@@gabygabriella96 I think it:s really natural to expect someone to love you the way you love them too unless it's very2 obsessive stalker type of love cause no matter how much flimsy idealistic love says that love isn't about wanting anything back but giving everything, theoretically, it can be quite beautiful and sincere but in reality, I highly doubt there's a single person out there that completely feels like that. But of course one mustn't force their feelings on someone else. Here Bidam is really persistent and I think that's because throughout his life he has always been abandoned and really didn't cling onto the ppl he subtly loved eg munno and mishil but he lost both of them so to deokman he gives it hiss all cause he feels that he acn't let her go like the others and the irony is that deokman falls for him for just that . Deokman hides her feelings a lot but deep inside she wanted someone to love her for herself and not let the queen title hinder it like what happened wwith yushin. However, on Mishil's side we see how she only loves Sadaham as he hadn't wanted anything in return from Mishil. So yeah it all ultimately depends on the person too i guess.

If the series ended here I would be happy for everyone but I would ask for more Bidam. I love KNG as Bidam. His character is so complex that you're supposed to hate him but you'll end up loving him even more. Almost a decade has passed but I still watch this on youtube. I miss KNG/Bidam.
Bidam's character is exactly like his Mother's Mishil. You are supposed to hate her but you end up liking her. According to female characters I have seen so far, I can compare Mishil to Empress Ki. They are Badass ladies. They don't give a shit whatsoever. Nowadays. I rarely see such characters in dramas.

No matter what he did, Munno never praised him, never told him a warm word. And the only thing Bidam truly wanted was to be loved and accepted. For the person he loves, Bidam is ready to give all of himself. The first person that saw Bidam was Deokman. She was the first one to thank him, to be grateful to what he did, even when it was not something he could have been proud of. But that meant much to him. He was touched by the trust Deokman was giving to him. That he was useful to her. He said that himself, that he is like a duckling, who follows the first one he sees. But I think, in this case, Deokman was the one who saw him first, and it was the reason why he followed her. She was the only one who accepted him, who saw a person in him. You can't deny that he really was into her. And back then he had his own way to love. But that damn Misil, SeolWon made it complicated for him. Even Deokman did. She told him in episode 51, that he was the one that made Misils heart to melt. We all know that Misil was not able to love anyone but herself. And yet, she was the one who fooled Bidam by telling him her own vision of love. Seolwon was the one who made him feel bad because of the "sacrifice" Misil did for him to become king. You can see that all of that was planned though. But that forgot one thing: Bidam by himself never really thought of becoming a king. And compared to Misil, he was able to love and feel compassion. Thanks for your great explanation. Unfortunately Bidam was deceived by wrong people plus he got easily manipulated. If he would trusted fully the queen he would not have got himself in such a mess. I think the most loyal of 3 of them was Alchun.

That is the greatest mistake Deokman made. None of Mishil's people she spared benefited her rule. That is where I loved Yi Bang Won. The guy slaughtered anyone who would cause problems later to the throne and he enforced royal authority. No nobles dared to mess with him. He then cleared way for King Lee Do (Sejong)

Bidam is my favourite but I think she should trust Yushin than him... he has always been emotionnaly vulnerable, cant trust him 100% ,poor Bidam love him tho
Their insight of being pieces on the chess board in history inspires me greatly. Mishil played her role of being a tough opponent which disciplined Deokman and ChunChu in foreign environments and fought her to win. Their roles played great deal towards unification of three kingdoms, although incomplete with BalHae in north. Unified Shilla became a prototype of Korean unity in Korean Peninsula. I feel like "Born Again As Korean" with this drama and Jumong.
This series is really amazing. Nothing can compare it to any other series done to this day cuz it tackles heroism, bravery and patriotism. We see how strong-willed Deokman is and how she faced adversity. This has awesome episodes that make you cheer for Deokman so badly, like the eclipse scene and Misil's downfall. It's just really amazing. Empress Ki has a potential to be this great but it focuses too much on politics and strategies that they failed to make Nyang become a real hero.
Basically Deokman is a white pawn and she went to the other end of the chessboard and became queen XD basically after all of the struggles and all the adversaries she faced...

While Yusin killed Bidam out of the loyalty to the kingdom. They are equal. Still, Bidam loved the woman named Deokman until his last breath, and he loved her more that Yusin ever can love her. And it was a great love, that made him take the decision to get the throne. He believed that Deokman loves him, but he thought that she can't do it openly because of the royal burden. It was not her love he doubted the most, but trust. So he decided to take that burden and give her freedom to love him openly. And if he fails to do that, he will rot with her enemies. You can see that in episode 61. So no matter of his actions, he did a good thing to the country. Because of his actions, the rebellions were eliminated. And the queen had to sacrifice her beloved to the wealth of Silla.

