CONCAMO© Camouflage Effectiveness PART II (W/ GHOSTHOOD®)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 чер 2020
- This is part II of my camouflage effectiveness test of CONCAMO© aka Confusion Camouflage in a woodland environment during the summer time in north Texas. If you saw part I, I tested the pattern in the winter time when the prominent colors were brown and tan. Now we’re in the summer time where the prominent colors are green. Big thanks to UF PRO and Ghosthood for making this video possible! This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of the video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Some scenes will only expose little more than perhaps a hat, while other scenes will have virtually no vegetation covering. For more camouflage effectiveness videos featuring many other camouflage patterns, please check out my camouflage effectiveness playlist. Thanks for watching!

I'm so hyped!!! I, final convinced my parents to let me go to one shepherd!
Awesome brother.
Great u gonna do asat cannot next
The Germans have pioneered Camouflage for decades. This is excellent camo.
And italians
They were the first around 1930 who developed it and also used it in WW2. But it didnt helpedI cant remember which army it was but there is/was one that wearing green pants but camo jackets.
I like eichentarn camouflage .This camouflage from 2-nd world war.
Effective camo. Only problem is a price for the whole set but I guess it worth every penny
The German company Köhler offers clothing in the Same pattern but more affordable
Leo Köhler
This might be the best camoflage to this enviorment I have seen so far.
Exactly.
VERY interesting. I can see this as being very useful for hunters and/or a bug-out bag.
I wonder how well that mesh works as mosquito and fly netting. Then it would be a true bug out product.
Yup. Def for bug out kit.
Definitely!
I see this as being very useful to military. Cheap stuff does it for hunting as well.
This will be a great camo for hunters and recce/recon work alike where you have to be static for extended periods of time. The pattern here looks like it works best when you're prone or static in a LUP, as it almost mimics the fallen and dead foliage mixed together on the deck.
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks brother.
Really dig the way you demo camo. Hide, shoot, move. Rarely can I spot you👍
Thanks brother.
So fun fact when he demonstrated the hide and shoot I failed to spot him every time 🤣
It's main reason im wathing under table and shooting when he ups.
I wish to thank you very much! Through your videos the whole family has become sharper at detection and camouflage. We put your videos on and see who can spot you first. But on a serious knote, thank you for the knowledge you give freely. Gives us hope that when the time comes we will be that much more ready.
Wow, really amazingly thought out. This combo really tricks the human eye. Thanks for the links!!
8:40 holy crap! Great camo
Lol 😝
I’m sold. That’s pretty friggin awesome
Wow so blown away from the effectiveness of this camo! So awesome. I think i am going to purchase a wrap for my 450 Bushmaster
Right on!
Once again a great informative video. This is great stuff. Thanks again for doing what you do.
That's a highly effective pattern for sure...requires less prep such as attaching leaves to break up outline, etc... than standard GI camo. Would love to have that ultra-light ghost hood...but am wondering about the snag potential in moderate to heavy brush. As you very well know, there are sticker bushes and vines everywhere in Texas and other southern areas.
Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!
Hey Brent, I think once you're in the bush, it does a great job of breaking everything up in 3D...Awsome job there !!!
Thanks 👍
I like this pattern. Phantom Leaf still reigns supreme in my humble opinion. Great video Brent thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent camo pattern.
Very effective camo when used propperly. The hood/veil and leaves is an idea I've been playing around with and helps a lot to cover and hide yourself as well as your gun and gear.
Agreed, thanks for watching brother.
Again a Cool Video 👍
Thank U for the Info and the Links 👍
Seems like a pretty great pattern for your neck of the woods Brent!
Loved It!
Super interesting, great camo, good presentation 👍
Thank you! 👍
Looks like really good stuff, well done brother.
Thanks 👍
Exceptional, I scored a mere 1/14 spotted! That is lower than usual so it really is more effective than most camos out there.
Good stuff
This is camo extremely effective in both part 1 and 2 of your video environments. I would like to test this here in Australia and see how it performs. I will try to purchase through your sources Brent. Thanks for your production.
