The bust of Queen Victoria reminded me of the book and movie "The Mudlark" -- so, like the young mudlark in the movie, you have met up with the queen herself!!!
Simon you deserve your own TV programme.,no doubt whatsoever!!
You put so much thought and effort into the development of this video! Well done, sir. A pleasure to watch.
Thanks so much Doug 👍🏻🐾🧡
For find #1 -- looking at your "boat" made me think of the great quote from the movie Jaws: “You're gonna need a bigger boat” 🙂
I found my torpedo bottle in a charity shop for £1, I don't think they knew what it was 🤣
Great reaction from Jules after casting his eyes on the bust of queen Victoria lol. Priceless!
It’s amazing how the Roman coins are so well preserved.
Right!
I can't believe how good that bike lamp came out mate. Very cool! Here's to many more amazing finds in '23
Cheers Corbin, I was really happy with it 👍🏻🐾🧡
The lamp is amazingly restored. Only Si could do this as he's so experienced and takes such loving care with this amazing history.
I love this whole video. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I can't believe how many I missed. May 2023 bring even more spectacular finds. I love you, Si. Keep your keen eyes zeroing in.
Agreed. I loved the illumination--it was dreamy.
The bronze bust of Victoria is my favorite...just so random, rare and I'm so glad it is yours! Well deserved, Simon! Thank you for all the wonderful video's and sharing your amazing experiences....I enjoyed my mudlarking experience this past September...14 wonderful days in London and several visits to the foreshore...meeting Nicola, Tobias and Marie and Jason at Waterman's Hall was just so so special. A dream come true. Blessings in 2023 and excited for more of your discoveries....WHO KNOWS WHAT'S IN STORE!
My face hurts from smiling so much! What an amazing year you had! ❤
Predictions for 2023 - you’re going to find a gold coin really soon. In the summer, you will find an onion bottle (not sure where, but I have a feeling you’ll be a long way from home) and after the harvest… a hoard awaits you!
Well that would be epic! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Nice collection of finds in 2022! Congratulations! Just got back to your videos recently, have been hospitalized for three months. I fell and injured my right leg, and while in the hospital, caught Covid 19. No internet in the places in attendance. Glad to be back following again, Si. Best of luck in 2023, and see you on the next. Cheers mate! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
My gosh, you've been through it! Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Thanks for the video, the cap badge you found from the Rifle Brigade, In 1958, it transferred from the Light Infantry Brigade to the Green Jackets Brigade becoming 3RGJ in 1966 along with 2RGJ The King’s Royal Rifle Corps ( the regiment I served in back in the 70`s) and 1RGJ The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, It continued in British Army service until 2007, when it was amalgamated with three other units to form The Rifles.
Nice one thanks!
Number one’s been pinned as an open and shut case , Si’s Brightest find for the year 🍻
Hehe. Happy New Year dude
I’d like to see a compilation of your favourite upcycles as well.
Yes that had crossed my mind 👍🏻🐾🧡
Yes, please!
Yea! I do love that monogrammed tin. Love your friends as well. Happy 2023, Simon. Here is to more luck in the muck :)
Good thing you discovered the cannonball on a hovercraft trip, not when you were out on Rob's tiny boat. I'm looking forward to all the great finds of 2023. Thanks for all the great content, Si. Happy New Year.
Boar War cap badge and bicycle lamp my personal favourites Si. I’m physically unable to detect or lark so thanks for providing me with a Sunday fix this year. All the best for 2023.
Your finds are always just as thrilling for me as they are for you. I am a born scavenger, so I’d love to go mudlarking with you and your crew someday!
Cheers Martha 👍🏻🐾🧡
Thank you for a years worth of great videos! I’ve watched every Sunday all year!

Thank you for this absolutely lovely video, Simon! It is extremely well-produced and edited and the finds are wonderful, too! Happy New Year, mate, and here's to a year of good health, happiness, and many mudventures in 2023.
My favorite UA-cam channel - absolutely excellent 🎉❤😊
Thanks Si for all the excitement, passion and history knowledge you deliver every video. The best of Utube. Thank you 😊
The bicycle light is absolutely beautiful, what a great find and great job restoring it. 🐕🇺🇸🥰
Well done Simon! You’ve had a great year! Next find….The onion bottle 😌😉😉😉
Queen V has to be the most iconic British item you've ever pulled out of the mud. Here's to even more exiting finds in 2023! 🍺💛
Cheers Mudlover! 😊👍🏻👣🧡
Happy New Year Simon! I think that this is the year that you will extract the full statue of Queen Victoria from the Thames mud!!!!
For each one of these videos I watch, I am learning about our own history. Thank you so very much
My favorite, hands down, is the bust of Queen Victoria. It is so London.
I knew it!!! I thought that tin was outstanding when you found it! All amazing finds though! 🤩
Amazing finds, what a well put together video.
Thanks so much! 👍🏻🐾🧡
A great year of finds. Happy New Year Simon. Thank you for all the fun and treasure. You are a treasure. 😊

Awesome editing, by the way.. loved it!
Thank you for all of your fabulous videos that you put out last year! I loved them all, whether it was the mudlarking, the metal detecting, the group dump site excavations or the Hovercraft History Hunters. I have to say, I loved the bust of Queen Victoria! Imagine seeing her in real life! She looked like a formidable woman, quite unlike Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second who looked sweet and grandmother my to me. I just love watching you, Simon and I've enjoyed getting to take part in your adventures and getting to know all of your mudlarking, metal detecting, bottle digging, hover crafting friends. Here's to a fantastic 2023 with many, many excellent finds!
OMG, that lamp was gorgeous!!! Very lucky find indeed!
LOVED THIS! Great finds!
Cheers Mudlover 👍🏻🐾🧡
So cool to see all the finds with you over again. Hope 2023 to you, Nelson, Daisy, and the chicks!🇬🇧🎉🎊

I loved that run down of your Top Ten finds in 2022. I wonder what treasures Old Father Thames will serve up to you in 2023? Happy New Year and Happy Larking.
My great grandfather fought in the Boer War, but he was a Canadian from Newfoundland.
Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I love the bike lamp…how beautiful!
It really is!👍🏻🐾🧡
The bicycle lamp is an absolute beauty!
Cheers Mudlover 👍🏻🐾🧡
Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Fantastic finds. May this year be full of even better finds for you.
I must agree Si, these are truly the best mudlarking finds of 2022
Best wishes for 2023 🎉
Have you seen Adam’s miniature torpedo bottle? Stunning! ❤
Excellent video as always. The cap badge is probably Rifle Brigade from WW1, the reference on the badge to South Africa is because the Regiment gained battle honours during the 2nd Boar War.
Those are 10 most amazing finds! I think my favorite is Queen Victoria. So gad you rescued her from the mud! Happy New Year, Si.
Cheers Mudlover! 😊👍🏻👣🧡
love your videos! you can tell it's Constantine because he was the first Christian emperor; there are angels on the back of his coins. also his son, Constantious.
Ahhh the gentle art of mudlarking! Loved to see the contenders for your top ten finds. I was tossing between the bust of Queen Victoria, the anchor and the tobacco tin for the number one spot. All fabulous finds. All those long hours spent in the rain, wind, gloopy mud and occasional sunshiny day and even night expeditions certainly are worth every minute. Well done team Si!
Cheers Mudlover! 😊👍🏻👣🧡
The Queen Vicky statute is the best thing ever found. Have a Studly New Year !

Bike lamp is my favourite. The restoration gave it such great “before and after” vibes.
I’d be made up with the tin and bust though.

HH

I honestly thought "Her Maj" would have been your top find, but the tin was truly amazing.
