Motor Trend.
See Motor Trend review..it is not pretty: Despite its off-road prowess, we found the NX350h's overall ride and handling somewhat less impressive. Dynamically, the NX defaults to understeer (as most similar crossovers do and probably should) with reasonable grip, but it doesn't deliver the type of engaging driving experience the Jaguar F-Paces and Genesis GV70s of the segment do. From an overall ride quality perspective, the NX350h's suspension will easily reach its bumpstops through larger bumps and struggles to settle down over stretches of uneven pavement. The cabin is proper luxury-SUV quiet, but the rest of the experience fails to live up to that standard
Does it feel weaker than the gas version NX350 since this hybrid version has 36 less horsepower? I test drove the 2021 NX300, loved it except it felt a bit underpower, so I think the NX350 gas version would be perfect for me. I do like this hybrid version with better gas mileage and cheaper, just not sure if it is underpower like this year's NX300.

Does the NX 350h require premium or regular fuel? The old NX hybrid did not require it. Also, why get this over the Venza hybrid? Many call the Venza very Lexus-lite...thank you!🚙
I've been reading reviews about the NX as well as other competition like the GV70. I am on the lookout for a second vehicle. This time a compact SUV. I already own a 2019 Lexus GS350 F sport. I am now looking for something that is fuel-efficient. I am very tempted by the GV70, then it dawned on me that not everyone is looking for the same type of vehicle regardless of how well it performs. People have different needs and have different ages and driving tendencies. I already have a sports performance luxury sedan. The NX, even if it doesn't match the GV70 in performance, is not proven in reliability, and it also does not have a hybrid variant. Why would I need another vehicle with 300 HP that averages 24MPG. When doing local errands where I live, which is loaded with speed cameras, and the speed limit is 25 MPH, I can't have fun with a performance vehicle unless I take it out of the city. Don't get me wrong, I love my GS350, but when doing 30MPG it's all luxury, but no fun. With the NX350H, I can have luxury, some fun handling, and 40MPG!, and I know it's not going to break. Why is it that when I read reviews of how good an SUV is, no one considers the poor reliability of that vehicle? There are some of us that buy cars and hold on to them. Even if I had extra money to spare, it's not in my DNA to feel like I got a bad deal or was screwed. That's how I would feel if I bought a great performing MB or BMW $75K- $90K, and then in 4 to 5 years I'm constantly being taken to the cleaners. Hi Kirk. With this new hybrid system in the 2022 NX350h, can you reach higher speeds like 50+ and still be on electric quiet mode without the gas engine coming on? Also could it be that for those who choose the pano roof could get slightly less mpgs due to the extra weight of it? 400lbs?

The key factor to consider in the pricing of the plug in hybrid will be the US federal tax credit. If the vehicle qualifies, the buyer could get a $7,500 tax credit. If you paid enough taxes to get the full credit, this would lower the overall price of the vehicle. The RAV 4 prime plug in gets the full $7,500 credit now.

Kirk, am I seeing these figures right? Does the new NX have more cargo space behind the back seat than the current RX? I saw the RX and it says 16. something cu ft, and the NX, 22. cu ft. If true, how can a larger vehicle have less cargo space than a small one?
I don't know why all vehicle brands fit glass roofs or panels standard they should be an option, i don't like glass on the roof because of heat and hail.
The UX & NX (depending on cargo needs) are my two favorite Smaller CUVs/SUVs made today. In our home, the 200 UX was the winner, but my heart is with the NX hybrid. The Grabber Blue like paint doesn't do it for me, but in White, this car would be a 🎯 in my book.