나는 덕만이 왕이 되는 이 장면 진짜 왜 이렇게 눈물이 나지?? 어렸을때 이 드라마 볼땐 몰랐는데 덕만이 애기때부터 황실에서 버려지고 사막에서도 신라에서도 몇번의 죽을고비를 넘기고 고생이란 고생은 다하면서 이자리까지 오기까지의 과정을 다 알고 보니까 정말 눈물이 남

@@gabygabriella96 I think it:s really natural to expect someone to love you the way you love them too unless it's very2 obsessive stalker type of love cause no matter how much flimsy idealistic love says that love isn't about wanting anything back but giving everything, theoretically, it can be quite beautiful and sincere but in reality, I highly doubt there's a single person out there that completely feels like that. But of course one mustn't force their feelings on someone else.
Here Bidam is really persistent and I think that's because throughout his life he has always been abandoned and really didn't cling onto the ppl he subtly loved eg munno and mishil but he lost both of them so to deokman he gives it hiss all cause he feels that he acn't let her go like the others and the irony is that deokman falls for him for just that . Deokman hides her feelings a lot but deep inside she wanted someone to love her for herself and not let the queen title hinder it like what happened wwith yushin. However, on Mishil's side we see how she only loves Sadaham as he hadn't wanted anything in return from Mishil. So yeah it all ultimately depends on the person too i guess.

Deokman was Bidam's silla as told by the man himself so if he wanted to have silla then he wanted to have deokman's heart. Yeah most of you will compare it to Yusin's and say it is selfish but I think this is reality to what really love is like and it's really a natural human feeling especially to a person like Bidam that was abandoned throughout his life so this time he chose to grab on.

If the series ended here I would be happy for everyone but I would ask for more Bidam. I love KNG as Bidam. His character is so complex that you're supposed to hate him but you'll end up loving him even more. Almost a decade has passed but I still watch this on youtube. I miss KNG/Bidam.

Bidam's character is exactly like his Mother's Mishil. You are supposed to hate her but you end up liking her. According to female characters I have seen so far, I can compare Mishil to Empress Ki. They are Badass ladies. They don't give a shit whatsoever. Nowadays. I rarely see such characters in dramas.

Still, I think you are wrong by comparing Yushin with Bidam. Both of them are raised in different ways and circumstances. One is from a full family with both mom and dad who loved each other and raised him in their own picture of love. He was raised the way he would be useful to the nation.

Misil gave birth to him in hope to use him to become a queen, but she threw him like trash as soon as she learnt that there is no use of him. He was an abandoned child.
Even his master was not able to raise him well. Munno was a fighter and thought like a fighter. It is not enough to teach a child to fight and telling him that he will become someone high-ranking in the future. You need to tell about the moral principles and the difference between Good and Bad.
Munno shouldn't tell him that he is making him ready to something big. It is not correct. This is something to be told at the right time and circumstances.
Plus, he was expecting too much from an immature child. He didn't notice the personality of Bidam.
Bidam even then was too loyal to the ones he loved and wanted to protect something his beloved mater entrusted him and something he perceived as his.
It is the true reason why he killed so many people back then. Yes, he was kinda creepy back then, but it is incorrect to call him psychopath because of that mistake. Munno turned is back on him instead of telling that what he has done is not good.
Yes, Bidam killed people because of meaningless reasons as a chicken. But he always thinks he has reasons to do it. He never kills out of fun. He is not that kind of person.
Seriously, everyone in the show is killing people. But the only one who is claimed to be a psycho is Bidam. Bojong, Seopbom, Seolwon and even Misil have no problem to do kill people, even small children. But no, the only bad villain here is Bidam.
Everyone claime him to be deprived of compassion. But, in my opinion, he has compassion. He decided to help Deokman out of compassion. When Deokman executed those to leaders to rebellions, he felt compassion to her, because he understood that she is hurting her self.
Let us be honest, Munno failed in raising that lost child. He turned cold to him to the pitiful child. He didn't try to save his soul, but let the child lift alone, with his injuries. No matter what he did, Munno never praised him, never told him a warm word. And the only thing Bidam truly wanted was to be loved and accepted. For the person he loves, Bidam is ready to give all of himself.
The first person that saw Bidam was Deokman. She was the first one to thank him, to be grateful to what he did, even when it was not something he could have been proud of. But that meant much to him.
He was touched by the trust Deokman was giving to him. That he was useful to her.
He said that himself, that he is like a duckling, who follows the first one he sees. But I think, in this case, Deokman was the one who saw him first, and it was the reason why he followed her. She was the only one who accepted him, who saw a person in him.
You can't deny that he really was into her. And back then he had his own way to love.
But that damn Misil, SeolWon made it complicated for him. Even Deokman did. She told him in episode 51, that he was the one that made Misils heart to melt. We all know that Misil was not able to love anyone but herself. And yet, she was the one who fooled Bidam by telling him her own vision of love. Seolwon was the one who made him feel bad because of the "sacrifice" Misil did for him to become king. You can see that all of that was planned though.
But that forgot one thing: Bidam by himself never really thought of becoming a king. And compared to Misil, he was able to love and feel compassion. He reminds me of a child, who wants to please everyone who was kind to him.
And those his word on the coronation day:
"My Queen! Everything you have will be mine!" - has not any negative meaning as everyone think. It is his vision of love. There is no intention of eliminating her in his words but receive her. Back then he was already deeply in love with her. And he was intended to give everything to her and himself as well. By saying those words he expected the same from her. In other words, he decided to deceive her love.
But Yusins words:
"My Queen, everything I have is yours" - is really touching. But there is no romantically meaning in them. He is not trying to deceive her love. He locked his feelings for her as a man to a woman. Now he is only the servant trying to serve his ruler.