🇦🇺 Outstanding!!! Cheers from Down Under!!!
Brent, whenever I need info on camo I do not possess you are my man
the camo pattern is amazing. also because the material is so thin and see through it makes. a big difference at a distance.
I SEE YOU !!! you're right there ➡️
Awesome Ghost hoodie, I need one!!
They did good on this camo. Two thumbs up!
Agreed
Nice.I like the GhostHood
Damn effective camo. Performed great in the winter and even better now in the summer. Gotta get my hands on some.
Glad you liked it. I agree, its pretty good.
That’s pretty effective camo. The ghost hood would probably be a good thing to have. Awesome video!!! I also was browsing for ERDL Vietnam camo Moore Militaria has new ripstop ERDL reproduction camo that looks pretty close to the real thing. I ordered a top and waiting for pants to restock but I have an original top in mint condition was thinking about comparing side by side to see just how close the pattern is. Keep up the great work Brent.👍🏼
Just saw a video by ripperkon demonstrating the effectiveness of this stuff too, very, very impressive stuff. Exactly what I'd expect for the steep price point. Thanks for the demo, boss.
Thanks for watching.
great camo!!!....and great video
I tried seeing this through all the situations, and it's incredible. Great camo. It works well. I gave up after the fifth examble.
Ha, thanks for watching brother.
The ghost 👻 Camo suit worked best for me. 👍🏻
The art of invisibility.
👍👍
I love your videos, they are like Wheres Waldo for men.
fantastic camo, but I think the coolest thing is the separate leaves for adding to your gear.
Cool camo that's for sure. Very effective in that environment you're operating in there. Might be a good thing to look into for the upcoming Boogaloo as well.
docback63 isn’t that meme dead now lol
@@Anakin-Skywalker.: Beats me but it works, Lol
Uf pro guys are cool. Got some good videos
Good camo.
New sub and dude this camo is the f@cking awesome. Love the ghost hood 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Welcome aboard brother.
Just I expected, a great camouflage pattern indeed, and the hood does wonders to break up the very distinct head-neck shape. Must be very tricky to print it accurately on fabric as well. Another great video Gunny, keep it up!
Thanks brother, I'm actually not a GySgt anymore, I got promoted a couple years ago.
@@Brent0331 Apologies for my mistake, Master Sergeant (I hope I got it right this time). Congratulations on your promotion!
Cool to see some higher end mesh type camouflage gear, I’ve been making good use of some hunting meshes for my face and also my helmet as a makeshift mitznefet almost but it’s all fairly low quality and finding it in a decent non real tree camo has always been inconsistent
Very affective camouflage even when you move and then go motionless. It hard to make you out what you’re looking at . A like from me and thank you 🤝👍🇬🇧
Thanks for watching.
Brent - As an OD thru Woodland veteran I appreciate what you are doing on your channel - a definitive source on camo patterns. I am curious what elements of camo design you find are most effective. Such things a pattern size, shade, contrast, directionality, 3D, etc. are all parts of the puzzle. Also distance versus up-close effectiveness. Would you consider doing a “lessons learned” video.
This could be very informative taking into account he has tested something like 100 patterns so far!
I've found the most important factor is false edges/breaking up the silhouette. A duel texture is also very useful.
Basically the prints that have large khaki and olive backing sections with smaller dark and light sections are all generally very effective. I'm always amazed by how much those custom WWI Ghillie suits share in common with the top tier camos on the market today.
Thanks for watching brother. I'll have random videos come down the pipe in the future. I have gotten video ideas from viewers so I appreciate the recommendations from folks for sure.
Effective. I must get some.
*Very cool, I'd like to see their Brown version tested by you.*
I love your channel and content. I love this camo! It's in my top 3 personal favs next to Multicam/OCP and Navy Type III (AOR-2). I'm curious what your overall favorites are?
Found you nearly every time. Idk if I'm getting better at this or the camo wasn't that good
I love playing the "Find Brent" game. That shroud is pretty dope. Does it snag on underbrush and shit or is it pretty slick?