I saw horrible reviews on the Bridgestone run flat tires. Sidewall issues. Pot holes, small or large, apparently eating those tires alive. They cost around $225 each. Only if battery is full . It's pretty much a useless button. If you have the PHEV then EV drive is as often as you plug it in to get your 40mi EV range.
@@KirkKreifels thank you!
@@KirkKreifels I put a deposit on the 350h. Originally, I wanted the rav4 prime but it doesn’t exist right now. Also, wanted the 450h but it’s a bit too much. Hopefully I made the right choice with the 350h. Thanks for this great review.
Kirk, am I seeing these figures right? Does the new NX have more cargo space behind the back seat than the current RX? I saw the RX and it says 16. something cu ft, and the NX, 22. cu ft. If true, how can a larger vehicle have less cargo space than a small one?
I'm seeing 18 cu feet for RX. NX is counting the hidden storage below the floor too I bet
Awesome
Geez, that camera quality is really good!
I got the 2022 ux250h. Dealership is offering to buy out car and put me in NX 350h at Msrp. Is it worth the jump?
Yes imo!
What took them so long?? 😉 well done, Lexus 👍
Most reviews say it is not enough compared to the competition today.
Do you think the RX will basically be the NX, but bigger?
Yes
I don't know why all vehicle brands fit glass roofs or panels standard they should be an option, i don't like glass on the roof because of heat and hail.
19:00 i dont like this high pitch 4cyl noise; they should have put in a better noise protection, imo. It seems its loud as in a Corolla or CH-R ?
it's worlds quieter than a Corolla and chr
@@KirkKreifels OK; thx. i should be for that price !!
What a beautiful and magnificent vehicle 😍
The UX & NX (depending on cargo needs) are my two favorite Smaller CUVs/SUVs made today. In our home, the 200 UX was the winner, but my heart is with the NX hybrid. The Grabber Blue like paint doesn't do it for me, but in White, this car would be a 🎯 in my book.
Get the 350h for sure
Can you get an NX350h in the F-Sport ?
Not in America.
@@KirkKreifels such a sweet ride and great review. Thanks for the reply
maybe ES should have same hybrid system?
Does the 9.8" LCD screen feel like a big step down from the 14"?
I haven't seen it yet 😐
such a nice ride!
Kirk I'm definitely getting one.. But I'm torn between the hybrid and the F Sport 350 turbo. A little worried about the comfort of the FSport seats tho I did have( for a brief time a 2016 FSport NX) Not sure when I'll see one in person but thoughts on which you like more? I'm a horsepower gal but also hate paying premium gas prices. Either way I can't wait as I'm getting it fully loaded. I currently have a 2013 ES that I love and an not trading in.
Drive both! See which you like better. I prefer the hybrid over the turbo, but that's just me.
Thank you! Can't wait to see them in person. I love the blue! I'm also a music person so going to get the Mark Levinson stereo as well. So excited! They are taking November/ December...
@@lorabecka6177 congrats. I've booked the 350h after a lot of consideration. We can get the F Sport on the 350h here in Australia. I picked the Enhancement Pack with the Mark Levinson and Pano roof too
@@vinayshsureshram277 congrats! So excited to see one in person. They keep pushing them back so maybe not till Christmas but we'll see.
Late comment I know but I found the f sport seats not very comfortable. It may have something to do with the firm finish/stitching on the sides. the non f sport model does have much comfier seats. Shame cause f sport looks really nice.
Kirk, does the 2022 nx 350 hybrid use premium gasoline?
The 239hp is rated with premium, but I'm sure you can run it on 87. The turbo might be more picky though
I saw horrible reviews on the Bridgestone run flat tires. Sidewall issues. Pot holes, small or large, apparently eating those tires alive. They cost around $225 each. Might consider the tire and wheel extra cost coverage at time of purchase. Two flats and the coverage will have paid for itself. Wish it had a spare ….🥴.
I might go for the premium package with 18 inch wheels. Get regular Michelins when the run flats wear out
This might be the best lexus to buy
Attainable, with latest technology, great looks , comfortable and spacious enough..
Will definitely be steaking sales from rx as most people don't need such a big vehicle
"...Despite its off-road prowess, we found the NX350h's overall ride and handling somewhat less impressive. The cabin is proper luxury-SUV quiet, but the rest of the experience fails to live up to that standard..." Motor Trend
@@normt430 second time you posted that 💩 .
@@mikej238 yes, it is sad. Do you think the nee RX will be any better?
why would you show all those features of the back seat and not show how much legroom it has?
Weird to say, but this *might* be a better value proposition than a Venza Limited.
Venza limited is not the way they go. The large touchscreen and touch capacitive controls are a no-go for me. Better off saving a little bit of cash and getting a lesser trim
This uses different battery chemistry than the Toyota's.
@@normt430 Lexus use NiMH?