It was not her love he doubted the most, but trust. So he decided to take that burden and give her freedom to love him openly. And if he fails to do that, he will rot with her enemies. You can see that in episode 61.
So no matter of his actions, he did a good thing to the country. Because of his actions, the rebellions were eliminated. And the queen had to sacrifice her beloved to the wealth of Silla. .
Thanks for your great explanation. Unfortunately Bidam was deceived by wrong people plus he got easily manipulated. If he would trusted fully the queen he would not have got himself in such a mess. I think the most loyal of 3 of them was Alchun.

That is the greatest mistake Deokman made. None of Mishil's people she spared benefited her rule. That is where I loved Yi Bang Won. The guy slaughtered anyone who would cause problems later to the throne and he enforced royal authority. No nobles dared to mess with him. He then cleared way for King Lee Do (Sejong)

Let us be honest, Munno failed in raising that lost child. He turned cold to him to the pitiful child. He didn't try to save his soul, but let the child lift alone, with his injuries. No matter what he did, Munno never praised him, never told him a warm word. And the only thing Bidam truly wanted was to be loved and accepted. For the person he loves, Bidam is ready to give all of himself.
The first person that saw Bidam was Deokman. She was the first one to thank him, to be grateful to what he did, even when it was not something he could have been proud of. But that meant much to him.
He was touched by the trust Deokman was giving to him. That he was useful to her.
He said that himself, that he is like a duckling, who follows the first one he sees. But I think, in this case, Deokman was the one who saw him first, and it was the reason why he followed her. She was the only one who accepted him, who saw a person in him.
You can't deny that he really was into her. And back then he had his own way to love.
But that damn Misil, SeolWon made it complicated for him. Even Deokman did. She told him in episode 51, that he was the one that made Misils heart to melt. We all know that Misil was not able to love anyone but herself. And yet, she was the one who fooled Bidam by telling him her own vision of love. Seolwon was the one who made him feel bad because of the "sacrifice" Misil did for him to become king. You can see that all of that was planned though.

Their insight of being pieces on the chess board in history inspires me greatly. Mishil played her role of being a tough opponent which disciplined Deokman and ChunChu in foreign environments and fought her to win.
Their roles played great deal towards unification of three kingdoms, although incomplete with BalHae in north. Unified Shilla became a prototype of Korean unity in Korean Peninsula.
I feel like "Born Again As Korean" with this drama and Jumong.
Jumong was epic. My all time favourite. The guy himself wouldn't sit in the place but go into battlefield. Love Jumong
This series is really amazing. Nothing can compare it to any other series done to this day cuz it tackles heroism, bravery and patriotism. We see how strong-willed Deokman is and how she faced adversity. This has awesome episodes that make you cheer for Deokman so badly, like the eclipse scene and Misil's downfall. It's just really amazing. Empress Ki has a potential to be this great but it focuses too much on politics and strategies that they failed to make Nyang become a real hero.
Basically Deokman is a white pawn and she went to the other end of the chessboard and became queen XD basically after all of the struggles and all the adversaries she faced...
I am hoping MBC will put English subtitles for Jumong so that we foreigners can understand well that TV series.