High Brent, i like CONCAMO very much and i have hope now, that it is the beginning of a big movement in modifying camo.-design. Kindly Fiete
Thanks for watching brother.
very informative
Looks like it works pretty well during Winter and moderately well during Summer. Think I'll stick with Greenzone during the Summer.
It may just be the camera, but something I notice is that most camos in your videos work well to some degree in the shade, but almost all of them become far too dark when you step into a light spot. This camo seems to achieve not only outstanding performance overall, but crucially seems to still work very well when it's in direct sunlight.
Holy shit, that is one effective camo, I didn't see you at all when you were hidden. That would be the greatest stuff for hide and seek
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Brent, is this Ghost Hood the green or brown variant? I can't get the link to work and can't tell from the pictures on their website. Love your content over the years and these videos have been indispensable.
Great video man I'm probably gonna buy concamo because how good it works
Hope you enjoy it!
@@Brent0331 thanks
Dam mosquitoes are out also known as a flying liberal
Yeah the skeeters are out in force now. Its nice during the winter when I don't have them buzzing all over me.
*Leftist
Liberal means Liberty 🗽
Very effective camo.
Sure is
Thank you for the camouflage tests, very interesting content! Will you have a Flecktarn D test? It seems to me very relevant for the summer season
Maybe in the future but I did this pattern already that is similar. ua-cam.com/video/c_Q4nptAmm8/v-deo.html
@@Brent0331 Thank you, we look forward to new tests, good luck
Even when knee position that camo blends so well…to my untrained eyes its almost impossible to spot…
Killer camo pattern. Breaks up the outline of your silhouette and the perfect combination of colors. I couldn't see you even if you were laying or crouched down in the open.
I feel like it suffers a bit from being just a little too intricate. There were some instances where it blended together into one overall colour, similar to what happened with UCP. I was able to spot you at some greater distances to due the lack of larger shapes in the design. Closer up it really does its job though.
Nice Video
Thanks
I can definitely see that being used when bow hunting!!
Is it available in the U.S.? Prices listed on website were Euros(?)
Damn!You got me!
Pretty effective.
Agreed
Brent ur a lucky guy! I wish ur pro sent me stuff!!
Love your content brother 💪 was hoping you can cover the civil war of Yugoslavia much love from So Cal
So we did do one video already and another video on a yugo pattern. I'm sure we'll get around to doing more stuff here in the future.
@@Brent0331 yeah I really like your reenactment and gear videos. And just learning about other modern warrior cultures from around the world in general keep it up G
You should see if you could get your hands on some of Chinas new XINGKONG "Starry sky" camo. Specifically the woodland or jungle coloration. I know one seller on eBay that sells it. Also Poland's "MAPA" camo would be cool too.
Excellent coloration and pattern. QUESTION regarding Southern Woods: how will the material hold up against briars and busting through brush...extended ops?
That I don't know. Its a very light weight material. I wouldn't expect it to hold up as well as lets say a typical combat utility uniform. My two cents is you would wear this when movement is limited or slow and very deliberate. Think more of a sniper and not as an Infantryman fire team rushing an enemy position.
Also Brent, where did you get the balaclava? Or is that part of the ghost hood?
I had to close and re open this video 15 times, to bypass am obnoxious dish detergent add... I have and never will care about what brand of lemony fresh my dishes will smell like.
1 minute into this video and there's a paid placement for ghost hood... I've been looking for a product exactly like Ghost hood for 6 MONTHS, and this is the first I'm hearing of it.
UA-cam, your algorithms are fundamentally broken. More camo and night vision adds pls, less detergent, thanks.
:P
semplicemente impressionante
Great video. Can we see the Pentagon Tactical Grassman camo soon?
That's new to me, I'll look into it.
