brought my recordings to new levels and I am not embarrassed to say I am a real Bogren Digtial fan boi 😆 I am not a "real" metal guy but used Bass Knob and Krimh on a heavy song I put up on my page (Hanlon's Razor) that I used those 2 products on and BD has been a 100% game changer for me - and reinforced by my recording partner - that has *totally* brought up the quality of my recording significantly. I haven't bought any of BD's guitar sims yet (just a shwack of IRs) but can't wait to add this. You. guys. rock. Thanks!

Great amp, I take it expecting a soon midi evolution to use an external foot switch to change presets or A/B and may be volume by an expression. (just as Blackstar did and Neural is doing).

i`m trying it now and not really understand the feel of the amp yet. It seems to have a percussive nature in general, JM800 response and very loose Mesa-like Low-end, plus it feels like I need way more gain than with any other amp, and it kind of makes it like if play on single coils. Not a typical amp at all. Thank you for trial, will continue to explore.
Adding the IRDX feature to the current AmpKnob bundle would be a pretty sweet upgrade🤔

I wasn't able to use the standalone. My ASIO didn't like my Line-6 UX2. However, it does great in a VST DAW.
Channel 2 sounds awesome!! Need one-knob Ampknob version, in my opinion, MLC is too complicated to use, less is more.

Downloaded the trial version, sounds great. Just one little thing.
When using my UAD Apollo Twin I have the same problem that I have with the (also great) One Knob plugins. In the standalone version the input is so high, that no matter how I set the levels the apollo clips when you hit the strings hard. I have two guitars with medium/low output and pu and they work just fine. With my main guitars I use for high gain and with higher output passive pu there's always a clipping. I know that a lot of ppl have probs with the relatively high input in the apollo interfaces, but I wanted to ask if there's another solution than using a DI before the interface to lower the input. I don't have that problem with other plugins, there's really nothing wrong in my setup.
It's not a big deal for me with the One Knobs since I only use them in my DAW as plugins, but the Subzero would also be nice to jam with. Right now that's simply not possible without clipping. Thx :)

Seeing as you mentioned in a comment that the AmpKnob plug-ins quietly featured this IRDX tech, I’m wondering if your IR packs do too? And if I load in another IR in AmpKnob if that brings IRDX to it, as it would in this MLC plugin?

IRDX is a piece of software, so it cannot be a part of an impulse response. However, if you load an impulse response from (from us or anyone else) into MLC or the Ambpknob IR loader, you will take advantage of IRDX. Happy riffing!
Hi. Lets suppose that i buy the whole Bogren Digital amp sims plugins and i want to use Knob C and the IRDX cab sim, turning off S_Zero amp head; is it possible? Thx.
Ampknobs have always come with IRDX, it was a hidden feature. If you want to use the S_Zero cab section on any plugin, then yes, you can disable all the section except for the cab one. Have fun!
How can i use the irdx cab section for example with archetype gojira? Open one instance of gojire disable cab section and an instance of mlc and just enable the cab section ?
Exactly. Each section in the nav bar on top can be disabled by double-clicking.
Wonder how the irdx compares to the DSR from Celestion. Guess it is not directly comparable like here. I have the slight impression irdx sounds more realistic.

Yes! You can double-click each section in the top navigation bar and only use the cab if you want to.
Thanks. I'm playing with the trial now and comparing it to NadIR's resonance feature. Definitely worth the money. NadIR doesn't add the oomph.