5:20 he WAS RIGHT THERE... AND I DID NOT SEE HIM... very nice
I did not detect you in the first three scenes, but spotted you in the rest with the exception of the last. I think the uniform pattern alone would be better in the open/ brighter green settings, as the Ghost hood system presents a more olive/brown tone, which is how I was able to detect you. Near a tree trunk of fallen log, however, the hood system is very effective as evidenced in the first part of the video. I really like the idea of a lightweight hood system that can be worn over 'street clothes'. Thanks again and BTW I purchased a 1x6 ACSS PA optics through your link (I hope) the other day.
Awesome brother, did you select the option for the free mount? It should have given you that going through the link.
@@Brent0331 Yes so we're GTG
I think this IS the BEST Camo for down here in my area (East Tx.) and I know it would work up in Missouri and Arkansas also. I have't order a set of these.
Thanks for watching brother.
I wish my budget was bigger but I am limited to just two sets of pants, shirts and a jacket with hat. What would be best pattern for year round wear. Yes I know it will change with seasons and location. I live in central North Carolina. I would like to find something that will do a more then solid OD green.
that matched your carbine paint job spot on. Did you re camo it just for this video?
Nope, just happened to work out that way. Still the original job job I did on that rifle from years ago.
If you had to choose between Pencott Greenzone and Concamo, which would you choose?
I kind of like the poncho. It looks very light so it will not heat me up, and it is easy to pull out of a pack and throw on, so I can go from civvies to full camo in less then a minute.
Yeah man, its super light and quick to throw on.
I once misread the recipe for chili con carne and accidentally made chili con camo. Never got to taste it, since I couldn't find it afterwards. 😄
Nice as always, now also avaible concamo brown, but only pants and shirt i think.
Oh nice!
@@Brent0331 concamo.com/?s=brown&post_type=product Check this! Das ist deutch manufacter LEO KÖHLER :D UF PRO have high prices, here's on CONCAMO website all i think who made officialy.
Brent, can you do a video where you demo how solid-color BDU/ACU (like grey, OD, khaki, etc) can be made to work in the field, relative to camo versions?
I have done OD and coyote, check my camo playlist.
This vs a set of greenzone and badlands (summer/fall) ? What’s the recommendation. Upstate NY
Brent really becomes InvisaBrent in this camo... really works.
I can't imagine how they came about coming up with this stuff. It's like... space age patterning on the stuff. I wonder how tough those Ghosthood additions are.
I mean, can you really make a lightweight, easy-on piece of gear and have it be resistant to snagging onto briars for example or twigs...
It sure is more compact than a ghillie suit, which is great.
Its a real light weight material. I dont know how rip resistant it is, didn't "torture" test it (and I'm not going to because I want to use it again in the future obviously). I'd say this is mostly for slower deliberate movement vise fast fire rushing or high speed movement. Think sniper or a hunter as opposed to an Infantryman.
@@Brent0331 yes, makes sense.
Seem like an effective pattern for your environment. How prone to ripping and snagging are the garments?
Its a light material, so I'm sure it can rip. However, I didn't have any tearing issues while wearing it and moving through the woods.
Just load out that ghost hood with some fresh bright green foliage it's done.
This pattern would be ideal for hunters. Do you only test military camouflage or also civilian camouflage? Asking because I'd like to see you test patterns like Truetimber Strata etc.
I have done a few "hunting" patterns in the past but I generally focus on military patterns.
Es bueno... pero es resistente a rasgaduras? Y transpirable ?
Hey Brent, how does a Multicam plate carrier look on top of this stuff?
I can only imagine this guy's closet, dozens of camouflage uniforms.
>__<
Only for sure caught you at 9:27, and that's cause I could see you breathing.
My closet is absolutely ridiculous..... and I love it! ha
I'll have to check out the winter one. Looks like it might be good for fall hunting up north. I hate the shitty quality and fit of most hunting clothing under $300 for a coat. Throw this over some good wool, or old cheap surplus stuff, and you got a hunting set up
Gouhst looks great seems thin easily ripped ... Dang that works ..
Its very thin, Not sure how well it will hold up going through thorny brush but for what its worth it survived my wearing of it.
That fabric is less reflective in the sunlight than the others. I think it's due to the light absorption with a lower thread count. It makes a difference.
Possibly.
